So what’s the point of $67, if you're just looking at the local parts and ignoring everything else?

GPU $17... processor $20... some old case and power supply $20... hard drive $27... RAM $17... I guess $300 tops.

Spare parts are basically like a relic from a bygone era—they have almost zero market value. The real headache today isn't just the part itself, it's actually finding a customer willing to pay for it.
It’s no different than trying to offload an eight-year-old smartphone; you’d be lucky if someone offered you even $17 (even though it's still technically worth more than that)

backup said:there isn't actually a monitor included—I just wiped the listing clean, and honestly, at this rate, it might take a trek up Mount Everest to find a better deal.
so what’s the point of $67, if all you're getting is a high-end GPU and nothing else to show for it?

Take a look at the classifieds, Craigslist or whatever—you can find way better rigs than yours for that kind of cash. And trust me, they're out there everywhere.

Benjamin King2 said:$67 case + $300 monitor (my bad, didn't catch the monitor in there)

CPU - 500
GPU - 300
RAM - 250
Drive - approx 400
PSU - 450
Mobo - 200-250
Case - 250
Monitor - 300-350

And honestly, who's actually gonna buy this? I mean, that's way too much cash to be dropping on a used rig...

I mean, you could probably hunt around for some deals—not that I know exactly where, but that’s roughly how much those components are running these days. Just throw $2,500 into the pot for the whole setup and see how things shake out.

Also, give it a shot and flash some new firmware onto that toaster—maybe that'll kick it back into gear. Or, you know, maybe the thing is just totally fried.

Any idea what I could realistically get for this pile of parts:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2100 MHz
RAM: 3 GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
HDD: Seagate Barracuda (232 GB)
PSU: LPK2-23 400 w

What’s a realistic price tag for this setup?

Intel Core i5 with ASUS
ASRock z77 extreme4
Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb
msi 660ti OC 2gb
ssd 128gb ocz vertex4
xfx pro 550w
hdd seagate 1tb green
cooler master case with a hot-swap bay (can't recall the exact model)

Asking because work is looking a bit shaky right now, so I don't want to undersell myself if I have to let this go.

If anyone can give me a real estimate—and what kind of price I’d need to hit to move it by tomorrow—let me know.

thanks

Got a quick question... if I'm looking to bump up my memory and I'm currently running 2 x 1GB Patriot DDR2 800, CL4, do they have to be the exact same brand, latency, and all that? Or could I just throw in two 2GB sticks that are also 800MHz but maybe CL5 instead?

I've run into some RAM issues before—I tried matching up the latencies perfectly, but I ended up picking a different manufacturer. One time, I actually missed the mark entirely; my PC just wouldn't boot because the sticks weren't playing nice together, so I had to take them all back.
After a few months, I decided to try my luck again and picked up some Patriot memory. It ended up working flawlessly with the rest of the modules in my rig—all five of them worked perfectly. Honestly, if you have the chance to test them out before you commit to buying, you should definitely do it. It’ll save you from having to make two trips back to the store like I did.

Just shave about 15% off whatever total you see in your bank account. Honestly, the rig is basically brand new and still under warranty—you should have zero issues moving it.

Could use an estimate, please

It should move for $2,500, maybe even $200-$100 more than that.

And, honestly, it’s a bit more than that last one—it’s got an extra half-kilo of RAM, a larger hard drive, and a dedicated Wi-Fi card, though it does rely on integrated graphics. I'd say around $300-$350.

Do you have the case and motherboard info too?
And which exact card is it—could be a 6850, 6870, or 6890?

Could I get a ballpark estimate on this rig?

CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K @ 3.00 GHz paired with some massive Zalman cooler
Motherboard: ASRock G41C-GS
RAM: Corsair 2 x 2 MB PC2-6400 (DDR2, passive heatsink)
HDD: Seagate 500 GB (7200 RPM, SATA)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 1GB GDDR5
Case: Antec P182 (black)
PSU: Corsair 450VX
DVD-RW: Pioneer DVR-212D (black)

I’ve also got an EVGA GeForce GTX series sitting right here on my desk... is that thing actually worth anything?

The motherboard and the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 are maybe a year older than the rest, which I think is about 4+ years old.

Thanks

You wrote 6870 above, but then listed 6850 below 😕—so which one are you actually running at the end of the day? 🤷(Or do you somehow have both)
