So what happens to the folks running an ad-blocker who don't see any of the ads anyway? 😂😂

Honestly, I barely catch a single annoying ad on any of the sites I hang out on.

What’s the absolute longest someone can sit with a "banned" status?

...it could be anything from a three-day suspension to a permanent ban...

Technically speaking, a ban can land you anywhere from a single day off to being gone for good. 😁 🙂

I’m honestly at my wit's end here, so I figured I’d just toss this out on Reddit and see if anyone actually knows what's going on. It’s driving me absolutely insane—the fact that I still can't delete my own posts on UNESCO. Like, I can go into any other PDF sub-thread and wipe my footprint without a second thought, but on UNESCO? Not a chance. I’ve complained about this more times than I can count, but it feels like I'm just shouting into a void because nothing ever changes.

Seriously, why is it that I have full control over my stuff on every other PDF board, yet on UNESCO, I'm basically stuck with whatever nonsense I posted? Is this just some weird glitch happening to me, or is the site just built this way?

Trust me, you aren't the only one feeling this way. There’s already been a push to bring back the ability to delete posts over at UNESCO, so fingers crossed they roll that feature back out sooner rather than later.

So, how does one actually become a moderator? And where do they all hang out?

Sorry if there's already a thread about this or if I'm totally in the wrong spot!

🙂

If you need it, just ask first. It’s really none of your business—we pull from the same damn places you browse on Reddit...

Merging this with the existing thread.

I was thinking maybe I could moderate a thread, if that's possible!

It’s just not happening. 🙂

Why is that?

It’s not just about having the authority to moderate a single thread—it’s about controlling an entire sub-section of the site. And let’s be honest, most people don't actually get picked for moderator roles unless they're just power-hungry types who want the title for the sake of it. 😛

How about you actually sit down and read this thread? At least check out the first few posts.

Here I am! So, I was wondering, when you guys eventually decide to pick a new moderator somewhere, maybe I'll be on the shortlist since I did say I was interested?

Nah.

Your personal opinion doesn't have anything to do with how we pick a new moderator.

Is it actually possible to operate under two different handles? What kind of rules are we talking about if someone decides to maintain two identities? And how does one go about registering a second account when they're using the exact same IP address? I've noticed certain users on Reddit running dual accounts, so I'm curious—how is that even permitted?

Yeah, you can technically run multiple accounts—what people call clones. But there's a catch: you have to register each one to a different email address; you can't just use the same one over and over.

The real kicker, though, is if any single account gets banned, you’re done for—you aren't allowed to use any of them. On top of that, trying to jump into the same thread with different handles or, god forbid, having a conversation with yourself, is strictly off-limits.

I guess if any of those accounts get banned, you aren't allowed to use any of them. Also, it's against the rules to talk about the same topic using different accounts or basically just talking to yourself.

But wait, how would they even know if both accounts belong to the same person?
