Some people just completely miss the details that actually matter to me... take my friend, for example... if I dyed my hair bright pink, she wouldn't even notice...😂

Hey, does anyone happen to know if Dr. Lukšić or Dr. Orihovac run their own private practices? I was wondering if anyone here has actually been in to see them before. If anyone has any intel 🙂 🙂

Oh, by the way, Dr. Orihovac is over at the Mayo Clinic...

I’m reposting this because things got a bit cluttered here and my previous message got buried under all the noise..

Guys, I need some advice if anyone knows

I have a deviated septum, so my breathing isn't great and I snore, though it's nothing extreme.
The thing is, over the last few years, my nose has become noticeably crooked, and I’m wondering if insurance would even cover that part of the surgery..
They’ll definitely pay for fixing the deviation, but as for the aesthetic side of things, I'm not so sure?
How do I handle this? Does anyone have any tips or know how this works?

People will tell you that nothing changed, or that you were actually prettier before, just to devalue the fact that you made a change for the better. 😉
I know, I know... it's a friend. But even with people I expected to give me their full support while I tried to fix this issue, I’ve received those kinds of comments. Honestly, looking back, I could see it was nothing more than pure envy. ☕

Can anyone help me out? I guess I'm looking for some insight.

So, I have a deviated septum. It makes breathing a little difficult and I snore, though it isn't anything extreme.
The thing is, over the last few years, the entire shape of my nose has sort of... shifted. And I’m wondering if I wouldn't be able to get the cosmetic part covered by my insurance?
I mean, they will definitely cover the surgery for the deviation, but I'm just not sure about the aesthetic side of things.
How should I even approach this? Does anyone have any advice or perhaps knows how this works?

From what I gather, most of the women who went through this via their health insurance mentioned that you just need to bring up the aesthetic concerns with your doctor during the consultation for the deviation. Then, you can see if they'll agree to include it.

Guys, I really need some insight here

So, I’ve got a deviated septum. My breathing isn't great and I snore, though it’s nothing crazy.
The thing is, over the last few years, the whole shape of my nose has kind of "shifted," and I’m wondering if insurance would even touch the cosmetic side of things..?
Like, they'll definitely cover fixing the deviation, but I have no clue about the aesthetic part.
How do I even approach this? Does anyone have any advice or know how this works?

People have actually brought this up a few times lately... even just recently. Obviously, if you’re going in to fix a deviation at a hospital, there’s a chance you can get the cosmetic stuff handled at the same time. But you really have to hammer that out with whichever surgeon is performing the procedure. We can't speak for them, obviously. A lot of girls on here have actually had their noses fixed that exact way. You should look into which specific doctors handle both.

I get that we're talking about a friend here... but I've had people—people I genuinely expected to have my back while I worked to fix an insecurity—drop comments like that. Honestly? It felt less like an opinion and more like pure envy. ☕

Unfortunately, it's the truth...🙄

Hey everyone.... I had surgery about 15 days ago and my nose is still pretty swollen... which I know is totally normal 😁.... I had a deviated septum and managed to get the whole thing covered by my insurance through Blue Cross, and while I was at it, I worked things out with the doctor to handle the cosmetic side too. Basically, he smoothed out the hump and lifted the tip so my profile looks absolutely perfect, but from the front? It’s a disaster. Maybe it's just the swelling, but I don't know... before the surgery, my nose drifted to the left because of the deviation, though it wasn't super obvious—only I noticed, or maybe if someone really stared closely. Now, it's incredibly noticeable..... is it normal for it to look like this while it's swollen? I'm honestly terrified it'll stay this way. How many months does it usually take for the swelling to go down?? 😕 If it actually stays like this, I'd have to go back under the knife, so I'm wondering how much time you need to wait after the first procedure before doing it again? (If anyone is curious about where I went or who my surgeon was, just shoot me a private message) I have a follow-up appointment coming up soon, so I'll ask the doctor if it's normal for the nose to seem like it's pulling to one side 😢😢 thanks

I get it's about a friend... but even people I expected to have my back while I was trying to fix my flaws would drop comments like that. Honestly? It just felt like straight-up jealousy. ☕

Facts. 100% 🙄

My nose used to tilt to the left because of the deviation, but it was subtle—like, only I noticed unless someone was staring intensely at my face—but now it's actually noticeable... My nose used to have a slight tilt before my first surgery too... but after the procedure, things honestly just went downhill. Both my breathing and the way I looked were a mess. I used to joke that my nose tip was going to end up touching my ear 😁 My second surgery was with a private specialist, and now my nose is almost perfectly straight (it can't get any straighter than this because of my facial symmetry). Honestly, 15 days is way too early to know anything for sure... you're just gonna have to be patient. Fingers crossed everything turns out okay for you and it doesn't end up like mine 👍

Want to bet? Between what he told me personally—which another girl just confirmed, by the way—and everything else, he’s convinced he knows everything. He claims he can track anything through third parties or online... even though he insists he doesn't read these forums. Typical... 😍

I expect at least a decent answer to my question...

I already told you—if I missed something, it wasn't on purpose. I even said to just ask me again... but clearly, you only see what you want to see. Over and out... 🙂

What's the rush?...😳 It’s only been 15 days—give it a rest. Your nose is going to shift around plenty more times before this settles. There will be days where it feels like it's leaning left or right, or maybe just uneven, bumpy, or even kind of spongy... you'll definitely feel some lumps too. It’s also super common for the swelling to flare up in the morning or right after you wake up. Usually, you have to wait about six months post-op to see the real result, but Smith says you might start seeing things sooner than that...

I was just being an absolute sweetheart, clearly... purple is my color 😁
Honestly... I received instructions for everything, from diet plans to behavioral guidelines. And no matter how much we think we know or how prepared we feel before surgery, it’s still somewhat encouraging when you're sitting there with a broken nose and someone with a perfect nose tells you it'll all pass quickly 😍

You were brave, and you should be proud of that 👍 and like I told you then, it all passes. It hurts like hell, but there's a certain lift in realizing you actually endured something like this 😉

Anyway, I reached out to a girl who Dalia messaged privately, and it turns out he's just some minor actress. Honestly, it's a bit disappointing. He's got that whole 'Miss Piggy' nose going on...

Personally, I think his nose is fine. Definitely doesn't remind me of Miss Piggy at all😛.😁The key is knowing how to emphasize what you want while actually following his advice. Thank God I listened to him🙏. If I had stayed stubborn and insisted on doing things my way, I’d probably be crawling through the dirt right now...👍

You completely miss the point. There is such a thing as decency. If I went out of my way to send you photos of my face upon your request, I expect at least a polite response to my question.

But fine, whatever.

And wasn't stormyharbor2 the one telling girls that a small nose doesn't suit everyone and that such a nose wouldn't look right on her face?? Now, suddenly, a small nose is the issue. Fine, not my problem, I'm just observing.

edit—Kate Taylor59, your inbox is full. I can't answer your question there.

What is there left to say? Here is a universal truth: don't get worked up. Save your nerves. You're going to need them for your later years.🤣

stormyharbor2, dear, and everyone else. I had my nose done about five years ago. It looked fine after the first year, but looking back at old photos now, everything seems smaller and narrower😍. Apparently, some people—myself included, clearly—need much more time for things to settle. So, don't be dense and spend your time hunting for flaws😲 in what is😲 perfectly fine. It feels like some people just look for any tiny reason to nitpick, probably just to obsess over it until they end up looking like Michael Jackson. And honestly, who can blame them if the world laughs at you? People can be merciless when they notice a clear surgical change and immediately label you as insecure...👎But those who are truly fragile, unrealistic, or obsessed with being a carbon copy of someone else, will never find peace. That lack of self-worth is baked into them.😢As The Goddess might say, I was the first one to reach out to her. I genuinely enjoy helping, offering advice, lifting people up, and sharing a laugh. It makes me feel good. We should focus on that, rather than turning ourselves into some surgically altered monster.🤷😢To wrap this up—and this isn't directed at you specifically, just general advice for everyone—the little things matter. Good makeup, nice nails, stylish clothes, a smile... Just let your nose heal for at least two years, and then you'll see the real results, just like I did!👍

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about my nose—everyone else seems way more obsessed with it than I am. 🤣 I just don't have the energy for it. 🤷 Whatever it looks like, it looks like it... because there's no way I'm going under the knife a second time. I haven't even made it to a follow-up appointment yet, mostly because life has just been getting in the way...

Laughing Man, I know that trick all too well. Honestly, I’ve been using it myself... I’ve been "celebrating my 25th" for a few years now.😂 🤣 😂 🤣
