I just shared what I think a girl should do, just like most of you guys have done. And then I get called out for it. Since when is it wrong to state what I believe is right?!
I don't get it.😕
Then again, seeing how some girl wrote above—intelligence clearly isn't my strong suit...😁

Ladies, I wish you nothing but plenty of abortions. But only the ones you actually want. I see you all making a distinction between planned and unplanned ones😁 Huh, pretty sad...

I wouldn't have had any problem with your comment about not having an abortion if you hadn't started judging her for "spreading her legs"... that alone would've made anyone reject your "advice," genius.👎

I don't think the decision has anything to do with maturity. Someone can be completely immature and still want something—which usually leads to trouble once they actually get it.

Alright, let me ask those of you who are strictly anti-abortion: how exactly does being an unwanted child work?
What is it actually like growing up knowing—or at least feeling—that you are nothing more than a burden?
Because let’s be real: no matter how much love there is, it’s impossible to hide the fact that dreams were sacrificed. Over the years, that frustration just builds up—the unfinished schooling or dropped college degrees, the constant finger-pointing within the family about why someone "shouldn't have had kids" in the first place...
Or the way potential partners push you away because, let's face it, very few people want to deal with a kid right at the start of a relationship...
For those of you taking a stand against it, I have to ask: how do you think a child survives all that chaos while they're growing up?
Do you honestly believe they don't see everything happening around them?
So, what's the better alternative then???
Is it better to have an abortion, or to bring a child into this world only to force them to bounce between Mom, Dad, grandparents, and various foster homes?
And don't even get me started on the financial aspect...

Amy Hayes28 said:Alright, does anyone here who opposes abortion actually know what it feels like to be an unwanted child??

Well, look—I am an unwanted child myself. My parents were legally married, sure, but even then, I wasn't exactly "planned." And personally? I’m against abortion. It isn't my fault that I ended up with the parents I have! Nobody ever sat me down and asked if I wanted to exist, yet here I am. I'm living. For some reason known only to the universe, I was given a chance...

So, according to you, a woman can never really know if she's ready for a kid? It’s just a matter of waiting for fate to step in, and then she accepts this "gift from above" because she couldn't figure out the timing herself... regardless of what works for everyone involved.

My ex ended up having an abortion, and so what? We were both college students back then. I told her she had the right to decide what she wanted, and whatever she chose, I’d be there for her—emotionally and financially. She decided to go through with it. I paid for the procedure and went to the clinic with her. Anyone who thinks that's an easy choice to make is just being naive.

It wasn't about my ex, though. I didn't even want kids for ten years after that—only now 🙂

Anyway, none of you ladies have answered my question: how many children do you actually have?

Okay, I get where you're coming from, and you put it pretty clearly. Even if I were against abortion myself, I wouldn't feel entitled to judge a woman for making that choice—I have no clue what her circumstances actually are. But you're right... most people would rather be here than not...

Honestly, I am so glad to see you thinking this way.🙂
I consider myself an "unfortunate accident" too, though not from a marriage, but from a situation just like the one being discussed in this thread!
And look, it’s not that I’m against abortion because I’ve wished a thousand times that she had just gone through with it instead of giving birth to me.
I got my "chance" too, but at what cost??
I would never wish a life like mine on my own child; it would be better if they weren't even born!

But that’s exactly my point! This isn't some black-and-white issue—it’s incredibly complex—and everyone is dealing with their own unique set of reasons. Honestly, who am I to go around imposing my personal views on someone else's life?

Honestly, I feel like some people here really need to focus on their own mental health instead of trying to fix everyone else's lives.

Look, I want her to be happy no matter what she decides, but she seriously needs to get to a gynecologist ASAP so she can make an informed choice before it's too late... regardless of what that choice ends up being.

Man... this kind of thing can happen to anyone, and it just happened at the absolute worst possible time.

Kristina19 said:Sure, because keeping a kid on your payroll at 18 is definitely always the right call, right?
Maybe if their parents actually have the cash and the free time to raise them while they finish school, but that's a huge if. 🙄

I mean, maybe the better move would've been waiting until she was actually mentally mature—though I guess people never really reach that point—instead of just hooking up with some random guy. Was it a choice? Yeah. Well, now she has to deal with the fallout. Maybe David was being a little aggressive about it, but I think he kind of has a point.👍

And what exactly are you doing right now if you aren't judging me? You're judging me three times harder than I ever judged anyone else. I am simply asking a girl—why did she spread her legs?
Maybe she didn't even bother with a condom in the heat of the moment, or maybe things just got too intense and a condom broke... and now she has the greatest passion of all: motherhood!

What I’ve been wondering for quite some time is this: how does a woman—a young person, a girl, regardless of age—even end up in bed with a guy who, when an unplanned pregnancy happens, just leaves her to fend for herself?! Are women just easily led astray? Do they not see what kind of "man" he really is?

To put it more bluntly: why do girls go to bed with idiots?

Megan Reed said:🙄

Well then, you and I should go to bed! You can teach me how to merge American and English. And then a child will be born—an American-English hybrid language. A linguistic stew.😁

You only get into bed with someone after you’ve put them through months of vetting—consulting your old buddy, your best friend, maybe two or three therapists... and if they all decide she’s too unstable, then you back off again.

Then you come crawling here. Why do women sleep with jerks? Because apparently, that’s just what’s written in your destiny.
And honestly, even a guy who’s mostly decent can act like a complete idiot when things get sudden and messy...

Poets are the wonders of the world.😁 My dear Talia, perhaps my life would be significantly more manageable if I had a girlfriend like you—someone who could provide certain physical releases to help me work through my personal frustrations. What’s your take on that? Since we are strictly discussing "health" here, and since we have all reached the brilliant consensus that abortion is harmful, perhaps we should address the issue of my own frustration as well. Looking at the posts submitted by various women, it seems intimacy is quite the panacea. But once a child is involved, then we have to deal with Dr. Abortus.

Calling this nebulous again? Either someone has watched far too many American movies, or someone has completely lost their mind, or maybe... someone just needs to wash their feet!

David - since 1983:
Judging by all those posts from women, they act like anatomy is some kind of cure-all. But once a kid actually shows up? Suddenly everyone’s calling for Dr. Abortus.

Honestly, based on your posts, I'm guessing you've already had a session with Dr. Lobotomy.

Maybe just stop talking about anatomy when you've only ever seen it in pictures.

At this point, arguing about whether she should have slept with him or if she was "ready" for it is just a waste of breath.
We’re talking about the consequences and what happens next. Since she's incredibly young and this isn't even a long-term partner (or someone she can actually trust), I think an abortion is genuinely the best path for her right now. I'm not trying to lecture anyone on morality here, but looking at the reality of the situation: how is she supposed to raise a kid without any support from anyone around her?

I'm not some hardcore abortion advocate (I know I might come off like 😁) but sometimes, it really is the only way out in that moment.
Dammit, it happened. We can sit here all day acting like geniuses and judging her for spreading her legs, but this could happen to anyone. 🙂

By the way, my mom's former friend had about ten abortions. And the woman can still get pregnant without any issues...👎
