Everything works fine; you just need a bit more experience and a little more common sense.🙂 😉

]Seriously, go troll someone else...☕

And honestly, I’m just sitting here wondering who the real clown is in this situation—like, if you’re struggling to install basic windows, why on earth would you actually pay someone to deal with such nonsense in the first place? ☕

Just some honest advice: maybe stay away from computers altogether... it's probably not your thing...

Man... goodness, I don't know how people even get online these days...🙄

HEY, GO TAKE YOUR FRUSTRATIONS OUT SOMEWHERE ELSE, YOU INSECURE LITTLE JERK! Seriously, you're acting like such an idiot. Some other moron just like you tried to install Beta for me, and they messed up just as badly as you're acting like you're a genius right now—they totally botched the job just like you would... And look, I don't claim to be a computer expert or anything, so what's wrong with that? I know the basics, like how to turn things on, check my email, and stuff like that, which is more than enough for me. But YOU? You spend your entire day obsessing over that stupid computer and then try to take your frustrations out on someone else? Honestly, just go for a walk or something... it's kind of sad when people think they own the whole world just because they know a few things...

Let me refresh this (if it hasn't been updated already):
We just got official word that there won't be another beta for Windows 7; instead, the next version on deck is the Release Candidate, which should wrap up the feature set. Even so, people are already guessing when it will drop. The most specific prediction came from a blog run by a Microsoft partner in Sweden, claiming, and I quote, "Early April, after CES, comes the RC," which basically means the RC should arrive in early April following CES.

That same report also speculates on the launch date for the final RTM (Release to Manufacturing) version—October 3, 2009.

It's probably too early to call the exact date for the final build, but since April is right around the corner and the public beta is looking pretty stable, it might actually be true. If that’s the case, it's going to be a massive hit for American Microsoft employees, because this year's WinDays will have an incredibly relevant and heavy-hitting theme.

And some financial speculation:
Windows 7 pricing rumors

Even though Microsoft hasn't officially announced or released the price for the upcoming Windows 7, plenty of websites have already started speculating. The first to jump on this was a German site called Windows Secrets, which claims prices will start at $199.95 for Windows 7 Starter. That same site expects the Home Basic version to go for $259.95, Professional for $299.95, and Ultimate for $319.95.
Shortly after, Ars Technica also published an article regarding the pricing for the newest operating system. Interestingly, they reported the exact same prices as the Germans, though they noted their source isn't entirely reliable.

What is certain is that the price for Windows 7 Starter will hover around $200. This version of Windows will come with certain limitations, such as being able to run only three applications simultaneously, offering lower resolutions, lacking live thumbnail previews, and having limited processor support. This version is intended for budget laptops.

Hey, look! Seriously, stop bickering over who’s criticizing whom or why people are being called out. We aren't some group of gossiping old ladies here to nitpick every tiny little thing! At the start of this whole discussion, it clearly says Windows 7, not just random outbursts. I get it—not everyone is going to see eye to eye, and everyone has their own unique experiences with computers that might not align. People should say what they think, and sure, go ahead and comment, but it would be incredibly stupid, totally insane, and a real waste if this thread gets locked just because you can't agree on everything...

I recently stumbled upon an article discussing how Microsoft might offer a very cheap upgrade path to Vista. I can't quite recall where I saw it, and frankly, I can't be bothered to hunt down the link 😁
.
Anyway, it’s hardly surprising given that Vista hasn't been on the market for long and there has been so much drama surrounding it.

Alright, let's cut the crap—nobie and ivan, you both have a PM, so go ahead and tear into each other there. One more reply on this thread and I’m banning both of you.

I’ve been running Windows 7 for about two weeks now, and I guess I’m feeling pretty satisfied with it all so far. Everything from the initial installation—which honestly only took maybe 15 to 20 minutes—to how snappy the whole OS feels seems really solid. So far, every single program I’ve thrown at it has worked without any major hiccups, though I suppose Daemon Tools is being a little finicky, but I can probably just swap that out for PowerISO instead. So yeah, that’s the short version; I think it’s a really great OS and I'm super happy with it.

Amy Parker5 said:Has anyone else dealt with this headache right after booting up? It’s driving me nuts—this thing pops up almost every single time I turn the computer on. Anyone found a fix for this yet?

Look, if you want that report on the issues and how to fix them, just head over to the Control Panel and check out the Problem History view. Those are just basic logs, though. If you really want to dig deep, you’d better go poking around the registry... but honestly, don't bother, it's a total mess. Facebook.☕

It’s gone... there's nothing left. Unless you already registered and downloaded it back in the day, you can at least try to hunt down your old key.

Alright, I got that part sorted out...

But now I’m running into a different issue. Sound isn't working at all.

I've tried searching everywhere, but I can't get any of these drivers to actually take. It's useless.

It's the VIA AC 97 drivers—I'm using an ASUS P4V800D-X motherboard.

Does anyone have a fix for this?

Just grab the drivers meant for Vista and they should work fine; if not, even the WDM drivers from Windows XP will do the trick.

Regarding Windows 7, I have to say that it’s actually quite impressive and remarkably stable, though I did run into a bit of a hiccup with the drivers. For instance, I can't seem to find the specific software for empowering Technology on my Acer laptop; if I track it down I'll be sure to let you all know, but if anyone happens to stumble upon it first, please give me a shout! 😁. As far as the audio goes, you can grab the Realtek‘s HD 2.16 audio driver designed specifically for Windows 7

So, I just installed Windows 7 on my Toshiba p300-13J laptop. It runs great otherwise, but I’ve got this one annoying issue—every time I boot up, it defaults to some massive resolution (like 640x480, I think), and both the touchpad and keyboard stop working. A USB mouse works fine, though. I end up having to force a restart to get everything running properly. It doesn't happen every single time, but it feels like every other boot. Sometimes it's just the resolution acting up, sometimes it's just the peripherals, but usually, a reboot fixes it.

I'm wondering if this is just some beta bug, or if there's an actual way to fix this shit?
