I’m hoping this is the right place to pose a question... about two months ago, I picked up a used desktop from a local computer shop. They swapped in a fresh drive before handing it over, installed Windows 10, and so far, everything seems to be running perfectly fine. However, I’ve noticed something a bit peculiar. Since my case sits on an elevated surface, I have a clear view of things—specifically, the air blowing out of the rear exhaust fan is always quite cool, even noticeably chilly, unless I start playing music or any kind of audio. I’m using these small Genius SP desktop speakers—actually, I have two different pairs, so I’ve tested this on both. After about a minute or two of playback, the air coming from the exhaust suddenly turns very hot. This heat persists for the entire duration of the audio, regardless of how loud I set the volume. Interestingly, the exterior of the case itself doesn't feel warm to the touch. I haven't experienced any spontaneous restarts or sudden shutdowns, which is a relief. Once the music stops, the air goes back to being cool after a couple of minutes. As far as I can tell, the audio cables, the speakers, and the sound card all feel perfectly normal and cool to the touch.
Do you think this is something I should be genuinely concerned about in the short term, in your professional opinion?
