🤣 you totally called it 👍

I’m pretty sure two of them belong to Wanderer and maybe quietbison86; I can't say for certain, but as for the rest? No clue. ☕

Mark Cruz15 said:So I finally figured out why Bon Jovi is there—it’s just alphabetical order. Makes sense, doesn't it?

You guys are totally barking up the wrong tree, ladies—honestly! For me, it’s R.E.M. because their track was sitting at number one on the day I was born. I mean, how can I not feel like I owe them one after that? It's like a little cosmic debt I have to settle somehow.

I don't know, I feel like I should probably say that one flows right into the other through my veins—if that makes any sense? Or maybe it doesn't. But honestly, it's just how it feels. 😁
cosmiccobra2 said:🤣 You guys really dragged him out, didn't you? Seriously, you just kept dragging him along—why even bother? 👍

Look, I know for a fact who two of them belong to—it’s definitely Gerald Jackson48 and quietbison86, most likely—but honestly? Beyond that, I haven't got a clue. I'm not 100% certain, but my gut says those two. As for the rest? Total mystery to me. ☕

Two of them are absolute bangers—total locks. The rest? Honestly, just filler. I guess if I actually sit down and listen to the whole thing, I’ll somehow end up smarter or whatever, right? 😛

If nobody else steps up and votes, we’re gonna end up stuck with three albums in one week 😁

And none of them are Desire 😠

I think we've actually had situations where we ended up with three albums in a week before—unless I'm remembering things wrong, I guess. 😁

I’m pretty sure we’ve had weeks where we dropped three albums—unless my memory is totally shot, which, let's be honest, happens more often than I'd like to admit 😁

don't give away your hand (just yet) 😁

My suggestion isn't even in the list of albums offered—that's why I'm chiming in 🙂

Man, I just realized we've been played—somebody totally rigged this so only one album comes out on top at the end. 🤣 It’s like they pulled a fast one on us in the final minute, just like those Sudanese guys did back then. Unbelievable. And a huge "thanks" to you, whoever you are, lurking on this forum. 😁

I've listened to this Tool album already, though probably not enough times to actually memorize it. Honestly, they were starting to get a bit stale for me because every track felt identical, but this might be the exception since the songs have such great energy.

For me, Lateralus is one of their least interesting records. This is where they really veered away from that sense of humor and self-deprecation that made their early stuff so good, opting instead to go full-blown esoteric. “Saturn ascends, choose one or ten...” If I actually wanted to learn about my astrological profile, I’d just read the collected works of Baba Vanga or listen to, I don't know, Blind Guardian.

But hey, by the time they hit 10,000 Days, they're trying to fix it with lyrics like “I shit the bed” in some smoke-filled outlet. Though even that album has its issues, likely because they ditched Bottrill as producer.

Honestly, I’m actually kind of glad Bon Jovi didn't do any better. They're basically just music for immature teenagers and girls going through puberty, and I'm pretty sure we've all moved past that stage by now. I can tell you who suggested most of the other tracks, but how Bon Jovi even made the list is a total mystery to me.

I’ve just had enough of this Can stuff. It’s honestly just tedious...

Gerald Jackson48 said:Personally, I find Lateralus to be one of their least engaging records. It feels like they completely abandoned that sense of humor and self-deprecation that made their early stuff so great, opting instead to dive headfirst into pure esotericism. “Saturn ascends, choose one or ten...” If I actually wanted to explore my astrological destiny, I’d go pick up some collected works by Baba Vanga or maybe just blast some Blind Guardian.

But honestly, they try to pivot back on 10,000 Days with lyrics like “I shit the bed” in some smoke-filled outlet. Even then, the album as a whole feels a bit fractured, probably because they made the mistake of ditching Bottrill behind the boards.

That’s all down to personal taste. I’m a huge Tool fan, and Lateralus is easily my favorite of theirs. If I had to rank them, it would be Lateralus, Undertow, Ænima, Fear Inoculum, and only then 10,000 Days.

As for Grudge, you can interpret it a hundred different ways—if you want to pull in astrology, go for it. Some tracks definitely have double meanings, but most of them are pretty straightforward.

Haven't checked out this Can record yet, but I'll give it a listen.

I’m not sure if I should mention which albums I voted for, but since it’s all over now, I’ll just say I went with Jackson, Tool, and Maboul.

I put my vote in for Michael Jackson 😁 and, honestly, I'm a little bummed it didn't win. It’s not because he was sitting right there just one vote behind; it’s more about the fact that this is week 100. This particular week felt a bit underwhelming to me. I really think we’d get better results if we picked "All-Time Great" albums based on actual consensus. Some might argue that's too restrictive, but I don't see it that way—there are hundreds of legendary albums out there, so everyone would find something they love. But hey, it is what it is.

Congrats to the winner. I actually thought the quartet had suggested 😁

I never go for those "greatest hits" picks... not even when we're talking about full albums.

Can has absolutely nothing to do with the neighborhood. 😁 Besides, that isn't even his decade.
I’d probably recognize which suggestion was made even if I hadn't put the list together myself. 😛

While we sit around waiting for whoever suggested the winning album to actually start a new thread...
I don't see any of Dennis Hall41's crew showing up yet, and he has a habit of vanishing for long stretches.

Does anyone feel like treating us to an intro for Metallica? Who actually voted for them?

I noticed Dennis Hall41 hasn't shown up yet—he has a habit of disappearing for long stretches.

The last suggestion might end up being our winner, and since Dennis Hall41 is MIA, I guess that means Dylan was your pick.😁

🍿

No, Bob Dylan isn't. 😢
It’s honestly wild that we haven't had Dylan in a hundred albums. I guess Bob Dylan - Desire is easily one of my top three favorites of his, and he definitely deserves his own theme. I really hope whoever suggested this pulls through again and gets it opened, regardless of whether it actually gets picked. 😉 🙂

Well, Bob Dylan isn't—unfortunately. 😢
It’s crazy that we haven't had a Dylan theme in the last hundred albums. I guess 'Bob Dylan - Desire' is easily one of my top three favorites of his, so he really deserves his own spotlight. I'm just hoping whoever suggested this actually pulled through again and opened it up, even if it didn't end up being the final pick. 😉 🙂

Honestly, I'm just waiting for you or Dennis Hall41 to suggest Dylan, since it seems like you two know his stuff way better than I do—even if you both act like experts sometimes. 😁 If I remember right, you already mentioned 'Desire' in another thread and said it was one of your favorites too (it's one of mine, as well), so I figured this might be your idea. Anyway, consider the bolded part signed. 👍
