If they actually get hit with a penalty for this, they might as well just shut down the whole operation and start rewiring the damn cables...

Where are you even getting your math from? Seriously...
Max starts on pole, so regardless of how much it pours, he’s the one with the massive advantage because he’s the only one not stuck in a literal cloud of water.☕

Bottom line: if the race had started normally and on time, whether they used the SC or whatever...
Max is the guy most likely to take the win. Lewis would have been sandwiched between Ricciardo and George Russell, and he probably would've ended up with a DNF instead of a win. In the end, Lewis only lost 5 points despite finishing third, which would have actually been 10 points otherwise.

Don't mess with me. Is pole position a huge advantage? Yeah, absolutely. Is it a guaranteed win? Of course not.
Look, that’s not even the real issue with the whole circus over at Spa-Francorchamps. The actual problem with the mess in Belgium is that the race should have been postponed or just called off entirely. I mean, awarding points just because they hit two laps behind the Safety Car? That’s a total joke. Honestly, it's just a bad punchline.
Look, don't even try to play dumb with me here. Nobody should be getting any points. It’s simple, really—the race wasn't actually driven. It just didn't happen. Period.

It's called defending.

What kind of defense is that? The guy was on the inside line and couldn't even make the turn within the track limits—he drifted wide instead. Of course, the driver on the outside has to take an even wider line to compensate. It’s pure, unadulterated pushing him off the track.

Once you hit the grass, you're basically a passenger. It only takes a split second for the tires to lose grip, and then you're just along for the ride. He definitely had a bit of luck on his side there, but let's be real—it was mostly just his experience and pure skill pulling him through.

I mean, what would have happened if he’d wiped out? He would've trashed the car and walked away with zero points.

If we hadn't sat through those Ham Ros duels where Ham was just repeating the same old nonsense and everyone tried to justify it 😁

Kyle Lopez2 said:Honestly, who would have had a harder time competing in a race like that? Max Verstappen with his PP, or Lewis Hamilton starting from second row alongside those young guns? Just look at what young George Russell did with Valtteri Bottas at Imola to save the race for Lewis Hamilton.😵

And the best part is, he ended up losing way fewer points than if the race had actually gone ahead.

Or maybe you're just worried about driver safety and think the race shouldn't have happened at all, especially on a track where Red Bull Racing would have just dominated anyway.
☕

When I think back to Turkey last year and how many times Max spun out, who’s to say the same thing won't happen in Belgium? A wet race cancels out all the car advantages, and that's when the drivers really shine. And we all know Lewis Hamilton is the best on the grid.👍

Place 🤣

Editor: And honestly, why are you guys even stressing? He’s going to win anyway because he's got better tires and more raw speed.

Lawrence Garcia5 said:Look, we’re talking about having way more room to maneuver here. It’s not even close to what happened there.
Another thing is that Max tries to force moves that just aren't there, and then he ends up paying for it. He's had way too many of those "oops" moments over the last three seasons.

Lewis Hamilton, being on the inside at the position behind, took a late apex in a corner where a car on the outside can actually carry more speed than one on the inside.

The result was that he tagged Max Verstappen's front wheel with his own. I honestly don't see how anyone could argue Lewis isn't at fault here.

It’s even harder for me to wrap my head around why Ferrari didn't lose their minds after Charles Leclerc narrowly avoided a collision. If it had been any other driver, they would've sent them straight into a wall at 100g in a spot where you'd never expect it. This passivity from the other teams when they aren't fighting for the championship is just staggering.🤦

If Lewis hadn't bolted, it would have been pushing.

I can't see the replay of Lewis, but Max's move was sloppy, and the only reason there wasn't a collision was because Lewis managed to get away.

As was clearly demonstrated at Imola:

And if one considers the qualifying session in Turkey last year on that wet track, he only managed to secure 6th place. Then, during the actual race, he suffered that embarrassing moment when he went off track (0:33):

I definitely wouldn't call off the race. We can look back at 2015 when Rosberg took on Hamilton in those wet conditions, or remember 2019 when Hamilton was spending more time off-track than on it, almost begging them to pull him out of the race...☕

P.S. I actually forgot about Imola 🤣🤣🤣 Blessed Russell, you basically snagged that seat at Mercedes-Benz right after they let go of Valtteri Bottas.🤣

It’s honestly just a matter of when, not if, Lewis Hamilton pulls ahead

Mark Hughes at The Race and Auto Motor und Sport have all started claiming that Lewis Hamilton's win came down to tire durability. It feels like they're just trying to mask how much raw pace the car actually had, which tells you exactly whose fans they are.
According to them, the reason Lewis Hamilton won was because his tires were in better shape, but I’m just not buying it. There was only a three-lap gap between the pit stops. That margin was completely eaten up while Lewis Hamilton was chasing Max Verstappen. Even after he pulled ahead—regardless of the fact that Max Verstappen eventually backed off from the fight—Lewis Hamilton kept laying down fast laps.

Hasn't that already been stated?...
It looks like Mercedes just "shipped" a new engine upgrade. They probably squeezed out an extra 15 to 20 horsepower on top of an already capable Power Unit, and honestly, that’s about as much as you can expect...
Word on the street is that the Power Unit is typically spec'd to run for about 7,500 kilometers, yet Mercedes apparently "shipped" this specific PU with a lifespan of only 2,500 kilometers... basically because they don't need anything more to coast through the rest of the season... and by doing that, they managed to squeeze out some extra horsepower...
So, they’ve played it smart by handling the Power Unit swap strategically. Even if there ends up being a recalculation involving the "old" Power Unit, it shouldn't be an issue since that one is perfectly fine to use anyway...

That whole farce in Belgium where they flipped everything in Lewis Hamilton's favor? Honestly, it was the absolute peak of comedy🤦

James Collins said:Don't mess with me. Is pole position a huge advantage? Yeah, absolutely. Is it a guaranteed win? Of course not.

So, what sport are you guys actually following? 🤦
Let's do a little math...
Rainy "normal" race.
1st place, 25 points = Max Verstappen.
P2 and 18 points. Looks like we’ve got ourselves a new golden boy from the UK.
3rd place, 15 points = Lewis Hamilton.
That’s a +10 gap for Max Verstappen.

So, this is how it turned out.
First place gets 12.5 points. That’s Max.
P2, 9 points. Looks like we have a new golden boy from the UK.
Third place, 7.5 points. That's Lewis Hamilton.

Max is up by 5...

Which kid isn't being clear here?
If the FIA actually wanted to, they could have just held a parade where everyone follows the Safety Car for 23 laps straight. That’s basically their standard operating procedure whenever more than three drops of rain hit the track. 🙄...hand out points like candy and God help us all...

And that’s just not true. They spent the whole time debating one thing or another, only to end up splitting the points down the middle in that embarrassing way.
It’s not like things would have been any better if they’d handled it differently, but man, they really went all out on the damage limitation for Lewis.

I mean, I don't think that really proves much. In the US, Lewis was just absolutely schooling them, like they were little kids.
