Lmao, please... what a joke...
How does anyone even function without showering for 7 days straight? 😲😲😲 Gross. 🙂
Same goes for washing your hair 😲😲. I mean, if I skip just 3 days, my hair feels absolutely trashed, let alone going a full week
without touching it.
...So wait, does this mean we can't even touch ketchup while we're dealing with this stuff 😁

Honestly, please, that’s nothing.
I had this acquaintance—who happens to be a physical therapist, by the way—tell me you shouldn't even touch your hair with shampoo for at least three weeks after giving birth.☕, when she’s supposedly the only 🙄 expert in the room. I’ve heard this nonsense from plenty of other "educated" women too, but whenever I ask them to give me just one single logical reason why you can't wash your hair, they just hit me with that classic, dismissive, "you'll see when you're there" line.
I didn't experience any of that🤷; I actually washed my hair barely two hours after I gave birth.☕

Whether it's true or not, I just can't deal with it... if I go more than three days without washing my hair and taking a shower, I lose my mind. It’s absolutely unthinkable to me.

Kate Alvarez78 said:Are you seriously trying to avoid showering for the first two days??😲 😲THAT IS DISGUSTING.
I shower, I wash my hair, I even dye it—it doesn't matter to me one bit.

I actually asked my grandmother about this, and she told me the old-school rule isn't that you can't wash at all, just that you shouldn't take full baths; apparently, quick showers are fine according to those old folk remedies. ☕

Look, regardless of what anyone says, I physically cannot bring myself to shower during those first two days of my period. At that point, I don't even have the mental capacity to handle two basic steps, let alone navigate my way around the bathroom.
I suffer from endometriosis, so the cramps I deal with are absolutely debilitating... they completely wipe me out. It’s gotten to the point where I actually pass out sometimes, so honestly, I rarely manage to get up at all.

The pain has become significantly more manageable since I started taking birth control pills.
During my cycle, I maintain my usual daily shower routine.🙂
My hair washing habits remain completely unchanged as well.
The only thing I skip is my bodyweight training, simply because running or walking feels uncomfortable during that time, and frankly, I just lack the motivation.🤷

In India, women don't even wash their hair during the entire pregnancy... so we're talking about a full nine months

😲 That is terrifying.....

As for all these other myths, I know an acquaintance who is convinced that if she misses her period, she just needs to drink something red to get things moving.... 🤣

Wow, what a flashback 🤣

I remember once nearly getting into a huge argument with a close friend because I was trying to explain that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with showering or washing your hair while you're on your period...

She wouldn't listen to me... she just insisted it was true because her mother told her it was forbidden... and in her mind, that made it an absolute rule. 😳

A friend of mine—a physical therapist, mind you—actually told me you shouldn't even wash your hair for three weeks after giving birth.☕, when she's the only 🙄 I've heard that from. Honestly, I’ve heard it from plenty of "educated" women too, but whenever I ask for one single logical reason why hair washing is off-limits, all I get is the classic: "Just wait and see."
Total nonsense.🤷 I didn't see any issues☕; I washed my hair barely two hours after having my kid.

Exactly...it's like people still think women should be giving birth in some random bathtub or a pool somewhere...I mean...seriously...comment on that if you can...🙄 😂

She didn't listen—simply because her mother told her it wasn't allowed... and if Mom says no, then it's a hard no. 😳

Right... because Mom is the ultimate authority and you just have to obey.🙏

Betty Gomez10 said:So I'm chatting with a friend this morning about our plans for tonight—she's on her period. Right in the middle of talking, she starts complaining about how greasy and gross her hair feels, but she says she can't wash it. 😲 I was totally baffled, like, "Why not?" And she tells me you aren't supposed to wash your hair or even shower while you're on your period. Apparently, her grandma told her that and strictly forbade her from doing any of that during those days. 😕
Look, I've been dealing with my period for 8 years now and I'm pretty sure that's just total nonsense—I shower and wash my hair like normal every single month... and nothing bad ever happens (not that I even know what's supposed to happen, I mean, it's basically just basic hygiene 🤷). What do you guys think? Did your grandmas try to feed you that same old garbage?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
wherever those backwater hillbillies came from to tell me that 🙄

It's totally wild—since they wear headscarves over there anyway, you can't even tell what their hair looks like. They could go 5 months without washing it and nobody would know.🤣🤣

I suppose I might start feeling an intense itchiness after about a week; if I were to go nine months without washing my hair, I imagine I would end up scratching my scalp until it bled.

Forty days. Forty damn days. It’s not just about hair—it’s everything. I can’t even look at myself in the mirror, let alone my kid. I won't even open the windows. I'm not setting foot outside this house if I can help it.

Just you wait.

Man, 😁 I’m not even saying I feel dead, it’s more like I actually died about ten years ago 😁

Like, whenever my period hits, I’m basically washing my hair and... just imagine... I’m having to rinse off several times a day (whether it's over the sink or using wet wipes) 😲 😁 😁 😁

🙂

My mother actually told me the exact same thing. Though, to be fair, she was specifically talking about washing my hair rather than taking a full shower. She made sure to explain that I might deal with more intense pain or muscle cramps if I tried to wash my hair during those first couple of days... but honestly, I don't usually pay too much attention to those kinds of warnings...🙄

...

What if it rains while you're on your period? Is that going to be fatal? 🤣 🤣 🤣

A friend of mine is absolutely convinced that if her period is running late, she needs to lift something heavy to "get things moving." I actually watched her try to hoist a massive wood-burning stove right in front of me. Whether that actually did anything? Who knows. 🙄

🤣

Some girl in my class—who used to swear that skipping food all day would definitely jumpstart your cycle (though I think she still had water in the morning!)—is actually being super chill about it now according to this 🤷 😁 😁
