I was just sitting here thinking about how my friend and I finally realized one of our girlfriends sometimes smells absolutely revolting. We couldn't even put our fingers on it at first because it wasn't just regular sweat—it was something way more intense and gross. Now I’m starting to think she might be one of those people who just stops washing up during her period.🤷

What a load of nonsense...🤷
My mom used to feed me that same line, too—not that I actually listened, obviously. I mean, sure, for the first couple of days I’d avoid even touching my hair, and on day one, I wouldn't even bother showering because the pain was so intense I could barely drag myself out of bed.🙂

It seems like people are risking hospital visits just from washing their hair, while at the drugstore, they're searching for ways to avoid frequent washes altogether. 😁

What kind of acid would you even have to be using if you haven't showered in two days? Gross. 😁

I’ve only ever heard this kind of nonsense from people out in rural Alabama..
You aren't supposed to swim or wash your hair, but you can just jump right into the ocean?! Are people seriously living in the Stone Age? I get that grandmas and moms used to say this stuff, but we have the internet, magazines, and TV now. Do people just refuse to read or listen to anything? I don't mean to be rude, but it's no wonder things are such a mess in those small southern towns, with all these teen pregnancies... If people still believe you shouldn't wash while on your period, who knows what other myths they believe about sex and pregnancy when information is everywhere—on the internet, in books...

Well, Matthew told me that if they just wash up right after sex, there’s absolutely zero chance she’ll end up pregnant 😁

Oh boy, here I go. Time to hop in the shower—I clearly need it. There's no escaping this one. 😁

I don't care how many old wives' tales people try to feed me—I only swear by one. During the winter months, I absolutely refuse to go barefoot. My mother gave me that advice years ago, and honestly? She was right. Every single time I ignore her and walk around without slippers, I end up dealing with agonizing muscle cramps. Why would anyone risk that?

Slippers are always a solid choice, aren't they? They're my go-to. The only exception is when the heat becomes absolutely unbearable—but even then, you really shouldn't be walking around barefoot on cold floors. It just feels wrong.😁

You can't swim, you shouldn't wash your hair, but somehow it's fine to jump in the ocean?! Are people seriously living in the Stone Age? I get that our grandmas or moms used to say stuff like that back in the day, but we have the internet, magazines, TV—don't people actually read or listen to anything anymore? I don't mean to be rude, but it's no wonder things are a bit chaotic in those tiny rural towns out West... you see so many teen pregnancies there. If people still believe you shouldn't wash yourself while you're on your period, who knows what other myths they're clinging to regarding sex and pregnancy when all this info is right there in books and online...

I remember hearing that too, just from some girl from the Deep South, and I was honestly speechless. I didn't even know that kind of ridiculous stuff existed until I moved away for college.
The whole vibe was just so unsettling—I was staying in a dorm in Washington, D.C., during that turn of the millennium, looking at this woman who's clearly going to be a lawyer, a manager, or a professor... [dopiši: _______], and she's standing there dead serious, convinced you aren't allowed to wash your hair or shower while you're on your period.😲

..oh man, don't even go there... I actually get a little nauseous just thinking about it😲😠..and then you have guys like him who breeze through college, land high-level executive jobs, and are totally respected by everyone... it's honestly ridiculous

What kind of nonsense can you even read here😂? Honestly, I don't care if it was my first day, my hundredth, or day 789—I just went through my usual routine. I worked out, went for a swim, hit the slopes... not to mention doing my laundry, showering, and keeping up with all those basic healthy hygiene habits you know? It’s just standard stuff... 🙄

Man, I remember hearing this kind of nonsense back in middle school when everyone was obsessed with puberty. We were just kids and prone to believing basically any crap we heard, so I don't know why this would be any different. Maybe moms shouldn't have said anything at all since the rumors were already flying through our friend groups—usually spiced up with those ridiculous horror stories, like "my mom's distant cousin died from washing her hair" or whatever. It was right up there with the ghost stories we used to swallow whole back then 😬

I’ve been washing my hair and showering since day one, and I mean literally: that day, I read some article about people who take ice baths because it's supposedly healthy, which inspired me to jump straight into a tub full of ice water (total idiot 😁 ) and stay in there for a good thirty minutes (even bigger idiot 😁 ) because it said you actually start feeling warm after 20 minutes 🙄 (yeah, maybe if you're swimming in a lake, not sitting in a tub). If I had started my period earlier that day, I wouldn't have realized it until I got out of the tub and checked my underwear. 🤣
😵

Anyway, after that disaster, I wasn't buying into the hype that something terrible would happen if I showered, washed my hair, or went for a swim in the ocean. 🥳

Don't swim, don't wash your hair, but somehow you can just jump into the ocean?! Are people seriously living in the last century? My grandma used to tell me how her great-grandmother wouldn't even let her go into the garden near the vegetables while she was on her period because she thought it would make the crops fail 😂...that's the kind of stuff you hear in the rural South...(this story is about 70 years old)

But then my friends from the Midwest would try to teach me how washing my hair was dangerous, yet the only two pregnant teenagers I actually met were from the South and the Great Plains...that's how much you can trust those regional stereotypes...(this story is only 5 years old)

God help us! 🙂
Please, just look out for these clueless women who actually think they’re going to drop dead from taking a shower or washing their hair during their period; let's try to prevent them from dying of an infection, shall we?
Thank You!

I mean😂😂😂😂😠😠😠😠:mad :😠 SERIOUSLY, WHERE ON EARTH DO YOU GIRLS COME FROM?!!!

And no, don't bother washing—it's clearly bad for you. It’s much better to just let the bacteria down there settle in and create a lovely little breeding ground for all sorts of nasty diseases. Oh, and whatever you do, don't accidentally brush your teeth during that time of the month—they might just fall right out! Aha!
That's all from me

I first heard this nonsense about not washing during your period from my very first college roommate, who always smelled absolutely revolting... thank God I finally got rid of her after a month 🙄
During my period, the only thing I avoid is soaking in a bathtub because it makes my bleeding last longer, but I wash up every single time I change a pad and I'm still alive... as for my hair, I just wash it whenever it gets dirty, regardless of what day it is 🤷

It isn't just about avoiding hair washing during your period; you also have to hold off during ovulation. And let's be clear—that includes the entire fertile window as well.

It’s not even really about swimming, but: I remember this one girl back in high school who was convinced she was going to have a stroke if she did PE class while on her period.🤣

I’ve heard people say you shouldn't eat licorice because it might cause increased bleeding,

Is that because of the red pigment? ... You better watch out with strawberries, red bell peppers, and especially tomatoes too
