Okay, just one more question and then I'm done😁

So, how intense does a workout actually need to be to justify taking Whey and glucose afterward? Especially if someone is still struggling to put on weight...?
My routine is basically three times a week in the afternoon, maybe an hour each sessionβ€”just body sculpting stuff (dumbbells, lunges, squats, core work)β€”you know, typical female fitness stuff, nothing at a gym.
(Not counting my morning cardio, either)

Sorry guys, I know I'm being a pain, I just can't seem to make up my mind

Sorry for being a pain, I just can't make up my mind.

Just take it. It’ll do more good than harm in any case... and if it doesn't suit you or you notice you're gaining fat (which isn't happening), you can just stop. It's all trial and error. You try something, if it works, great. If not, you change it.

Given your activity level, just play around with the amount of carbs and protein... if the workout was harder, bump it up. Simple as that.

Generally speaking, you want that stuff following anaerobic training sessions.

If you’re actually hitting the gym, you need to be consuming two to three times your body weight in protein. Period. That means if you weigh, say, 175 pounds, you better be aiming for 350 to 525 grams of protein every single day if you want to pack on muscle like I did... πŸ˜‰

It’s actually even more critical after aerobic stuff. In that case, you'd take roughly the same amount of protein, but way more... well, it doesn't really matter to her. She's talking about actual aerobic training, like playing soccer.

Alright folks, I need your help! Calling all protein experts and supplement gurus out there!

https://www.gnc.com

I checked this site outβ€”it’s basically everything you can grab here in the States.

So, what should I pick up if I really want to pack on some serious mass? Obviously, I'm hitting the gym hard and keeping my diet on point, too. Any recommendations?

Everything you can find at a standard US retailer is listed right here.

Thanks in advance!

Isn't that a bit much for someone just starting out? Wouldn't it be smarter to kick things off with something else first?

I'd say grab some Optimum Nutrition and some glucose. Honestly, that's more than enough to get the ball rolling. Oh, and don't forget you're going to need a shaker bottle.πŸ™‚

Can someone help me out here:
I’ve been crushing this MusclePharm for about 6 weeks now, and I just scraped the bottom of the barrel todayβ€”literally finished my last 50 grams
out of a massive 20lb tub.
- My new shipment got delayed by the mail carrier, so it won't show up until sometime next week.
Is it going to mess anything up if I take a 4 or 5-day break from my Whey and then jump right back into it?

Nah, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Nothing catastrophic is going to happen.

Can someone tell me if it's actually worth grabbing the Ultimate Nutrition 1000mg glutamine capsules (300ct) or if I should just go with the XXXL 500g powder instead? Which one is better quality? Is either of them even any good? They're both sitting at about $30 right now.

It doesn't matter if you're a beginner. The harder you push, the harder you get results. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. You just have to put in the work alongside it...

Go with the powder if you are set on buying glutamine. However, I should point out that you need massive daily doses of glutamine to see any actual benefit. That 500g container would likely last you maybe ten days, if I'm being generous.

Buy some Whey, glucose, and perhaps some creatine or BCAAs, but again, that depends entirely on your personal budget and how much you want to spend on extras.

So you're telling me 5g after training and 10g before bed isn't enough? Honestly, I only need it right after kickboxing because those sessions absolutely wreck me. I don't even think about hitting the gym as such

You really ought to be aiming for roughly 30-50g per day...

Your protein intake isn't just about how hard you push yourself in the gymβ€”it’s also heavily dependent on your body mass. Since I'm aiming for about 155 lbs, how many grams of protein should I be looking at after a 90-minute session of mixed cardio and lifting?

Nah, I was actually talking about glutamine. You told me earlier, slytrucker47, that you have to take massive amounts to see any real results, so I was wondering if just hitting 5g after my workout and 10g before bed would cut it. I get the deal with Whey.

Don't wait an hour and a half. You need to hit it ASAP because your muscles soak up way more protein within that first hour after training than they do later on.
