Album of the Week

For some reason, Cannibal Corpse just never clicked with me, which is weird considering how much I usually love death metal. I think they just feel way too generic for my taste.

Here’s a solid summer pick, perfect for spinning right before August hits and everyone heads out on vacation. It's some heavy Italian sludge/stoner/doom stuff.

Ufomammut - Fenice (2022)

A1 Duat
A2 Kheperer
A3 Psychostasia
B1 Metamorphoenix
B2 Pyramind
B3 Empyros

Alright, maybe I'll try starting my day a little differently tomorrow with two metal albums on shuffle. 😁

It’s finally moving! Honestly, I’m just glad we’re actually getting some momentum here. We’ve still got more album suggestions coming tomorrow, so I guess it’s good to see people showing up.

That’s probably for the best; otherwise, you might actually end up taking someone out. 😁

Is something going on here?

Jason Mendoza said:For some reason, CC just never really clicked for me, and that's saying something because I'm actually a huge death metal fan. I guess it just feels a bit too cookie-cutter for my taste...

Look, Hammer SF definitely isn't a generic track, and honestly, I don't know many songs that top it. You've got stuff like Scourge of Iron, I Cum Blood, or even that cover of Metallica's no Mercy... there's plenty of better material out there if you know where to look.

I agree, but they still don't quite sit right with me. I can't quite put my finger on what's bothering me about them.

Anyway, it would be fine if my previous suggestion could just be deleted, because I've thought of a much better summer vibe. After all, we're talking about italo disco here 😁

That flying bagel is killer 😍

Jason Mendoza, maybe, definitely! 👍

I'll put together the poll around 10 PM, so if anyone else was planning on suggesting something, go for it!
We might end up with 10 albums, but hurry up. We’re listening and voting until Sunday night.

...here is the summer album of the week! there's no limit on votes, so go nuts.

I guess people shouldn't really be surprised that Kuzma jumped in at the very last second—especially since most of the folks hanging out here are just people who call the ocean their backyard anyway. ☕

Or even better—those people who are basically six and a half, halfway to seven. 😁

Ugh... Honestly, Ufomammut is just unnecessary baggage at this point.

Mark Cruz15 said:Erm... Ufomammut is just extra.

Just gave this a spin—this album is pure summer vibes. Sitting here in my basement back in Garešnica.

Charles Ramos4 said:I guess people shouldn't be surprised that Kuzma made his move at the very last second, especially considering this place is mostly crawling with people who wouldn't know a day of hard work if it hit them in the face. ☕

Look, man, no matter how much of a Southern boy you claim to be, I’m from even further South than that. 😁

ufomammut is a complete outsider. 👍

Charles Ramos4 said:I guess people shouldn't be surprised that Kuzma rushed in at the very last second, especially since most of the folks hanging out here just call the ocean "water." ☕

No matter how much salt is in the ocean, it's all just water. 😳

Gerald Jackson48 said:No matter how much salt is in the ocean, at the end of the day, it's all just water. 😳

Well, if it's all just water to you, maybe go grab a drink down by the lake instead. 😛

Darče, I remember you being from Dubrovnik—don't get worked up now. ☕

Here we go again with the North vs. South rivalry—honestly, just save the measuring contests for the highway construction crews. On this thread, it’s really just a tiny group of people doing it—Dennis Hall41, Jessica Morris6, and those two doctors. 😁
