So, here’s what less than two months of "consistent" running has done for me 😁

I figured I’d get this out there before old age finally catches up with me—assuming it doesn't first. I don't hit the gym, nor have I ever. I've got man boobs (excess fat on the chest)—how do I fix this? Though they have tightened up lately.

Hey there, fellow forum members!

I have a photo I’m sharing today because I really think it deserves a spot on this board for several different reasons.
First off, that isn't me!🙂
She’s a regular here—a forum member who stays very active with her fitness routines, though she usually spends most of her time hanging out in other sections of the community.
Now, since we are close friends on here, and since I tend to spend quite a bit of my time... well, scrolling through photos (sometimes perhaps a little too much!😁), I wanted to share this one. Of course, I have her full permission and the moderator's blessing to post it.
image

So, what makes this specific photo so special?
You might be thinking "nothing at all," but I respectfully disagree.😉

The woman in this shot has been dedicated to staying active almost her entire life. What’s truly impressive is that she could easily be a mother to many people in this group; she’s actually 47 years old.
And honestly, she looks absolutely fantastic.
I’ve been nudging her for a while now to post more photos, just so the younger crowd around here can see how incredible you can look well into your later years.

I know the photo is a bit modest, but she’s a shy person by nature, so maybe this will encourage her to share a few more down the road.🤷

Her main goal is simply to maintain her current shape for as long as possible and prevent any unwanted softness in her arms. Naturally, she just wants to hold onto the great physique she has right now.🙂
She mentioned wanting to tone up her legs a bit more, but given how much walking she does, that might be a tall order. She is an incredibly passionate hiker.👍

Here is one more photo I practically begged for, just so she wouldn't think I was implying she looks worse from behind: 😉

She even has an adult child who is already out there working for the very people she used to worry about! 😉

In any case, I tip my hat to her. 🎩

Thanks again to Sheeva and to the forum for being so understanding of my little detour from our usual topics.👍
As for the rest of you, keep those photos coming!
👋

Personally, I always enjoy scrolling through everyone else's "before and after" transformations—it’s so motivating. Since I’m actually pretty close to my target weight myself, I figured I’d share my own progress shots with you all. There’s a six-month gap between these two photos. Moving forward, my training is going to shift focus toward building and sculpting muscle; I have no intention of dropping much more weight or sliding back into old habits 😬

Been grinding away at push-ups and planks for about two months now. Before this? Absolutely nothing. Just life getting in the way, laziness, you know how it is... I’m actually thinking about hitting the local Gold's Gym again soon after a two-year hiatus. Though, looking back, I've had these little bursts of motivation before where I'd go for a few months and then just quit entirely, so if I actually stick to it this time, it'll be a miracle. This was shot on an old 0.3 megapixel camera, so the quality is pretty trash.
If I finally get my act together and join a gym, I'll post some updated shots once I've put in some real time. Honestly, these pecs showed up way faster than I expected, haha.

So, less than two months of light warm-ups and focusing on chest work, and here's the result:

Let's be real here...
I've officially started a diet and a workout routine. The goal is simple: get back in shape.

Here are a few shots of where I'm at right now. My plan is to work on my chest, firm up my glutes, tone my arms, and finally burn off that extra layer of fat I picked up over the summer... but first, I really need to put on some actual weight. 😁

I’m about 5'11" and weighing in around 170 lbs. Since September, I’ve been eating like there’s no tomorrow and crushing weights, hoping to pack on maybe 15-20 pounds if everything goes according to plan. This is the current situation. 🙄

At the end of the day, being fit matters most to me—being able to knock out 40 or 50 pushups and run a few miles without collapsing. But this year, I'm really going to try to focus on building some muscle mass. 😁 (personal)

Alright, let's get to work. 😁

I hit the gym pretty consistently for about two years until this past April—though, if I'm being honest, I was only actually training seriously for maybe six months of that. 😛
These days, I'm mostly just hitting some workouts out at Central Park once or twice a week, plus getting on my bike at least twice.

My whole focus used to be bulking up, but after grinding for two or three months without gaining a single pound—despite watching my diet and keeping up with protein and carbs—I switched gears to cutting. That didn't exactly go smoothly either, so now? I don't really have any specific goals left. 😁

It’s been a while since I checked in, and honestly, my sleep schedule has gone completely out the window, though things aren't all bad... 🙂

Currently sitting at about 195 pounds, and my gym feels smaller than ever. 😁

The workouts have been absolutely brutal. 😬

I forgot to mention that I’ve mostly cut out meat. Maybe twice a week at most. 🙂

Thought I’d jump in here too. 😁 I’m the younger brother of rickeyike. I’ve been dedicated to the bulk for 17 years now. 🤦 😁 Started my cut two months ago and dropped 28 pounds; currently sitting at 245 lbs. Just to brag a little, we had a tug-of-war competition recently—out of eight of us, I took third place. For context, everyone there was over 28 years old and weighed at least 265 lbs. 😁image

Just one of my "normal" days. image
Picked up a new 220 lb weight set today. Heading to the gym to see where I stand on deadlifts and squats; I’m aiming to hit 220 on both.

A quick little update
image

Here’s how things are looking; I really wish I could get a better shot than this!
image image

You can still see some excess skin on my inner thighs near the knees, but honestly, I’m quite pleased with the progress. Just a few months ago, I didn't have any muscle tone at all.😁

Here I am. Finally worked up the nerve to post a few photos.
I’m actually new to this section of the forum. After three years of being pretty much sedentary—mostly just laziness mixed with way too many overtime hours at the office—I’m finally getting back into shape and focusing on my health.
Growing up, I was always active in sports. During my freshman year of college, I hit the gym consistently for about a year. Lately, I’ve been loosening up with some running and cycling. I also have a single dumbbell at home to prep my muscles for more intense training once I finish my exams and land a steady job. Once I have the budget for a proper gym membership, I'll be ready to push harder through the fall and winter.
To cut to the chase, here are some shots:
5'9", 165 lbs, BMI around 24, 22 years old.

I took these on my phone in my bathroom this past Friday, so the quality isn't great. I promise to put more effort into the lighting and setup next time.
My goal is to shed some fat, get more definition, and eventually bulk up to around 185-200 lbs. Of course, I'm in no rush—there's no hurry on my end 😁. I plan to do everything through a solid combination of clean eating and consistent training, so all comments, critiques, and suggestions are more than welcome.

One last thing: I've been reading through this part of the forum for a few days now, and after thoroughly browsing this thread, I just want to say to everyone posting their progress: respect. Your persistence and discipline are seriously motivating. Thank you for that.

This is actually my very first time posting on this subforum, though I’ve been quietly lurking and reading all your posts for a while now 👍
I was looking back at some photos from last year—honestly, there are just way too many of them floating around—and I realized I've put on a little bit of weight recently.

image

So, just to give you some context, I’m about 5'4" and weighing in at 117 pounds; does that sound like I'm carrying too much extra weight?

Took this last week... I still have a bit of a gut to work through—but I'm planning to tackle it head-on over the next few months
