Chris Morgan67, tell me, how bad is the traffic over at Salisbury? I'm thinking about heading down there to soak up some of those taxpayer dollars. 😉

A wise decision...🙂

I have to give them credit over at Salisbury; Branka’s sister did a fantastic job organizing the therapy sessions. Everything is perfectly scheduled—for instance, my appointments are set for 10:00 AM every other day...

I show up at 10:00, she calls my name, and that’s that...

The waiting room is packed for checkups, but you won't be waiting more than ten minutes for therapy...🙏🙏🙏

So, that's why I'd suggest...👍

Well, that’s fantastic news for the organization! 🙏
Which doctor did you see for your checkup?

Has anyone ever visited the Houston facility in Indianapolis? I’ve heard great things about their psoriasis treatments. I actually just booked an appointment for June 3rd, so I’ll see what the specialists there have to say. I dealt with psoriasis about fifteen years ago and it cleared up completely after some light therapy at Salisbury, but lately, it's started flaring up again on the soles of my feet...

Some young doctor. Honestly, she wasn't much help😂 The main thing was getting that lamp—insist on it

Dr. Pašić is still practicing, if you care...😁

If you want a solid private dermatologist, I can DM you their number

Has anyone ever heard of those KALAWALLA capsules for psoriasis or vitiligo? What's the deal with them? Like, where can you even find them?

I honestly have no clue what that is... but if I can help even just a little bit... I think you mentioned something about it on page 73, if I remember correctly!!
So there you go......
Best of luck! Cheers👋

My 12-year-old son has been struggling with some skin issues lately. It started with scaly white patches on his scalp, and now he has something similar on his right hand. We tried using Eucerin on his hand since we’ve dealt with something similar before, but while it didn't flake off, the redness just won't budge. To make matters worse, the skin around his groin area is extremely red, irritated, and cracked.
One doctor—a urologist, not a dermatologist—immediately suspected psoriasis. However, the dermatologist he saw prescribed an oil and a CeraVe lotion for his head, hands, and groin, though even they weren't entirely sure if it was actually psoriasis since the symptoms look somewhat similar to other conditions.
Does anyone have any practical advice? What is the most effective way to get a definitive psoriasis diagnosis, and what kind of testing or specialists should we be looking for in the US?
It's worth noting that there is a history of psoriasis in our family. My brother has been battling it for about three years now. Could this be a genetic link, given that they are uncle and nephew?
Any insight you can provide would mean the world to me. I'll admit, I'm starting to feel pretty overwhelmed and anxious about all of this.
Thanks in advance to everyone.😕

Please, if anyone has any sensible advice to share, I’d really appreciate it. What’s the easiest way to diagnose psoriasis? What kind of tests are needed and where should we go?.....

Greetings first of all,
Based on what you described, I’d lean toward it being psoriasis rather than seborrhea—I suspect seborrhea wouldn't typically present quite like this (sorry if I'm off base here).
If you're in the Washington, D.C. area, you can find dermatologists at the military hospital in Oakland, Vineyard, or the Salisbury clinic for skin and sexual health. You’ll just need to see a primary care physician to get a referral for a specialist. At the Oakland location, they take patients until about 9:00 AM, and at Salisbury, they might take people until 2:00 PM, though aiming for 10:00 or 11:00 AM is probably your best bet. There is a specific pediatric clinic at Salisbury, too. They’ll examine him first, and if they suspect psoriasis, they'll perform a biopsy and send a tissue sample for analysis. They might also run tests to check for genetic predisposition—though, honestly, the fact that your brother has it is already a pretty strong indicator.
Since your brother is managing psoriasis himself, he probably knows exactly what it looks like, so he might be able to offer some insight. Still, seeing a doctor is the best move to get a definitive answer and the right treatment. Best, 😍

Stop making assumptions and stop listening to everyone else's advice. No one can tell you what this is based on just a description.
Get to a dermatologist immediately so they can take a skin biopsy and run tests to confirm exactly what you're dealing with.
It seems like you shouldn't be applying anything to your skin for a while before they take the sample, and the testing process itself usually takes about ten days.
Basically, if you want to end this uncertainty sooner, hurry up and see a specialist.

To be honest, I hope you don't have to "participate" on this forum much longer.

Best,

Michael Ramos3, sorry, but does that username have something to do with psoriasis, or was it just a coincidence? It really caught my eye, especially being on this specific forum...

Look, we obviously can't tell you for sure if it's psoriasis or not!! Don't let yourself spiral into a panic, and definitely don't let him see you worrying. If it is what you think it is... God forbid! That could really mess with his head.
The best move is to just get him to a dermatologist immediately. That's step one. Don't wait on this.😢😢

What I really wanted to chime in on is that my uncle also has psoriasis, and I inherited it from him! So yeah, it's definitely possible.....😢

Psoriasis is absolutely a hereditary condition!!!!

Best of luck!!!!!!!!🙂

Thanks to everyone for the replies; I really appreciate every bit of advice you've shared.
Does anyone know if a decrease in GGT enzyme levels could be linked to psoriasis and high triglyceride levels?

Well, look—don't go assuming anything and don't listen to just anyone... not even Michael Ramos3, because honestly, he doesn't have much smart to offer unless it somehow benefits him, hahahahahh.

Good luck with the checkup—I really hope it turns out to be nothing serious. Best, 😍
