Yes, the case and power supply are included in the price... though it doesn't come with Windows. I'll go ahead and drop the price then. Thanks!

Look, you might actually have to drop the price even further $167 to make it move. It really just comes down to supply and demand. You're looking at a pretty old machine here, and there are tons of similar builds hitting the market for much less. Since nobody is really hunting for these specific specs anymore, it all depends on whether you stumble upon the right buyer... Honestly, it’s basically a "take what you can get" situation.

If they offer me $250, I'll likely agree to it

I'm currently torn between these two computers. Should I go with the Intel processor or stick with an Athlon? All the other specs look identical to me.

Or maybe this one instead...

Honestly, you’re better off building the PC yourself—piece by piece. Just start a new thread under the desktop computers section, let us know what your budget looks like, and the guys will help you put together a solid list.

Is there actually a significant price gap if I were to build one myself from scratch? This pre-built option seems much more straightforward to me, and the specs look solid. Plus, they offer two-day shipping, a two-year warranty, and I can just split the cost into six monthly payments.

Yeah, it's huge, but you end up getting way worse components for the same price. It’s a total rip-off, I guess.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark figure on what a used PC with these specific components might be worth on today's market:

C2D EG420
4GB RAM
320 GB HDD
NVIDIA 7900 GS
DVD/RW
ASUS PFB DELUXE
Antec Case 500W
Windows 7 and Office 2007

(Note—this doesn't include the keyboard, mouse, or monitor)

Also—and I'll be honest here—is it even remotely a good idea to go down the rabbit hole of using some pirated version of Windows or Office that might come bundled with it?

A couple hundred bucks? If we’re talking about a Celeron 420, then honestly, it’s not worth a dime—just some single-core junk that can barely handle basic web browsing. Besides, that processor you mentioned doesn't even exist. And the motherboard is a P5B deluxe.

Feel free to elaborate on that last point, though—what exactly do you consider "smart"?

Look, the police aren't going to kick down your door just because you're using a pirated version of Windows or Office—it’s not quite like that. But, if you haven't actually installed them yet, you'll just be stuck dealing with those constant, annoying pop-ups telling you to activate the software...

Honestly, my biggest fear is being exposed online as some casual user who just sticks to basic Windows, Office, and AutoCAD...

Apparently, there’s some talk that AutoCAD might actually ping your location over the internet if it isn't a legitimate license...🤷

That’s just campfire stories—if there's even any truth to it. Do you really think the police are going to run a single program and then just show up at someone's door? Honestly, there's no reason to worry...

The police aren't raiding a residential user's house, sure, but an IRS audit or a business inspection? Yeah, they'll show up... and hit them with a massive fine.😬

That’s a whole different conversation altogether... I’m really just talking about the average home user here.

Of course, if you're running a business, you absolutely need to stay licensed. But as an individual—just a regular home user—you really shouldn't have to sweat it. If that weren't the case, every single person in America with a PC would be facing legal trouble every single day.

Since this is just for home use—meaning I can get away with whatever I want without anyone breathing down my neck—it shouldn't be an issue at all...

What kind of price could I realistically expect for this setup?

Thanks for all the feedback on the value; I ended up selling it for $2,600.
