Yeah, I always figured the Greek league was a bit of an underdog circuit, but man—only 39.4% hitting the over? And seeing 13% of matches end in a scoreless 0-0 draw... that's just brutal. 😲

Probable Lineups: LA Galaxy vs. Orlando City SC

The only real headache here—and I mean this—is that our front line is missing Almeida and Niang again.
We were stuck without them back in Bursa too, and even then we managed a couple of decent looks, though Pektemek was basically missing the target all night... just totally off.
But playing at home today? I really think they’ll cook up some chances. Honestly, it hasn't happened yet this season where they haven't scored in two straight games... it's like they're just wired to find the net...
Now, Orlando is showing up with their full offensive arsenal—Isaac Promise, Lamine Diarra, I. Aissati, Tita... and let me tell you, looking at the top tier teams, aside from maybe the Dodgers, they've got one of the leakier defenses out there. They've surrendered 43 goals, which is only one fewer than what the Dodgers gave up.

Orlando is coming into this on a brutal losing streak, so this is a massive opportunity for them to snap it. Both squads have been scoring and conceding left and right—they're both high-octane...
And if the stats don't tell you anything, nothing will.

Look at the last three matchups—though, granted, those were all played down in Florida;

12.12.12, Orlando City SC - LA Galaxy 2 : 1 (Cup Match)
18.11.12, Orlando City SC - LA Galaxy 3 : 5
20.01.12, Orlando City SC - LA Galaxy 1 : 2

Over 1.5 - Both Teams to Score +2.00

Regarding the scoring trends—I can only really point to the Portuguese league. Looking at the data on this board, about 53% of their matches hit the over, and they’re pulling a high average of 2.83 goals per game.
The style of play in the MLS is wide open—plenty of chances being created—but the strikers are just frustratingly mediocre. It’s especially bad when you look at the clubs sitting at the bottom of the table.

Based on my experience—and the data seems to back this up—there are certain teams where the over consistently hits. In this table— Braga and Nacional remain steady—while others have completely overhauled their tactical approach compared to last season. Take Pacos Ferreira, for example. Last year, she was practically a staple in the ODG3+ category, frequently hitting 4+ goals per game. This season, they’ve tightened things up significantly; they aren't conceding nearly as often, making the "under" a very reliable play most of the time.

Eric Fox7 said:I always knew the Greek leagues were bottom-tier—low quality, nothing new there—but seeing only a 39.4% over rate is a bit much. To top it off, 13% of their matches end in a 0-0 stalemate. Not exactly thrilling stuff. 😲

Look, 13% is a massive margin—that’s roughly one out of every eight games. In practical terms, you're looking at an entire game per round.
The odds for a 0-0 draw—if my memory serves—sit somewhere around 6.50 to 7.00. That’s hardly worth the risk even in a defensive grind like the Greek league, let alone in any of the more high-octane major leagues.

When you're hunting for overs, you really ought to keep an eye on the Chilean league... I don't have the exact percentages memorized—I haven't spent my life staring at spreadsheets—but the way they play soccer there isn't half bad. It’s high-octane stuff, lots of scoring chances and actual skill, basically just "attack-first" football 😁 if you want the quick version. To give you a ballpark idea, looking at the last 50 matches in that league, 31 of them went over 2.5 goals, while only 3 ended up in a boring 0:0 deadlock.

Lazio vs Juventus 2-2, 2.00

Both sides look pretty drained after all those midweek European fixtures, but I'm leaning toward the visitors here. Honestly, Juve hasn't conceded a single goal in their last two matches against Bayern Munich, so they’ll probably want to prove they’re still running the league... Lazio has been looking sluggish and just plain inefficient this season, so even with the home-field advantage, I'm sticking with Juventus. Betting on the straight result isn't exactly a heavy hitter, but the Juve scoring a goal at 1.25 option looks too good to pass up. That's my play for a bigger wager...

There’s a real chance we see a blowout in Rome—Lazio is looking completely cooked, especially with how shaky their defense is right now...

Biava, S. Radu, Lulic, A Konko, Andre Dias, Pereirinha...

As for Juventus:
Chiellini, Giovinco, and Pepe are all out of the lineup.

Brage vs. Ostersunds: I'm calling it now, Brage 2+ 1.95

So, our boys from Brage have absolutely ripped it out of the gate this season—they cruised to a 2-0 road win against a tiny outfit like Angeholm in the opener, and before that, they handled their business in the cup with a 3-1 victory over some bottom-tier squad... totally dominant.
Today they’re hosting the league newcomers, Ostersunds, who looked pretty shaky after just scraping a 1-1 draw at home against Assyriska in their first match.
Look, Brage isn't playing around this year; they're gunning for the top spot and promotion, no doubt about it. They actually went out and grabbed some serious veteran talent to bolster the roster—guys like Demba-Nyren, Meredith in goal, Ljunggren-Eriksson, Jan Tauer, and even Dulee Johnson... it's a heavy-hitting lineup.
They’re clearly the superior side, they’ve got the home-field advantage, and I’m expecting them to come out swinging offensively. Honestly, they should be able to put up more than one goal against a team that's probably just fighting to stay out of the relegation zone...

Roger Phillips said:It looks like they’re going to settle on Jorge Jesus...

I was under the impression you might have some insight regarding the starting lineup... Looking at the stats, the spread is sitting at 2.00 for Cardozo not finding the back of the net, which feels interesting given he hasn't been in the starting eleven much lately; there’s a decent chance he spends tonight watching from the bench again... Plus, I caught some notes suggesting Lima has been having a field day against Pacos recently, so playing that angle might actually be a smart move...

I suspect we might see Cardozo in the starting lineup tonight. Rodrigo was out there against the Newcastle game on Thursday, and since Jesus tends to rotate the squad quite a bit—he's looking for freshness—it stands to reason they’d opt for a rested, more dangerous Cardozo from the opening whistle.

We'll see how it plays out... Today's match isn't really the big one; everyone is looking ahead to the weekend game against Sporting, even though Pep mentioned he’s planning to run with his strongest squad. There's a chance we see Kadec start too, though I suspect he'll probably just come off the bench later in the game...

SEATTLE SOUNDERS VS. PORTLAND TIMBERS 2 3.15

The Sounders are playing at home, and on paper, they’re the clear favorites—especially considering they walked away with the trophy last season. Then you look at Portland. They brought in some heavy hitters early last year and made all the noise about a title run, but they never really found their rhythm and ended up stuck right in the middle of the pack. This year, though, the vibe is different; they’ve already dropped two wins and a goal differential of 5:0. On the flip side, Seattle has limped through two draws, and frankly, I don't see them posing much of a threat to the visitors today. This match feels like it’s headed for an away win, and the odds are looking pretty juicy for it. The home side might struggle to even find the back of the net today. Just keep an eye on Portland—they have all the markings of a true championship contender this season, and if I had to bet, I’d say they’re taking the whole thing. We're only three games into the season, but the patterns are already starting to emerge.

Good luck

Benfica - Pacos Ferreira | Over 2.5 goals @ 2.40 | 4/10 | HL

Benfica is in peak form—steamrolling everyone in their path with seven straight wins in the league—and they’re legitimately hunting a domestic treble this season. They’ve practically got the league title in the bag, they just reached the Europa League semifinals, and today they’re defending a 2-0 cushion from the first leg against Pacos in the cup semifinals.
They play great football, scoring plenty of goals, and lately, their defense has been remarkably solid, at least in league play.
Following a somewhat grueling Europa League semifinal advancement secured last Thursday in Newcastle, it looks like Salvio, Perez, and Lima might be sidelined tonight—key pieces for the Eagles. That said, it isn't as if they lack capable depth; veterans like Aimar and Cardozo are ready to step up.
I’ve written quite a bit about Pacos this season, so I’ll keep this brief. They are a well-organized, compact side with a disciplined defense and a lethal counter-attack; they find openings easily and play attractive soccer.
They have a full squad available, aside from Vitor, who was sent off in the first leg.

Pacos has to attack tonight, and they certainly have the tools to do it. They know chasing a 2-0 deficit will be an uphill battle, especially playing in the cauldron of the Luz, but they won't roll over. Their results this season speak for themselves.
To be fair, Benfica has swept all three meetings between them this season (2-1, 2-0, and 3-0).

As for the numbers, the stats suggest:
The head-to-head figures understandably favor Benfica, and convincingly so—they’ve won 16 of their last 17 matchups, including 15 of the last 16 played at the Luz. Most of these games have been high-scoring affairs, and Pacos has managed to find the net in 15 of their last 18 encounters.

Benfica will likely be a bit fatigued after Thursday's grind. They hold a comfortable lead from the first leg and might be missing one or two vital players. This gives Pacos opportunities—opportunities I hope they capitalize on.

For those looking for more value: it's not a bad bet to look at 2/1 @ 29 | HL. Pacos will definitely yield possession tonight, but they know how to defend; they've proven it repeatedly this season against top-tier clubs (think Porto or Benfica) by staying tight through the first half before getting outplayed in the second. In such a scenario, Pacos could grab a goal, forcing Benfica to push harder in the second half, which would naturally leave spaces for Pacos to exploit—especially since a one-goal win won't get them through.

Incidentally, the average odds for the over are around 1.61, making this 2.40 a massive outlier. Even accounting for bookmaker logic, they seem to think a 3-0 blowout is more likely than an over involving a Pacos goal, but I don't buy it. Pacos is a quality outfit, and I expect them to show it tonight.

Richard Young10 said:We'll see... Today's match isn't all that critical—they have Sporting this weekend, even though Jesus hinted at running out the strongest lineup. Maybe Cardec starts, though he’ll likely just come off the bench later on.

I wouldn't say it's unimportant—this is one of the major trophies in American soccer.
True, they face Sporting this weekend, but it's hardly a derby anymore—not outside of what the papers say. Sporting has been absolutely abysmal this season—truly bottom-tier—so I don't expect Benfica to run into much trouble here. I was reading earlier that Jesus hasn't won a domestic cup in his career, and he's clearly hungry to grab one this season.
Word is they're going with the heavy hitters. I doubt Cardec starts; players like Rodrigo, Lima, and Cardozo have the edge right now. Like you said, he might get some minutes late in the game.
Regarding lineups, they usually post them on the official site about 15 minutes before kickoff (sometimes sooner)—if you check the sidebar under league and cup fixtures, you can see if Cardozo is starting. Don't count on the odds moving on ESPN until those names are actually confirmed. 😁

I think he’s saying this game doesn't really matter—he was probably referring to the fact that they're already sitting pretty with a 2-0 lead from the first leg 🙂

Man City vs. Wigan/Wigan to score @1.85 BTTS

Is this finally the game where Wigan cracks the code and puts one past City, especially since they haven't managed it in their last six matchups? I'm calling it now...
They’re fighting for their lives to stay up, and honestly, that run to the FA Cup final has given them a massive second wind—they've put at least one in the net in each of their last five outings.
Meanwhile, City is basically a brick wall at home; their defense is so locked down they've kept clean sheets in eight straight home games. Only Liverpool even sniffed a goal there, and that was four weeks ago! Wigan might just be the ones to break that streak...

Cerro Porteno-Deportes Tolima 2 2,35
The home team is sitting dead last—completely out of the running for anything meaningful after five straight losses and scoring a measly three goals total. It’s a disaster, honestly...
The away side desperately needs this win, and they're basically praying that Santa Fe pulls one out against Real G. just to help them snatch that second-place spot.
Cerro P. played a totally rotated lineup in their last outing too—just a bunch of kids and inexperienced players—and they got absolutely demolished 5-1 in Peru.
Word is we're looking at a similar situation today because the coach wants to give his star players a breather:

http://www.d10.com.py/futbol/primera...-en-la-entrega

Tolima is coming in hungry for the win, they’ve got the motivation, and let’s be real, they’re way more talented than these guys. At 2.35, I really think taking the win on them is the move here...

Budweiser Brewing Co.-Chicago Bulls Chicago 2+ 1,83

The visitors are coming in with their absolute heavy hitters—we’re talking the full squad, the A-team, everyone... so Chicago Bulls will probably roll out their strongest lineup possible.
They've been on a tear lately too, dropping 10 goals over their last two games alone.

Looking at the history, Chicago has managed three wins and two draws in their last five matchups against Budweiser.
And get this—the Chicago guys have managed to find the back of the net at least twice in every single one of those five games.

If the visitors actually come out swinging in this match, I honestly think they can easily bag at least two goals.
The home defense is looking pretty shaky right now, especially since their main defensive anchor, Ryan McCann, is sidelined and won't be playing.
I mean, look at their last away game against the Glenavon crew—they got absolutely demolished, losing 7-0.
On average, Budweiser is giving up about 2.5 goals per game... so yeah.

St. Louis City SC vs. FC Cincinnati GG Over 2.5 @ 1.85

So, St. Louis has played one home game in this playoff stretch—a total dud against LAFC, just a 0-0 grind...
They actually pulled off away wins in both their previous outings though.
Cincinnati is sitting pretty with two wins and a draw under their belt.
And get this—in all three of Cincinnati’s matches, they've been scoring and conceding like crazy. Total chaos.
But look, St. Louis showed some actual grit last round—they were down 3-1 and somehow clawed their way back to grab a 4-3 win. Talk about heart.
It’s high time these guys find the back of the net at home... honestly, I think it's a lock because Cincinnati plays such an open, aggressive style. They’re all offense, no defense—five straight games where goals have been flying in both directions.
Funny enough, the only time Cincinnati failed to score on the road this season was when they visited St. Louis back in February.
Expect fireworks and a wide-open game in St. Louis... there's gonna be plenty of chances.
Injury reports aren't looking too bad for either side, either...

Arsenal vs. Everton GG Over 2.5 @ 2.05

It’s a massive game here—pure fight for those Champions League spots.
There’s zero doubt in my mind that both squads are going to come out swinging for the win.
Arsenal holds the upper hand right now, but man, they can't afford even a tiny slip-up... with Chelsea, Spurs, and Everton breathing down their necks, one bad night could ruin everything.
Arsenal is usually a fortress at home, rarely letting anything past them—I mean, look at those shutouts against Stoke, West Brom, QPR, and Sunderland.
On the flip side, Everton has struggled to find the net on the road, failing to score in trips to Southampton, West Brom, and Man United.
Arsenal has dropped three home games this season, while Everton has lost four on the road. They’re both top-tier teams, really... they only stumble because their bench depth is kind of thin.
Don't count the visitors out, though. I really think they’re gonna give the home side a serious headache... they’re exactly the type of squad that loves playing the underdog role against the big favorites.
I’m calling it: heavy pressure from the home side, gutsy play from the visitors, a few defensive blunders, and definitely goals on both sides.
The keeper is back, along with Mertens, Saka, and Martinelli—but we're missing Rosicky and Diaby. Everton looks pretty much full strength, too (and Hibbert is basically out for the foreseeable future anyway).
