Of course! Everything I mentioned before is all about the BIOS—it’s handled right there in the settings. I'm not sure if you're running an Award BIOS, Phoenix, or something else entirely... but if you just head over to the CPU section and select manual mode, those extra options for the FBI should unlock for you right away.
Look, sorry if I'm assuming this forum can actually be useful to me
The truth is, Google doesn't mean a damn thing when I don't even know what I'm looking for, so there's no point in complaining about how crappy this trash heap is
Man, you guys have to check out all this stuff people are doing to squeeze more performance out of their rigs http://www.afrotechmods.com/hdoc.htm Seriously, take a look... I'm actually low-key considering grabbing one of those 40 GB ATA Maxtor drives with the 2 MB cache! It might actually be worth the cash, I guess!

What a total joke. Sure, you'll probably get that hard drive spinning at 240,000 RPM without any trouble.😬
My apologies if I missed the punchline or whatever this is.🙂
I could use some guidance here. I am looking to make a purchase, though I am feeling quite indecisive about which direction to take. Should I go with AMD or Intel?😕 My current setup relies on a Celeron, which is essentially a paperweight at this point. I am weighing two specific options: 1.) An Intel Pentium 4 3.0 HT 800Mhz with 512kb L2 cache =$467 2.) An AMD 64 +3000 socket 939 paired with a Gigabyte NForce4 motherboard =$567
William Moore61 As stated by: I find myself in need of some counsel. I am considering making a purchase, though I find myself at a loss as to exactly what I should acquire. AMD or Intel? It is a question that offers little satisfaction.😕 I am currently stuck using a Celeron—an absolute piece of junk. Should I go for it? The Intel Pentium 4 3.0 HT 800Mhz L2 cache 512kb remains an artifact of a bygone era.$467 An AMD 64 +3000 socket 939 paired with a Gigabyte NForce4 motherboard equals $250.$567
? ? ? 😕 ? ? ?
What exactly is the intended purpose of this machine?
My AMD Athlon 1200+ is overclocked all the way to 2300+—but man, it's hitting 70°C even with water cooling and a custom case. Plus, Windows is acting super glitchy... honestly, at this point, I feel like the whole thing might just blow up on me.
Help!!!Does anyone know how to overclock this CPU?😕

Look, if you really want to squeeze more juice out of that chip, you should probably try dropping the multiplier a bit and bumping up the frequency instead. I spent way too many late nights messing with my own rig back in the day trying to find that sweet spot without melting the motherboard. If you want a play-by-play on how to actually overclock a CPU properly—and more importantly, what kind of disasters you need to watch out for so you don't fry your hardware—check out the guides over at PC Gamer. They’ve got some solid breakdowns on their forums that cover all the basics and the pitfalls.

The Intel Core i7 doesn't let you mess with the multiplier!
You have to bump up the FSB instead. Try jumping from 200 to 250, though you'll probably need to dial back the memory speed since it won't be able to keep up with that kind of jump.
