Nah, Dymatize has been my go-to since day one—honestly the best I've used.

Sure, but what's the actual argument here?
Like, why? 😕
It’s perfectly fine! 🙂
If you ask me, MuscleTech is the biggest pile of garbage on the market! 🤣

ironwolf52 said:Can someone explain the difference between whey and stuff like Super Shake or Protein 88?
I'm heading out to grab a new bag tomorrow and I honestly don't get the distinction.
All I know is whey is 100% protein, but does it have vitamins like those other shakes? Is it fat-free or what?

Whey comes from whey, while those other ones are probably milk and egg blends...

Who actually claims they can tell the difference in protein performance? Honestly, they're lying to themselves! Just grab whatever fits your budget and call it a day.

It’s actually quite nice. 🙂
Honestly, I think Multipower is absolute garbage. 🤣

Oh, I almost forgot about Multipower too.

It’s basically just sugar disguised by a 20% protein content. That’s exactly why it tastes so good.

I'm not really sure what you mean when you talk about noticing a performance gap with protein.

Personally, I feel like there definitely are differences—I mean, it's kind of like the difference between using regular 87 octane and premium 93 octane gas for your car, right?

Personally, I’m convinced those differences are very real—it’s pretty much like the difference between using 87 octane versus premium fuel in your car.

-Steve

Look, it's not that the composition isn't different, but if you're expecting to see a massive jump in progress—or a sudden slump—just because of this... yeah, good luck with that. It's going to be a hell of a stretch to notice.

Carl Taylor said:The ingredients aren't even that different, so honestly, trying to spot a massive difference in progress just because you switched? That's gonna be super hard.

I mean, trying to see an immediate, direct impact is basically impossible. Why? Because you can't ever recreate the exact same conditions twice, even if it's just a few months apart.
Like, say you take SciTech for three months, and then switch over to Incorporated 3 for the next three. A ton of other stuff has shifted besides just what you're swallowing. Maybe your diet changed a bit. Maybe your lifestyle is different now. Even your training isn't going to be identical. Those first three months and the following three months just aren't the same scenario.

That's why I think making a direct comparison is pretty much out of the question.

But hey, that doesn't mean it's impossible to make an educated guess about it.

Personally, I'm not gonna be running my brand new Mercedes-Benz on cheap heating oil, and I'm definitely not buying half-baked products for myself.

Rachel Garcia57 said:😁 I’ve honestly just been a total lurker on this thread and others like it, but I finally decided it was time to jump in and ask for some solid advice.

So, here's the thing—I really want to look feminine, you know? Not like a bodybuilder.🙂 My hips and chest will probably stay pretty much where they are, and my waist is already small, but I’d love to actually build some real muscle in my core area. I also want to tone up my legs a bit—nothing crazy, just making them look nice and firm, not heavy or bulky—but my arms and back are already looking great!

Like I mentioned, my current routine is just running twice a week plus three sessions of aerobics, like step classes or fit boxing. Which supplements should I be looking at to get the results I'm after?🙏

Well, I guess which supplements you pick really depends on how much extra cash you're willing to drop.

Generally speaking, though, you could go with multivitamins, maybe some Omega-3s, some Vitamin C, and definitely a protein shake after your workouts (well, if your workout is even intense enough to warrant that, I suppose).
But before all that, you really have to figure out which foods to eat more of and which ones to cut back on. That's the big one.

If you're trying to build actual muscle, running and fit boxing aren't exactly the perfect choice—I mean, if you've got amazing genetics, maybe they'll work, but who knows?
You'd probably see way better results with dumbbells and weights.

If you spend three months on SciTech and then switch over to Incorporated 3 for the next three, a dozen other variables have shifted besides just the supplement. Your diet changes. Your lifestyle shifts. Even your training intensity isn't identical. Those first three months and the subsequent three are two entirely different chapters.

That’s why trying to draw a straight line between them is a fool's errand.

That doesn't mean you can't make an educated guess, though.

Personally? I wouldn't dream of running a Mercedes-Benz on heating oil once I finally buy one, and I certainly don't go shopping for half-baked, low-grade products for myself.

-Steve

Sure, but people love to talk trash about SciTech (and stuff like it), even though a massive number of pro bodybuilders swear by it. Honestly, I think there are much bigger fish to fry for any serious lifter—things like making sure the rest of your nutrition is top-tier, crushing your workouts, and actually prioritizing recovery. If you've got your diet dialed in and you're hitting your training and rest according to the playbook, it really doesn't matter which specific protein powder you're scooping.

I’m drinking protein from Dollar General🤣

My little strategy is basically just mixing some "real" protein powder into my Dollar General tub... you know, just to keep the peace at home.

😬

But honestly, I guess even the stuff from Dollar General is better than nothing at all. 🤣

I haven't heard a single good thing about those Dollar General brands.😁

Besides, aren't they actually pricier than actual whey?

My strategy? I just mix a little bit of the "real" stuff into the container from Dollar General... mostly just to keep the peace at home.

😬

Honestly, though, anything from Dollar General is still better than nothing at all.🤣

I’m pretty sure that stuff from Dollar General is just soy protein... you'd be better off hunting down something actually decent.

Wait, what was wrong with the 5lb packaging? I'm actually thinking about grabbing some myself... How much did that EAS set you back?

It’s basically just sugar masquerading as nutrition since protein is only 20%—that's why it tastes so damn good.

I wouldn't go that far, though—the label says 86%!
It isn't pure whey, but I think it's perfectly fine!
If you mix it with water, you're looking at 28 grams of protein per serving; if you use milk, you'd get more, but then you have to deal with all that... ugh... dairy stuff.
By the way, where is this "sugar" coming from if the label says there's only 1%?😕

So what am I supposed to buy instead, Dymatize? Look, flavor is actually huge for me—I can't stand anything that tastes nauseating or has that weird, chalky texture when you mix it with water. Honestly, some of those brands make me feel sick for half the day!
At least with this stuff, even if it has sweeteners, I don't end up having to lie in bed for an hour waiting for my stomach to stop acting up.☕

Generally speaking—multivitamins, maybe some Omega-3s, Vitamin C... and a protein shake after your workout (assuming that's actually how you're training).
But above all else, you need to learn which foods to prioritize and which to avoid.

If your goal is building serious muscle, running and fitness boxing aren't exactly the ideal route—though, if you happen to have great genetics, there’s a slim chance it might work.
You'd be better off sticking to dumbbells and weights.

-Stipe

Regarding that—I definitely have the good genetics🙂 btw. I've already started using dumbbells, so I'm ahead of the game😁
As for the multivitamins, Omegas, and Vitamin C—any specific brands you'd recommend?
I'm watching my diet—specifically the ratio of protein, carbs, and fats in every meal. It's borderline obsessive...🙂
Hopefully, results show up soon. I'm feeling totally pumped and confident about this!😁

That's a lie. Scitec is only good because it's loaded with sugar.
Stick to Dymatize Elite Whey or ISO100; Optimum Nutrition makes a solid Whey too.
