It’s useless. Doesn't do squat...

Honestly, it's my last resort after failing with everything from Greek yogurt and LG probiotics to tea tree oil, garlic, and all those other old wives' tales...

Just waiting on my herbal tea shipment to arrive—the stuff that actually tackles these beasts. I really want to avoid popping antibiotics if I can help it, so until then, just having this little comfort helps. A lot. 🙂

Look, I don't get it—why on earth are you taking antibiotics if there isn't even a bacterial infection? If I were in your shoes, I'd just tell the doctor "no thanks" and leave it at that...😕

Regarding fungal issues, there are some solid tips out there that actually work, provided you stay consistent over time... and by the way, nobody mentioned the underwear situation. If you haven't heard, ditch all the lace thongs and synthetic stuff immediately. Go buy a bunch of new, plain white cotton briefs. Make sure they're 100% cotton...👋

When it comes to fungal issues, there are plenty of solid tips out there that actually work, but they require persistence—it’s not an overnight fix. And by the way, since nobody seems to have mentioned the underwear situation yet: if you haven't already, ditch all your thongs and lace panties immediately. Go out and buy a bunch of brand-new, white, cotton granny panties. I cannot stress the word *cotton* enough.👋

I mean, is the doctor out of his mind? Mine prescribed me Sumamed, so I just swallowed the whole lot without thinking twice.🙂

Look, if they’re constantly pushing antibiotics on you when there isn't even a bacterial infection involved, they're being reckless...
Antibiotics aren't some magic cure-all. They are substances designed with bactericidal properties—which, for those who haven't bothered to educate themselves, means they kill off bacteria😉. However, they also wreak havoc on your natural biological flora and fauna😁. Since fungi are part of that ecosystem, you end up with a massive problem because they start multiplying out of control, and that's where the real trouble begins.👋

I’ve even switched out my OBGYN—this is actually my third one!
And man, I have spent absolute fortunes driving from one city to another just because someone told me, "Oh, this doctor is better!" They kept sending my swabs off for testing only to tell me the results would just keep coming back positive?!??! Honestly, I can't deal with it... those people are just relentless!!!! FUNGUS!!! The only thing I want near a grill is mushrooms... 😁

Ugh, it's killing me, I can't remember the doctor's name right now... damn it. But look, if you're coming from downtown Chicago, once you head toward Cleveland, about 20 minutes in, if you turn right, there’s this incredible gynecologist. I had so many issues... went through so many different doctors... and nobody could help me for years... he's just... Well, I didn't have this specific issue, but I wouldn't be surprised if yours isn't an unsolvable mess either...👋

Basically, the common consensus is that yeast infections often pop up because you've used too many antibiotics... honestly, your OBGYN's logic is a bit baffling to me.😕

You totally missed the point here!

I'm not taking antibiotics—I literally just said that;
Ashley Watson said:I don't want to deal with antibiotics, so until then, I'll just settle for some comfort, I guess.🙂

The issue is I have bacteria, not a yeast infection. Plus, I was under the impression that trichomonas (at least in my experience) mimics the exact same symptoms as fungus—just non-stop itching, you know? And honestly, it’s possible I could have both at once. If I wasn't, I'd probably end up with a yeast infection from the antibiotics anyway, which is exactly why I'm skipping them. Get it now?

Geez... do I really need to draw you a diagram here?

That’s literally my point: she put me on antibiotics because I HAVE BACTERIA. You guys getting this??

If it were fungus, I wouldn't be taking antibiotics. Is that clear, or should I get the crayons out?😉

Oh, please, give it a rest. Every woman deals with a yeast infection at least once in her life; clearly, you're just the exception to the rule. 🙄

I read it, but I simply couldn't remain silent. For some time now, I have been reading what this woman describes, and frankly, it feels as though I am reading a work of science fiction.😲

Disturbing, isn't it? 🙂

Ugh, don't even talk to me about those little monsters. They're seriously going to eat me alive. I've never dealt with this before, but ever since I found out I was pregnant, they won't leave me alone. My OB-GYN keeps prescribing Canesten and Geonistin because she says those are the only things safe enough during pregnancy, but after three days, it's just the same old story all over again. She claims it's all caused by the pregnancy hormones. She tried to comfort me by saying some women deal with this for their whole lives, 😲but then I saw some moms on a forum claiming they swear by soaking a tampon in rosehip oil and it works wonders. My doctor says she doesn't recommend that while you're pregnant, though. Honestly, I feel like she actually has no clue and is just sticking to the official meds like most doctors do. But I really don't want to take any risks, so I'm sticking with the Canesten for now. Still, maybe you could give the oil thing a shot—who knows, maybe it actually helps. If anyone else has dealt with this kind of mess during pregnancy and knows what actually worked, I would be so incredibly grateful if you could let me know 🙏

Ashley Watson said:You completely misunderstood me!

I am not taking antibiotics—I explicitly stated that.

It’s bacteria I’m dealing with, not fungus. Besides, I thought Trichomonas symptoms (at least for me) were identical to yeast infections—that insane itching, you know? And it’s entirely possible I have both at once. If I didn't have the bacteria, I'd end up with a yeast infection from the antibiotics, which is exactly why I'm avoiding them. Get it now?

Look, I was asking Taipei if she thought they were constantly pumping her full of antibiotics when there wasn't even a bacterial infection... but if you actually *do* have one, you have to take the meds to clear the bacteria first, and then you deal with the 🙂 🙂 fungus

Here’s a little piece of advice from my side of the fence...

What kind of soap are you using down there?

The skin in that area is incredibly sensitive to pH shifts. As soon as things get out of balance, you're looking at a bacterial mess waiting to happen. Those generic soaps you see plastered all over TV commercials aren't exactly the answer. Your best bet is picking up something specifically formulated for intimate care or ultra-sensitive skin. Even then, don't go overboard—washing more than two or three times a day is asking for trouble (and definitely don't wash 🙂), because no matter how "mild" they claim to be, they're still too harsh for that delicate area.

Taipei said:Honestly, I am about to lose my absolute mind! I'm seriously on the verge of a total breakdown!!!!!
I have been fighting this stupid fungal infection bullshit for years now and nothing works!
Screw the vaginal tablets, the creams, Diflucan, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, cranberry juice, yogurt, garlic, and everything else under the sun! Just forget it all!

I'm just completely hopeless, guys, totally hopeless!
At this rate, I’ll be able to make a salad out of beer soon! I can't even count how many different things I've tried and applied to myself!!!!!!! 😁

Please, please, please, if anyone could just give me some actual, concrete advice or maybe tell me what happened in your own real lives! PLS!
I just can't do this anymore.... 😢 😢

I know exactly what you mean.
I'm going through the exact same thing. It's been 3.5 years of dealing with these fungi and I was right there on the edge of a nervous breakdown too. I've tried everything mentioned above, and I even saw the top gynecologists in the US—my cousin actually happens to be a doctor, so I had some inside connections—but still, absolutely nothing helped. There were times when I'd get them twice a month, though usually once a month. I was so incredibly pissed off!!!!

So, eventually, I started looking for the root cause.
You know what actually made a difference for me? Avoiding oral sex entirely, because apparently those fungi can live in saliva.
It didn't get rid of them forever, but things are way better now; I only deal with an infection about once every four months.

let's try this again;

Ashley Watson said:just waiting on my herbal tea to arrive to handle these little monsters. I am definitely not touching antibiotics.

basically, I don't have to take anything if I don't want to. after reading about all those side effects, I'm just over it. I feel better already without them and I really don't want to keep poisoning myself with that stuff.

my tea for these pests finally showed up. herbal medicine worked wonders for me with other urinary tract issues before, so I’m banking on it working for everything else too.

Hey driftingstag8, what kind of tea are you actually sipping on and where do you even find it? I need to stock up on some serious supplies before I have this baby.
