The guy is clearly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information being thrown at him...

I’ve been trying to get myself set up on the Bodybuilding.com forums—honestly, I just want to join the conversation—but for some reason, I can't seem to get that activation email to hit my inbox. It's incredibly frustrating because I can't actually jump into the discussions until that happens.

I decided to join this fitness forum, but for some reason, I'm still waiting on an activation email. It’s been stuck in limbo, so I can't actually jump into the discussions.

The registration instructions say you have to email the admin to request activation. At this rate, you'll be waiting forever. 🙂 It took me six months to figure that out. 🤣

Hey everyone,

I honestly can't remember the last time I actually saw my abs, and since I really need to drop about 15 to 20 pounds😁, I’ve been doing some digging into how to do this the right way... Just so we're clear, I have zero interest in those crazy two-week crash diets or just grabbing random protein powders from Walmart😲

From what I've gathered through some reading, combining a diet overhaul with regular exercise is the absolute key to losing body fat healthily. One technique I came across involves bumping up your protein intake—specifically using whey protein shakes occasionally—to help support muscle growth and keep your metabolism revved up while you burn fat. It's all a bit of a whirlwind of new terminology for me, and I definitely don't want to make any impulsive moves or waste my hard-earned money on stuff that doesn't work...

So, the game plan is to revamp my eating habits and start adding some protein to my shakes or oatmeal a few times a week. However, looking through all the different online shops has left me feeling totally overwhelmed by the sheer number of options out there! I've narrowed it down to a few specific products, and I would be so incredibly grateful if you could share your thoughts on them:

SPECIALIZED PROTEIN / Dieting (Universal) http://tinyurl.com/ycpsecu
This looks like exactly what I'm hunting for, though "Dieting" sounds like it might be geared toward hardcore bodybuilders?!? Plus, it happens to be the cheapest option I've stumbled upon... Is Universal a solid choice?

WHEY ELITE/909 g (Dymatize) http://tinyurl.com/ydr5u59
A few people mentioned that the flavor profile is actually pretty decent. This would probably make for a killer breakfast when mixed with some cereal...

WHEY.PRO/500 g (Pro.Nutrition) http://tinyurl.com/ybjmfpt
This is an American brand, and since it seems to be straight whey protein, I'm assuming the taste might be a little bland? 😛

Just to clarify once more, I'm not hitting up a commercial gym or trying to bulk up; my main goal is simply to shed some extra body fat. I'll probably do some home workouts with weights and other exercises to tone things up a bit, but the primary mission is to lose about 10 to 15 pounds and lean out over the next couple of months...

Thanks so much for the help!

Can't even remember the last time I actually saw my abs. Honestly, I need to drop like 15 or 20 pounds if I'm being real. 😁So, I did a little digging on how to actually pull this off without wrecking my body... Look, I'm not interested in any of those two-week crash diets or cheap protein powders from CVS. 😲

So, I was reading this book that basically says if you actually want to drop body fat, you can't just wing it—you need a solid diet paired with actual exercise. One of the big takeaways was ramping up protein intake using whey protein shakes to kickstart muscle growth, which supposedly cranks up your metabolism. Honestly, though? This whole thing feels like a foreign language. It’s just a massive pile of jargon, and I really don't want to blow a bunch of cash on supplements or make some dumb decision before I actually know what I'm doing.

Alright, I’m looking to overhaul my diet. Thinking about tossing some protein into my shakes or oatmeal a few times a week. But man, I started browsing some online shops and the sheer amount of options is honestly overwhelming. I've narrowed it down to a handful of products—if you guys could weigh in, I’d really appreciate it:

Specialized Protein / Dieting (Universal) http://tinyurl.com/ycpsecu
This looks like exactly what I’m hunting for, but is "Dieting" seriously just code for bodybuilders? Plus, this is the cheapest price I've come across so far... Is Universal actually legit?

Whey Elite / 909g (Dymatize) http://tinyurl.com/ydr5u59
A few people mentioned the taste is actually pretty decent. Probably would make a solid breakfast if you tossed it with some cereal...

WHEY.PRO/500 g (Pro.Nutrition) http://tinyurl.com/ybjmfpt
Local brand, but looks like straight whey protein, so I’m guessing it tastes pretty bland? 😛

Let me be crystal clear here: I’m not hitting the gym or trying to get jacked. I just want to drop the extra fat. Sure, working out at home with some weights and stuff will probably tone me up a bit, but my main goal is to shed about 10–15 pounds and cut down my body fat in maybe two months.

Thanks for the replies!

If you actually want to drop fat, you gotta prioritize cardio—I'm talking at least 90 minutes of hard running every single day. You also need to cut out pretty much all carbs, leaving nothing but cellulose and saturated fats on the table. Throw in 4g of Omega-3s and some Acetyl-L-Carnitine if you’re serious about it. 🙂

My cutting diet is pretty basic: cottage cheese loaded with chili powder, apples, boiled egg whites, and a ton of veggies like peppers, tomatoes, and onions tossed in a salad.
I’m sticking to tuna and sardines—they're greasy as hell, but whatever, it's mostly just omega-3s instead of all that saturated fat crap. After a run, I just knock down a vanilla protein shake from CVS.

I don't know what your body type is, but I'm an endomorph. For me, staying away from carbs is the move—I only allow myself to hit them three days a week, since you obviously need some fuel if you want your muscles to actually do anything.

If you actually want to drop weight, you need to be hitting anaerobic workouts. That's the key. As for food, I swear by the Keto diet—keep those carbs low, load up on protein, and stick to healthy fats. Simple as that.
Most body fat comes from slamming way too many carbs, not from eating too much fat. I mean, think about it—hardly anyone is out here chugging a liter of olive oil, but people will polish off a liter of Coke without even thinking twice.

I’m right there with you on the 5, but honestly, I’m aiming to get back up to 10 soon!😁

The real struggle is trying to convince my family that it isn't actually bad for you.
They act like I’m basically inviting a terminal illness just by having it around.

@Pilatus
We all know you don't even have a fridge, man.

Doesn't an egg actually have relatively low protein content?

😳

And BTW, could you go into a bit more detail on this:

Jason Campbell70 said:Wait, hold up—doesn't an egg actually have a pretty low amount of protein?

So, if I’m remembering my nutrition facts right—and don't hold me to this because I can be a total airhead sometimes—you're looking at roughly 11 grams of protein per 100 grams. And since a single egg usually weighs in at less than 100 grams, you're actually getting a little bit less than that per egg!
And I'm crushing the whole thing, obviously!

Jason Campbell70 said:By the way, could you dive a little deeper into that? I'd love some more details!

Look, five whole eggs pack at least 40 grams of protein. That’s nothing to sneeze at.

As for that glucose stuff... I could never stomach it. It practically made me gag. Now I just grab a different Gatorade and call it a day.

Wait, are you actually doing that?
Seriously though, you could end up with salmonella, and if I'm not mistaken, your body isn't even absorbing the protein nearly as well as when you actually cook your eggs.
I stick to cooked.

Ah, my bad! I thought you were saying they were total junk and weren't any good, which is why I assumed that's what you meant.
As far as I'm concerned, they work for me!

@Nicholas Kern90 - I guess it's just a matter of taste, at least for you.

Man, and here I thought there was something to it.

(According to some new findings, excessive protein intake increases the risk of cancer, heart attacks, diabetes, and osteoporosis.)

There you go.

Humans have spent millions of years eating nothing but meat (protein), fruit, and vegetables, and as far as I know, they rarely dealt with cancer.

Obviously, you shouldn't overdo it or be too restrictive. If someone lives exclusively on protein powder, they're obviously playing with fire. But if someone eats half a chicken a day along with eggs and plenty of fruits and vegetables, I believe that's perfectly fine.

Honestly, I’m done with eggs—I'd much rather just stick to tuna.
It’s getting to the point where they don't even feel like real eggs anymore. If I try to boil them, the yolk basically disintegrates, but if they actually cook through, the shells are impossible to peel. The quality is just trash; the whites end up watery or have this weird, off texture.
The whole thing is just... fake. Even back when I was buying eggs at the local grocery store ten years ago, they actually tasted decent, but these modern ones? Every single year, the quality just keeps sliding downhill. It feels like everything on the market right now comes from the exact same massive industrial suppliers—whether you're grabbing them at Walmart, Kroger, or Target, it's all the same mass-produced junk. Just total garbage.
If anyone knows a spot where you can actually find organic or farm-to-table eggs that aren't total crap, let me know—but as for these, I'm officially boycotting them.
