briskmarlin59 said:Before I really dive into heavy lifting, I want to tone upβ€”get my baseline conditioning back, you know? I found this online program designed to hit 100 push-ups, 200 crunches, and 200 squats in six weeks. Obviously, I’m not expecting to turn into a bodybuilder from thisβ€”but wouldn't it help firm things up and create a better foundation for weight training? So, I was wonderingβ€”should I knock back some whey right after?

What's the point of doing 100 push-ups, 200 crunches, and 200 squats? It's totally pointless... just do 20 solid crunches in two sets and call it a day. The same goes for everything else...

Look, if you think cutting calories is the only way to go, you could just as easily cut out a quart of milk and a couple of candy bars instead. Or grab some fruit. It’s all math.

What do you actually expect to gain from whey? Honestly, it's just more food. 😁
And let's be realβ€”you can grind through 200 sit-ups every single day if you want, but you're still going to end up with a rock-hard gut and tiny, pathetic abs. 😁

I used to be that guy, too. I was killing myself doing 4 or 5 sets of 250 crunches, wondering why my abs weren't popping, all while chugging whey like it was water. πŸ˜›

If you're gonna use whey, at least pair it with some glucose. $3.25 I'll shoot you a DM about it.

Honestly, I just want to tighten up my physique a bit and drop some body fat through some brisk walking. You have no idea how much I've fallen off the wagonβ€”right now, I can barely scrape together 10 pushups in a row. 😁

You'll be ready to go by the fall, provided that πŸ˜›

I’m not entirely sure, though I’ve heard from some folks that it takes about six weeks. If you can handle thirty reps, you might be able to knock it out in three. Here’s the link: www.hundredpushups.com

I was actually thinking about starting a dedicated thread here so you guys could follow along. My plan is to post as much as I can right from the jump, including a detailed breakdown of my progress over the first week. Honestly, I think it’s a solid way to build up a little momentum before diving into anything more serious.

Look, if you can't hit 10 reps right now, give it a week and you'll be crushing a solid set of 10 properly πŸ˜›

Honestly, I think the way to win here is to just try adding one extra rep to every single workout. If that actually works, then you're golden in my book.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. I’m planning on posting my progress updates over the next six weeks; there’s a specific training program laid out on the website. To keep things from drifting off-topic, I’ll just say I’m hitting some whey and glucose after every session to make sure my muscles get fed. I saw that Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein Gold Standard (2.3kg) is available for $100, and since it’s about half the price here in the States compared to what you'd pay elsewhere, I'm definitely grabbing it.

Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone here has heard of Sci-mentor nutrition productsβ€”has anyone actually tried them yet?
http://www.sci-mentor.com Here’s their website if you want to take a look.

I haven't tried them personally, but I've heard they're top-tierβ€”one of those heavy-hitter brands...

...but as far as I know, they aren't even sold here in the States. Where on earth did you find them?

It just holds onto some water, which isn't a huge deal if you're keeping it moderate. Besides, isn't every body just different from the next?

So, is it actually a big deal if I grab the Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein Gold Standard in a $67 2lb tub versus picking up the bulk stuff from a place like MuscleTech in a 6lb bag for $100... I mean, at the end of the day, isn't protein just protein?

Hey, could you drop the nutritional facts for that 3 for 300 deal? 😁

So, I went out and grabbed some stuff from Optimal Results just two days ago. Honestly, I’d never even heard of 😁
before this. It was a 750g tub for about $43 😁

Looks fine to me, honestly. Just make sure you double-check that it isn't soy proteinβ€”I’ve never heard anything good about soy. 😁

It's 80% whey and soy protein, meant for meal replacements or post-workout recovery.
hahahaha total fail on my part, didn't even read the label.😁

hahaha, well, what can you do? 🀣

So, I actually just finished off some Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein Gold Standard from MusclePharm the other day, and now I've picked up some Weider Bio Essentials whey protein. Just got it, too. Honestly? The taste is basically identical... maybe a tiny bit different, but who cares, really.
Also, quick questionβ€”if you're taking protein after a workout, does that mean you only take it on training days, or is it actually necessary to chug it every single day?
