Way too many questions to be answering while I'm on the clock. 😬

If I don't hear anything back from anyone else, I'll just reach out to you tomorrow.

Too many damn questions popping up while I'm just trying to give my brain a rest over the weekend. 😬

So, another week down the drain—we got completely swept up in all those holiday festivities, didn't we? Between the Fourth of July and all the long weekends following it...

And still, absolutely zero response from anyone. 🙂

Anyway, I’ve got this one question that’s been nagging at me for ages. You know that little icon at the top left of the page next to where it says Reddit? It looks like some weird hybrid between a printer and an office building 🤦—but if it’s a printer, why does it have doors and windows? And if it’s a building, why on earth does it have paper guides and a cooling vent?

I'm genuinely curious: what is that thing supposed to be?

RJ-11 😁

http://reddit.com/showthread.php?t=580058

I actually wrote out a full response to that massive post earlier, but then—mysteriously—it just vanished into thin air. 😬 So, to keep things brief:
1. The mods and admins are essentially working for free, putting in their own time on top of everything else they do.
2. Reddit is easily one of the top five websites in America, and trust me, advertisers aren't blind to that kind of reach.
3. The site runs on vBulletin version 3.8.4 and is hosted across several different servers. All of that costs money. Up until about 2008, this whole thing wasn't even profitable.
4. Right now, there’s a real issue with the site getting bogged down by ancient posts, old chats, and all that clutter. So, the decision was made to do a little spring cleaning.

Ugh, seriously... 🙏 basically just standard legal boilerplate at this point

But honestly? I was hoping for a much more detailed breakdown—I’m really not satisfied with these tiny little crumbs of information they're tossing us 🙂

And here's my unsolicited advice for the day: it is high time you start charging what you're actually worth. Go out there and demand your money. At the end of the day, the person hiring you is making a profit off your labor anyway 😉

A little bit of advice for you too: just embrace the whole online forum thing and let go of all those worries that aren't even your problem to begin with.

Speaking of which, I’ve been wondering how the hell this thread managed to stay alive for this long and rack up so many posts? It’s basically just people sticking their noses into things that have absolutely nothing to do with the average Joe...

They could always drop a newer skin...
A little bit of a change wouldn't hurt... 🤷

Generally speaking, a few tweaks for the better across every single segment wouldn't hurt 😉

Growing up, I was always taught that transparency is a virtue. 😉 This isn't some shady corporation trying to pull the wool over your eyes by hiding its inner workings—you know, unlike those massive telecom giants out there. 😬

There isn't anything inherently wrong with asking, but if I were running the show, I'd be pretty annoyed if someone came up to me with questions like "so how do you actually make money?" or "how much are you pulling in?"...
it's even funnier because that same crowd gets all huffy and offended the second you give them a blunt "none of your business."

So, why on earth does my typing get all jumbled up? The letters just start scrambling themselves and lose all sense of order—for example, I’m literally typing this right now just to see how much of a mess it makes of things. On top of that, the cursor keeps blinking erratically. This keeps happening specifically on this Reddit thread, though it isn't constant. Some days it works perfectly fine. When I'm trying to type
it feels like I have to hit a key and then actually wait a beat before I can input the next one._ Why is this even happening?

You really are one of a kind—I don't think anyone else out there deals with a mess quite like this one😁

🙂Haha, apparently you aren't even allowed to mention having a problem anymore. You all act like everything is absolutely perfect. If that's the case, why even keep this section of the forum active? I might as well just go ahead and finish what I started...🤮

Did it ever cross your mind that you might have just picked up some garbage somewhere else instead of posting it here? 🤷

Look, if I’m not running into character encoding issues on other subreddits, then there’s a fundamental flaw in your logic. You’re acting like everything is perfectly fine here and that your side is somehow immune to bugs or errors.

I even ran into this response elsewhere: "We'll look into it, and if the issue is on our end, we'll fix it; otherwise, check your own hardware. Just stay on this platform if you want things to work."

I have no idea where you saw me say you aren't allowed to mention having an issue 🤷
I’m just pointing out that you seem to be the one and only person dealing with such ridiculous difficulties. 😁

As far as testing goes, there isn't much I can actually do about it—so all I can really manage is laugh. 😬

I even got this response from support: "We'll look into it, and if it's our fault, we'll fix it; otherwise, check your own computer. Just hang in there."

I don't usually jump into discussions since I mostly just lurk and read through threads, but I felt compelled to respond to this "brilliant" post, so please don't take this personally.

Which web browser are you running? Are you using Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, or Chrome? It might be worth trying a different one. Try clearing your cache and refreshing the page.

Before you go hunting for a technical fix, you really need to provide some basic details about your setup. 👍

Speaking from experience, there is a 99.9999% chance the issue is on your side, and I mean that with no disrespect intended.
