Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a complete ISO for Windows XP SP3—and I mean the full installer, not just some sketchy upgrade patch. I’ve already wasted my time on three different downloads, only to end up with useless junk (by the time the download finishes, I feel like I've aged a decade), or worse, I run into boot errors every single time. If anyone happens to have a reliable, safe link, please let me know. Or better yet, if someone actually has a copy sitting on a drive they could send over...
Thanks, cheers! 🙂

Grab this—it’s up on RapidShare.
And honestly, just look at the thread title... it says Windows 7.

So GOG was right; leave the Stone Age behind and just install GOM or, better yet, KMPlayer.

Ever since I switched to Windows 7, they haven't worked, and I couldn't be bothered to download some extra software.
I guess I'll have to.

And I specifically need subtitles for French films.

hmm... which version of Windows are you running? For me, everything worked fine right after installation—unless you're trying to use a mouse from the Stone Age.

That was my old version—I've moved up to 7057 by now. Honestly, your issue sounds a bit weird... I mean, if the OS installed everything else just fine during setup, why is the mouse acting up? Just grab a new mouse and see if it works 1:1. Or, try installing the driver manually if you can find it—there isn't really another way. Maybe it's just an old driver or something... I don't know for sure.

and also, I desperately need subtitles for these French movies

Look, if you're dead set on watching movies with subtitles using Windows Media Player, you've just gotta install VobSub and you'll be good to go!

The Windows 7 beta version is no longer available for download. Does anyone actually know what happened there? I tried to grab the Windows 7 beta, and what do I get? Nothing. It says Windows 7 isn't even available anymore. Is there some other way to get it?

Does anyone know why I can't get any firewalls to install on my Windows 7 machine? I already have NOD32 running, but I wanted to layer on a firewall for some extra security, and so far, nothing has worked...😕
Even most of the antimalware tools aren't behaving properly... except for Malwarebytes.
Does anyone have a clue what might be causing this issue?
Thanks in advance! 🙂

Microsoft is about to drop the Windows 7 RC on their site any day now, so just sit tight and chill out for a bit.....

uh my bad, am I really not allowed to even mention it? Seriously, I've seen people type that word on this forum a million times whenever someone's looking for stuff. Fine, whatever, I'll shut up about it.😁

Fine, I’ll try to exercise some patience. But honestly, what does "RC version" even mean?🙏

RC = Release Candidate RC. So, after bouncing around through a bunch of betas, we finally hit the RC stage. It’s not going to be a massive leap away from what the final version looks like, but don't get too comfortable—it's still very much in the testing phase...

RC = Release Candidate

Basically, an RC is just software that’s sitting there acting as a "candidate" for the big official release. It's like the final dress rehearsal before the actual show starts.

Is it just me, or is anyone else dealing with Windows 7 constantly pulling random stuff from the web? I'm running Windows 7 build 7000, and I've already killed off automatic updates. I don't have any other programs set to download updates either—well, except for Norton, but I turned those off too. I'm thinking maybe it’s tied to the fact that I haven't activated Windows yet... I'm kind of just trying to avoid activating it. Does anyone know how to actually shut this thing down?

So, any word on when we might finally see RC? Has anyone heard anything new or picked up any rumors lately?

Man, you really need to check the last couple of posts... if you had, you'd already know the answer... The RC is out... we're just waiting on RC2 now... if there even is one... Maybe an RTM is next...👍

So, I was just wondering, did they actually end up fixing that weird little bug in the RC version involving the floppy drive? Like, I guess you know what I mean—is it still doing that annoying thing where it checks the floppy drive every single time you try to open my Computer?
