Alright, if anyone actually tries out that RC1, let me know what the averages look like and what they actually fixed... 😉

Does anyone actually have a clue how the transition from beta to the final release is going to work? Like, will it be a simple paid download—similar to how some studios handle their early access stuff—or are we looking at having to reinstall everything from scratch?

Guys, does anyone know if any of these programs actually work on Windows 10? Thanks.

Ever since I switched to Windows 7, subtitles have stopped working in Windows Media Player. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've dealt with that too.

Honestly, just step out of the Stone Age and install VLC Media Player😉

So, I’m getting this message saying my Windows Defender isn't actually active—and when I try to toggle it back on, I just get stuck with an error stating "Action Center can't turn on Windows Defender. Please try again later."🤷

Thanks for the GOM player suggestion, but NO thanks.
.....So, I am repeating my question: does anyone actually know how to display SRT subtitles in Media Player?☕

So, is there actually a way to upgrade from the Windows 7 build 7000 directly to Windows 7 rc1 without having to wipe everything and reinstall the OS? Is there some kind of update path available or what? If I’m reading this right, Windows 7 rc1 is build 7057.

You got it right. I tried upgrading via disc yesterday, but it just gave me the exact same version again.
Has anyone heard if RC2 is out yet? Does anyone know where I can grab it? If you do, shoot me a PM.

I heard rumors that RC2 is already out there, does anyone actually know where I can grab it? If you do, please just shoot me a private message...

It hasn't been released yet. 👍

Hi everyone. I’m not entirely sure if I’m posting in the right spot, but I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me out. I’m facing a pretty huge problem and I honestly don't know if there's any way to fix it. Basically, our computer got hit by a virus, so my husband took it over to a friend who ended up wiping the whole system and installing a fresh version of Windows. The issue is—they didn't back up the photos of my baby girl from the hospital. I was wondering if there is any way at all to recover images from a formatted hard drive? If so, how? PLEASE HELP, those memories of her first moments mean everything to me and I would do anything to get those photos back.

Look, if those photos were sitting on a drive that’s already been formatted, you're basically out of luck—they're gone for good🤷

If it was just a quick format, there might be a chance—which is likely what happened. But that window of opportunity closes fast every time you actually use the computer.

Turn the computer off and leave it off. Take it to a pro who handles data recovery; maybe they can pull something off. Don't get your hopes up too high, especially if the machine has been used much since the wipe...
