I suppose I prefer those leaner guys, like breakdancers where you can actually see the muscle definition.

It feels like they're mostly just doing it to impress girls or something like that.

I personally prefer leaner guys too. And I'm definitely not alone in that feeling. There are plenty of us...

Did you guys hear that?

Maybe don't overdo the bulk.

It isn't really cool.

In my opinion.

Did you hear that, fellas?

Don't go getting all puffed up about it.

It isn't cool.

Really, it isn't.

Me likes you😁
Let's not get too carried away with the off-topic chatter—we don't want to drown out this actually useful discussion.
Personally, I hit the gym strictly for myself—just to feel better in my own skin—and honestly, that's exactly what I'd recommend to anyone else.

I suppose we shouldn't stray too far from the subject so we don't clutter this great thread.
I guess I hit the gym strictly for myself, just to feel better, which is probably what I'd suggest to anyone else.

It doesn't feel off to me.

I think it's a good thing.

I imagine the mods would appreciate the sentiment.😁

The gym, a healthy lifestyle, eating well...

And maybe it would be wise to go easy on the protein supplements.

(According to some recent studies, having too much protein in your diet might increase the risk of cancer, heart attacks, diabetes, and osteoporosis.)

There you go.

I'm doing my part.

I know the mods appreciate that kind of thing.😁

Gym, healthy lifestyle, clean diet...

It would be smart to just toss those proteins in the trash.

There.

Good luck.😉

Now I'll go find some thread about nail polish—since I clearly know nothing about that either—just so I can lecture you.🤣

I'm basically doing God's work here.

I just know the mods will totally appreciate the hustle.😁>

Between hitting the gym, trying to live that healthy lifestyle, eating right...

it’d be pretty smart if you guys just tossed those protein powders in the trash.

(According to some recent studies, having way too much protein in your diet actually bumps up the risk for things like cancer, heart attacks, diabetes, and osteoporosis.)

There you go.

Wait, where is this even coming from? Is this some kind of New Year's resolution thing? 🤣
Muscle mass comes from a mix of protein, carbs, and fats combined with training.

The way I see your "new findings" playing out is like this:
Basically, you're saying if I eat too much chicken, turkey, low-fat cottage cheese, or tuna, I'm gonna get cancer.
Okay, look, I'll give you this—nothing is good in extreme excess, I totally agree on that.
So yeah, I'm with you that slamming way too much protein, amino acids, or fats isn't exactly great for you.
And we all know it can wreck your liver; honestly, they teach you that stuff back in elementary school.

But seriously, do you even know what proteins and amino acids actually *are*?

I honestly believe the core issue here—the fundamental misunderstanding—is that people have convinced themselves protein is nothing more than whatever powder they scoop out of a tub.

Maybe you should tell them.

They might be better off just sticking to chicken. 🤣

I have a question for you all.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time reading through that bodybuilding forum—you know the one—and the consensus there seems to be that taking whey immediately after a workout is some sort of absolute necessity. Yet, we discussed this right here previously, where we established that protein supplements aren't strictly mandatory. There is some guy on that forum who swears by those One Extreme proteins; apparently, a 500-gram tub costs about $47. At my current budget, that would barely last me eight days. So, let's get real: is post-workout whey actually a requirement, or is all that stuff we talked about before still the bottom line?

Look, I haven't read the whole thread, but here’s the short version. Once you're done lifting, hitting some fast-digesting protein is basically standard practice because that's what drives muscle recovery and growth. That said, you can get your protein from steak, tuna, eggs, and so on. However, whey protein paired with glucose is hard to beat; nothing else quite hits that exact mark perfectly.

Sure, you can pull protein from steak, tuna, or eggs, but nothing beats a solid Whey protein supplement, especially when paired with glucose. Honestly, nothing else provides that exact same efficiency.

So, these whey proteins aren't going to kill me after all. And you're spot on about the combo—pairing it with glucose is the way to go (apparently you can pick up those blends at GNC). Up until today, I was dead set against buying supplements. But I want to do this right—no half-measures—so it looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and buy them, even if I have to put it on my credit card. I'm done messing around; I just want to see results.

Are you hitting the gym twice a day, every single day? I don't see how you'd burn through half a kilo in just 8 days. If you're taking roughly 30 grams after a session and training about 4 times a week, that should easily last you a full month. 🤔

When I say "taking it," I’m referring to a twice-daily regimen—once immediately following your workout and again in the morning mixed in with some oatmeal.

So, what’s the deal with this Multipower Whey Professional stuff? Is it actually worth the hype, or just more overpriced powder sitting on a shelf?

What’s the verdict on Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey?

If it says WHEY in the title, don't get played.

People aren't exactly raving about it on this thread, but honestly, those posts are pretty old school.
