If you get the feeling he’ll handle it well, then he probably will—and honestly, you'll save yourself a massive amount of heartache and stress by being with someone like that. 🙂😘

I have to admit, it would be pretty amazing to finally feel a bit more liberated and less wound up 🙂

I actually know this one girl—she is absolutely stunning, a total knockout! But she never wears shorts because she’s always worried about hair growth, and I honestly never even considered that she might be dealing with that same "condition"... It’s easy for those of us on the outside to say "don't worry about it," but at the end of the day, only she knows what it feels like to live in her own skin...
I deal with my own struggles too, though mine aren't really about hair—it's more about skin issues, scarring, pigmentation, things like that... it makes me feel sort of out of place and different, which just adds another layer to everything, even though I don't consider myself unattractive... I suppose I just have to accept that I'll never be "normal" in the way everyone else seems to be... but hey, you aren't alone in this... 👍

I deal with my own stuff too, though mine isn't really about hair—it's more about skin texture, scarring, pigmentation issues... everything just feels a bit off and different, which honestly makes things even harder, even if I don't consider myself unattractive. I've had to come to terms with the fact that I'll never quite fit that "perfectly normal" mold everyone else seems to have... so, yeah, you aren't alone in this... 👍

🙂 so glad to hear from you 🙂 and I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "she's the only one living in her own skin"...

@Endimion17, I honestly don't know what you're getting at—it’s clearly not the same thing... but I'm speaking from a woman's perspective here. I know girls who deal with hirsutism—or maybe they just have crazy high androgen levels—and they have hair in places where it definitely shouldn't be... it’s not just visible, it’s constant... and I've seen how much that messes with every single part of their lives.
And I know they've dropped a fortune at spas and salons... mostly just so they could feel okay again... and actually feel comfortable enough to go to the beach...

Look, you really need to focus on some self-improvement and realize that this isn't actually the catastrophe you think it is; after all, you’re still young, healthy, and beautiful. Just relax and actually try to enjoy your life for once! You need to learn to love yourself exactly as you are, because honestly, you could have easily turned out much worse than you did—just like the rest of us. If you ask me, you're totally blowing this way out of proportion.

I think you're definitely overthinking this one.

Fair enough, but how am I supposed to just "relax" when I'm constantly obsessing over every little thing people can or can't see?

rowdyheron80 said:It isn’t about finding a cure; we are dealing with a genetically inherited anomaly. I could take birth control just to flood my system with female hormones, but it won't matter—the excess testosterone I already have will just kill them off anyway. 😢

Is it not possible to simply take androgen antagonists? I am referring to medications designed specifically to inhibit the effects of androgenic hormones.
I don't mean to sound like I'm lecturing you, but did the endocrinologist actually rule out that specific therapy, or was it simply ineffective?

I couldn't agree more—it’s easy to sit on the sidelines and pass judgment when you aren't the one in the spotlight. But honestly, just think about it: those people who feel the need to mock or look down on someone simply for being more hirsute than average!!!!???? What kind of individuals are they, really? I certainly wouldn't be looking to call them friends.

I don't want to get flagged for going off-topic over on that other thread: see, we aren't giving you some alien, irrational advice. You know yourself that you need to be authentic, stay relaxed, and find peace within. You won't achieve that until you tell the guy. That's it.

Just tell him. You'll survive, trust me.

And if he dumps you for it, he was an idiot you didn't need anyway.

I don't mean to sound like I'm lecturing you here—really, I don't—but did an endocrinologist actually rule out that kind of therapy, or did it just not work for you?

Oh, don't worry, you aren't lecturing me at all! Honestly. Up until about a year ago, I was working through this stuff with my OB-GYN, but after trying Yasmin, I pretty much just threw in the towel. So, for the last year, I haven't really been seeing anyone in the medical field—just kind of navigating everything on my own as best as I can.🤷

I agree. 🙂 It’s better to find out who someone really is now rather than later. 🙂

rowdyheron80 said:Don't lecture me, I've got this. A year ago, I was dealing with a gynecologist constantly, but once I switched to Yasmin, I walked away. I haven't touched any medication in over a year. I'm just handling things on my own as best I can.🤷

Good luck with that—just go see an endocrinologist.

I know I’m probably going to be the designated bad guy here, but what on earth does this have to do with UNESCO? 🤷

OT—look, I get that you think having hair is a massive issue, but don't sweat it too much. There are plenty of guys out there who actually dig hairy legs; not everyone is looking for the perfectly smooth look. 🤣

I suspect your boyfriend noticed it too. He probably isn't saying anything because there’s no point in bringing it up—at least, that's how I'd handle it.

Sorry about that, I'm still figuring out how everything works here and I think I posted this in the wrong spot. 🙂

What makes you think he noticed, though??

Between my own six months of experience and everything you tried to hide, you admitted you deal with facial hair issues too (or at least it seemed that way to me). Someone had to notice something was off.
