Keith Moore21 said:Aside from Detroit (if you're betting on the Play, but honestly a straight bet works for me), I’d still take Al Jamison over 17.5... if they still don't have Veras for Cleveland, it means everyone is basically banking on Jamison as their only real guy under the rim, so his minutes should be decent—around 35 minutes. He was playing out of his mind before the All-Star break, dropping 20ish points regularly in his last 5 or 6 games, taking 15-20 shots, and I’m expecting him to hit at least 5-6 threes, maybe sink 2 or 3 of them, plus all those easy layups Kyrie Irving is gonna set up for him... if he just stops throwing those bricks, he cruises right past this line. Plus, he probably got some rest during this 4-5 day break, which is huge since the guy is already 35, you know? Stoudemire is keeping him in, and we all know how much of a defensive liability that guy can be... so yeah, everything points to an over here...

edit: wait, I’m such an idiot, the Cavaliers played the Celtics yesterday and Jamison just couldn't get anything going against KG, shooting 3-of-15 and barely getting 8 buckets, but whatever, it doesn't change my mind, I still think he hits the over tonight even if he missed it last night 😬

Don't use that game as your benchmark because that Boston defense just isn't his style, and he went under in all three matchups against them; besides, he took fewer shots than usual and shot a pathetic 25%, which is almost twice as bad as his average🤷, you can grab him at 16.5 in HL😍

Yeah, I get it, I was just pointing that out to build on the first part of my post where I mentioned the rest/fatigue thing... totally blanked on yesterday's game 😵 ... but like I said, I'm thinking he might go over today, so I took that, plus a 1x on the Detroit Pistons 😉

...any word on whether Kobe Bryant is actually suiting up tonight?😕

I honestly don't think he's going to suit up; they've got him listed as doubtful, and in my experience, that usually just means you'll be watching from the sidelines. It’s looking like a real toss-up, so I'm leaning towards Pau Gasol being the better bet here. 🤷

If Kobe Bryant steps onto the court, he won't be at a hundred percent, which means I'm predicting he finishes with under 28 points. Along those same lines, I don't see the LA Lakers breaking 95 points. Does anyone actually agree with that assessment, or am I just being overly pessimistic?

If Kobe Bryant starts handling the rock and distributing more, I honestly think this lineup works out pretty well
28.5/Kobe Bryant (LA Lakers-Minnesota Timberwolves) under
16.5/Pau Gasol (LA Lakers-Minnesota Timberwolves) over

This one should work. But if LeBron James is actually going to play, he’s gotta deliver.

I'm leaning towards taking the under on Dwight Howard at 21.5 points, mostly because I've got this gut feeling he’s going to run into foul trouble early on. He seems pretty frustrated being in Orlando right now, and honestly, that kind of headspace usually ends up messing with a player's rhythm on the court.

It was pretty much the same story at the start of the month when Orlando beat the Washington Wizards 109-103, with Howard hovering right around that 23-point mark. In their first matchup against them, he dropped 28. The Wizards always seem to be his kryptonite, so if I had to choose between the over or the under earlier, I would have gone with the under...

Regardless, good luck. 😉

Personally, I see the real value in Orlando +8.5. They’ve handled Washington in their last eight meetings with an average margin of 17.2 points. On top of that, Washington just dealt with a brutal finish against the Milwaukee Bucks last night, while the Orlando squad hasn't even left the building since Thursday...

On top of all that, I’m also putting my money on a straight win for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Last night was actually pretty decent thanks to that single on the Peja Peković under ☕.

But for tonight, I'm looking at some smaller plays again:
Pau Gasol over 16.5 (odds dropped to 1.70)
Tim Duncan over 13.5

I think I might try a single on Oklahoma tonight, but we'll just see how it goes! 😁

Anyway, good luck out there. 😉

Exactly, and that's why I'm actually going against logic by betting on him here, since that's just how Dwight Howard operates. It’s kind of funny how those games where he looks like a lock for the over often end up hitting the under because he picks up early fouls, or sometimes they just don't get enough shots off to make it happen. 🤷 👍

Jennings 1:31 3pt shot
Jennings 1:19 3pt shot

What a god, he basically pulled a winning ticket out of the trash with those two three-pointers just 12 seconds apart 🙏

Milwaukee 🙏

Whatever.

Glanced at NBA.com for a second, and looks like Kobe Bryant is already in the starting lineup.
And it doesn't stop there. He’s already knocked down four buckets, and he’s taken three shots in just two minutes.

So yeah, forget about betting on Pau Gasol. 🙂

It’s not like I’m unhappy with how things turned out—I think I distributed the roles pretty well—but man, these Trail Blazers just aren't going to take down Denver without Nene, Danilo Gallinari, and Rudy Fernandez.

The rest of the roster didn't really step up, but hey, at least those main picks hit their marks for us

Nicholas Chase34 said:I'm leaning toward taking Dwight Howard under 21.5, mainly because I get the vibe he’s going to run into early foul trouble; he hasn't been happy playing in Orlando lately, and that kind of mood usually bleeds right into how someone performs on the court.

He ended up with 14 points, and even though he stayed out of foul trouble, he just wasn't getting much action inside the paint.☕

Nicholas Chase34 said:The Detroit Pistons are looking pretty solid lately, especially when they're playing at home—if you can look past that absolute disaster against the Philadelphia 76ers the other night—where they've gone 8-11. Their matchup today is against the Charlotte Hornets, who are basically the basement dwellers of the league right now. They've only managed to snag two wins in 18 games played on the road. Honestly, the roster is mostly made up of guys who struggle to find any rhythm, though Henderson might be a factor since he's coming off a nine-game injury stretch to sub in for Rip Williams. Still, Detroit has more depth with guys like Monroe, Charlie Stuckey, Louie Williams, and Prince... they've got a decent core of reliable players. To me, the massive edge for Detroit is going to be scoring those easy buckets right under the rim. Defensively, Charlotte is a sieve, giving up way too many shots (30.5 attempts at 61.6% accuracy). On the flip side, Detroit is great at crashing the glass and cleaning up second-chance points through layups or dunks. On average, they're putting up about 27.7 shots per game (which ranks #3 in the league, shooting 57.6%). Detroit’s dominance on the offensive boards should give them plenty of extra possessions, just like we saw in their last two outings. When you have a starter playing like that, VIDEO>🤣 you can't be surprised when the scoreboard looks the way it does. Looking at it from every angle, Charlotte doesn't offer anything to compete with Detroit; the only reason the spread is what it is seems to be because Detroit is dealing with a back-to-back schedule.☕

Detroit Pistons - Charlotte Hornets
pick: Detroit Pistons -5.5 @ 1.952 Pinnacle

Final score 109-94 That was a bit of an undershoot; this Detroit squad really knows how to dismantle the bottom-feeders.😁

The bench really stepped up and did the work... Finally, we actually played some meaningful basketball in that second half. If we can play like this consistently instead of just having one lucky night in ten, we might actually go somewhere in the playoffs.
