No, seriously, goldenfox24—is that just for you, or is there some hope for us hungry people too? 😁

My little trick is basically mixing some "real" protein into the tub from Dietary Supplements Corp... you know, just to keep the peace at home.

😬

I mean, honestly, anything from Dietary Supplements Corp is better than nothing at all.🤣

Wait, what do you mean by "keep the peace at home"?

I mean, it’s probably because they’re overpriced! 😁
I remember buying this vanilla protein from Dietary Supplements Corp once—honestly, at first, the flavor wasn't even bad. But after maybe three or four shakes, I got so sick of it that now, just catching a whiff of that powder makes me want to gag!
And the kicker? According to the nutrition facts, it’s basically identical to those high-end, expensive proteins! 🙂

Hey, respect to everyone here, but honestly, this place is such a mess sometimes—you read one thing, then the complete opposite, and you end up totally lost. I don’t want to start some massive new thread just to ask this, but I’ve got a specific question. I’m way too skinny for my height right now—I’m about 143 lbs and standing around 5'11". I eat maybe 4 or 5 times a day, but I’m wondering if I’m screwing up by skipping breakfast? Sometimes I just can't stomach food first thing in the morning, or I accidentally sleep through it... it doesn't happen often, though. So, I'm thinking about dropping some cash on that Whey protein everyone keeps raving about, but I have no clue if it'll actually help. I'm planning on grabbing like 22 lbs of it. I even bought some home gym equipment to get stronger, and I've put on a little mass, but I'm not looking to get shredded or anything—I just want to get powerful. My main question is: do I just need to eat more? And if I buy all this Whey, am I still supposed to be eating more food on top of taking it, or what's the deal?

If protein actually made you fat, a chicken would hatch out of an egg looking like a grizzly bear in hibernation.

The truth is, you can definitely pack on some extra weight from protein alone; it really just comes down to how much you're consuming overall.

If your goal is actually building mass, you’ve got to put in heavy work at the gym and eat significantly more than you think you need.

If you actually want to pack on some serious mass, you’ve got to put in the work at the gym—and then you have to eat even more than you think you need to. It really comes down to that balance of high-intensity training paired with a massive caloric surplus.

I agree—but you’d honestly have to shovel them down in massive quantities to see any real results, which is something most people just aren't going to commit to.

Exactly. I guess that explains why there aren't nearly as many serious lifters out there as you'd think... 🙄>

Well, I seem to pick up a different brand of Whey every single time I shop. Honestly, I feel like I've cycled through about 75% of the different types of Whey available on the market here in the States 🤣, and I make it a point to steer clear of the junk brands like Biotech or MuscleTech.

I'm really just hunting for the absolute best chocolate flavor out there. So far, my top pick has been Labrada ProV60 (man, it tastes incredible, but the price tag definitely hurts a bit...) 😍

And honestly, it's not like they're getting fat just from all those proteins.

I mean, 300g of protein is still only about 1,200 calories.
And 300g of protein is basically over two pounds of meat!

Jeremy Scott25 said:Man, I'm just reading through everything here—kudos to everyone, really—but there's so much info flying around you don't even know what to do with it. I won't start a whole new thread or anything, just curious about something: I'm kind of skinny for my height. I'm about 143 lbs and roughly 5'11". I eat maybe 4 or 5 times a day, but I wonder if it's my mistake that I usually skip breakfast? Like, I either can't eat right away in the morning or I just sleep through it, though that doesn't happen too often... anyway, I was thinking about buying some of that Whey everyone talks about, but I'm not sure if it'll actually help me bulk up. I'm trying to put on about 22 lbs. I even bought some home gym equipment and used it to get a bit stronger and gain a little mass, but not enough to be totally ripped, just want to get strong. So, should I just eat more? And if I buy that Whey, does that mean I have to eat even more food while taking it, or what?

Just hit enter next time! 😁

First things first: eat breakfast.

So, I'm looking to pick up some protein... I think I'll start with just a single pound to see how it sits with me first, rather than dropping $60 on one of those massive bulk tubs... where do you guys usually shop?$233I passed by that dietary supplement shop over on Main Street earlier, but I did some reading online and apparently, you should probably steer clear of it because of all the sugar they pack into their stuff...
Hey everyone, could you please let me know which brands you’re using and where you usually pick them up? I'm looking for some solid recommendations... basically my own personal "best buy" list... 😁
Thanks!

So, what's the deal with these proteins? Is there actually any nasty stuff hidden in them,

Give me the lowdown on this because I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to this stuff.

Those aren't actually proteins, they're more like "gainers"—basically just a bunch of carbs.
Just skip it.

Man, I already dropped cash on a whole kilo... and now you're telling me it's garbage?

Just take a look at the nutrition label and you'll see for yourself how little actual protein is in there. Honestly, you're better off just grabbing some decent Whey—ideally something unflavored or plain 🙂—and mixing it with that gainer on roughly a 1:1 ratio. That way, you can basically use the gainer as a substitute for Glucose in your post-workout shake.

And what's the big deal if I just drink this alone? Like, purely... without mixing in other proteins.
