Timothy Kim60 said:I don't think that's actually realistic because people are asking $467 for a GTX 1070... Plus, the modern equivalents like the 1660ti go for about $690... though you'll always find some guys willing to pay even more, obviously.

Looking at it from another angle—the modern equivalent to the GTX 1080 would be something like an RX 5700XT, which sits around $1200. Given that, finding a used counterpart with a warranty for roughly $2200-$2300 seems like a pretty fair starting point.

Man, an 1660ti is basically a GTX 1070

Adam Moore3 - Honestly, the 5700XT is much closer to a 1080ti; the 5700 sits right around the level of a GTX 1080. Either way, if you ask me, it's way $667 overpriced

I just can't see why anyone would buy them at those prices

I'm looking to pick up a GTX 1060 for around $150 or less, depending on the specific model... and how much warranty is left, but I need at least 1 year 😬

So far, nothing worth buying has popped up. 🕺

Thanks for all the input, everyone!👍
I think I’ll try listing it for 2000 once I actually find a spare minute to get the ad posted.

Hey everyone, the day has finally arrived where I have to part ways with my old rig and pick up something new.
Here is the current setup. I'm trying to figure out what kind of asking price is realistic for this machine. Everything is about 4 years old now.

Fractal Core 2300 Case

Intel Core i5 4590, 3.3GHz
Sapphire R9 270 dual-X OC Boost, 2GB GDDR5
Kingston DDR3 HyperX Fury, 1866mHz, 8GB(2x4GB)

ASRock hH97-PRO4
Fortron Hyper 700w

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 64MB 7200 SATA 6Gb/s
OCZ SSD ARC 100 120GB

Thanks! 🙂

I picked up an identical laptop for about $130 a few years back—it was practically mint, honestly looked like it had never even been touched—so now I'm wondering, did I overpay?

I think since the warranty is up and the battery is hitting that three-year mark, we're realistically looking at about $267

Hey there! Any idea what I could get for this setup:
FX 8300 and LC-CC 95
Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
Sapphire R9 280 triple-x 3gb
HyperX 8gb 1600mhz ram
1TB wd blue
Fortron hyper 500w Zalman Z3
Zalman Z3+

I picked this up about 4 years ago, and honestly, it still works perfectly without any issues at all!

First thing I did was check if I was even responding to a post from 2017. 😁 Honestly, I don't think anyone would hand over even a cent $133 for a used FX 8300 paired with an LC-CC-95 when you can walk into Best Buy and grab a much better, newer Ryzen 3 1200 $130 with a decent stock cooler and a full warranty. If he manages to snag even half of what he's asking, he should probably go buy a lottery ticket.

Lenovo Z50-70

Intel Core i3 4030U
8GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 840m 2 + Intel(R) Graphics Family 1000
1000GB HDD
15.6 FULL HD

I was wondering how much I might be able to get for this laptop, or rather, what would be considered a fair asking price? I guess maybe I could squeeze somewhere around a couple hundred bucks out of it? 🤔
It’s in pretty excellent shape, both functionally and cosmetically, and I originally picked it up back in August 2015.

Give me a realistic estimate:

Intel Core i5-6500
8GB DDR4 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
1TB HDD
250GB SSD

Picked this up back in January 2018.

CPU's running around $350-$133
RAM at $67
GPU depends on the specific model and what kind of warranty you're looking at—roughly $367
HDD - $50
SSD - $50

That's way overpriced for a graphics card, honestly. You can find a few decent options on eBay right now $300.

Greetings, everyone!

I was wondering if you all could tell me if the following PC setup is actually worth $900.
P.S. Just to be clear, I’m not the one selling this; I’m looking at buying it from someone else.

Ryzen 3 - 4 cores - 4 threads
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB ASUS dual fan - White edition
8 GB DDR4 RAM - brand new
240 GB SSD - brand new
500 GB HDD
500 W Fortron Power Supply
Asrock A320M HDV r4.0 Motherboard
+ some sort of case, looks fairly professional
Comes with Windows 10 Pro

Anyway, please let me know what you think... thanks!

P.S. I'm not selling, just looking at something some guy is putting up for sale.

Not really. Off the top of my head, you could build something better by mixing new parts with a used GPU.

Regarding the Windows 10 Pro—if you're buying this for a business, you need receipts for both the hardware and the OS, otherwise, it’s practically worthless.

wiredotter14 said:Actually, I wouldn't say that. Just speaking from experience, building a new rig around a used graphics card often turns out to be a slightly better deal overall.

If you're buying Windows 10 Pro for a business, you absolutely need valid receipts for both the hardware and the software; otherwise, it's basically worthless for compliance purposes.

So, what is the actual realistic value then?

In my estimation, I'd be willing to pay somewhere between $2,200 and $2,300, assuming the case is actually decent and built well.

Hey guys, quick question—any idea what kind of cash I could grab for an Intel Core i5-7600 paired with an Asus Prime Z270P motherboard? Trying to figure out if it's worth my time. Thanks a ton for any help!
