So, I'm looking for some protein in the $300-$$133
range. Since my workouts are pretty light, I don't need a massive dose after every session—plus, I really don't want to be shelling out cash for new tubs every two months.
Ideally, I'd find something that lasts me about a month and a half, maybe even two.
Basically, I'm prioritizing quantity here. I did a little digging and these two seem like a decent deal (or maybe it's just me?):

I noticed the first one isn't "100%"—does it actually need to be? Like, what’s the real-world difference in results? The price per ounce looks great for that amount, but I'm a bit lost on the specifics.

Any advice? Which one should I grab, or is there a third option out there?
Try to look at this from my perspective—I need something that stretches my budget as far as possible without being total junk.🤣
Can I go even cheaper than this?

Try to see it from my perspective: I need maximum bang for my buck so it lasts longer, but I don't want total garbage. 🤣
Is there any way to go even cheaper?

I don't think that's gonna cut it for you... $133 trying to make it last three months? That's a tall order. Let's face it, hitting the gym is an expensive hobby. 🙂

Personally, I knock back about 60 grams of whey a day. That means I'm burning through 2 kilos of whey a month... plus I'm tossing down casein before bed. You're working with a pretty tight budget, unfortunately...

No worries, it's all good...
Can anyone point me toward where I can pick up
this 30x30g pack?
I'm still a minor, so using a credit card is out of the question
and online shopping is a dead end too.
Where should I head to grab this with cash?
Somewhere in Chicago, maybe near downtown?

tell me where I can walk in with cash
to grab this? somewhere in Chicago, close to downtown.

hmm... maybe a GNC? 🤷

edit: and why wouldn't his protein last him three months?
I pull 40g after my workouts, which is basically every other day... why would anyone be burning through 60g a day?

That’s actually why I like this one—it’s thirty 30g servings, so the value is unbeatable, just like $77 😁
says. Honestly, I think 30g a day is plenty for me since I’m not living at the gym or anything; it's more of a side thing for me...
Plus, I’m pretty light—only about 135 lbs xD
So for my body weight, it’s definitely not going to be too much, haha

Hey everyone, I’ve got a question... how much whey should I be hitting post-workout after a full-body session? Should I stick to the usual 30g like I do after a split, or do I need to bump it up since I'm hitting every muscle group at once?

Take your body weight in kilograms and multiply it by 2 or maybe 3 to get your protein target in grams
So, if you're sitting at around 200 lbs—which is about 90kg—you're looking at roughly 180 to 270g of protein daily
That’s the rule of thumb if you're actually hitting the gym with some serious intensity xD
If your budget is a bit tight—though I'm guessing it might be—just try to set aside as much as you possibly can for it

He was actually asking about how much you need right after a workout, not just spread out throughout the day.

30 grams is plenty—that’s basically just one scoop.

That’s the rule of thumb if you're actually hitting the gym with any real intention. xD
If you can't afford that much—and let's be honest, most people can't—just aim for as much as your budget allows.

Personally, I'm pulling in about 220g on my rest days, and I bump that up to around 250g on training days to support my 160-pound frame.😂😂😂

Well, honestly, I don't exactly have money to burn xD
I mean, you'd be looking at dropping $200-$$100
every single week— I'd much rather save a bit so there’s actually some cash left over for going out 😁

So, turns out I’ve been looking at this all wrong... I honestly thought you were supposed to calculate based on lean muscle mass first—basically stripping away the fat weight. For example, if I’m sitting at 175 lbs with 15% body fat, I figured I’d just subtract 26 lbs of fat (assuming 1% body fat equals one pound) and be left with roughly 149 lbs of lean mass. Then you just multiply *that* number by two or whatever the multiplier is... right? It seems pretty logical that protein requirements are strictly tied to the muscle itself, not the extra padding.

Christian Ramirez67 said:So I guess I've been operating under a total misconception until now... I thought you had to calculate lean muscle mass first by stripping away the fat. For instance, if I'm sitting at 175 lbs with 15% body fat, wouldn't that mean I subtract about 26 lbs of fat to leave me with roughly 149 lbs of lean tissue, and then you multiply that by whatever factor? It just seems intuitive that protein requirements should only be tied to the actual muscle mass itself, right?

And honestly, we could probably spend all day debating whether you're an ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph, or dissecting the specific intensity of your training sessions...
Just hammer out six meals a day with at least 25 grams of protein per serving—aim for 30 or even 40 if you can—and you'll have more than enough to get the job done.

It just seems logical that protein requirements apply only to the muscle itself, right?

Math isn't exactly your calling, is it? 😁

15% of 180 is 27.

And even that remaining number isn't strictly "lean muscle mass."
Where do you think your bones, organs, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissue go? 😬

Anyway...
Just base your math on total body weight.

Look, I don't know about all that 😁

But I remember reading somewhere that every percentage point of body fat translates to a specific amount of poundage in fat mass...

Does whey actually assist with muscle definition... specifically when one isn't looking to bulk up, since I have zero interest in bodybuilding and therefore don't bother with those protein supplements...

Christian Ramirez67 said:Yeah, I know that... 😁

I read somewhere once that there was some kind of rule of thumb where every percentage point of body fat supposedly equals a specific amount of weight in kilograms... something like that...

Honestly, that just doesn't make any sense...

Give me two examples...

Think about a guy weighing 132 lbs at 10% body fat versus someone sitting at 265 lbs at that same 10%... just do the math...

Hello. I have just recently joined this forum. Since I am quite thin, I am considering using protein supplements, but I am uncertain which brand to choose. Furthermore, will there be any negative consequences if I stop training after some time? Thank you very much.

If you're thin, it all comes down to whether or not you actually eat enough food.

I am eating plenty, yet the weight refuses to move. Why is this happening?

If you were actually eating enough, it would show. Tossing back two sandwiches and whatever your mom whipped up for dinner doesn't count as a real nutrition plan.
