Rhinoplasty: Experiences and recovery tips?

I saw John Smith today, and he actually set aside an entire hour just for me... I ended up apologizing for taking up so much of his time, since Glumičić had already booked $50 for a consultation, but I basically left before I even walked in, for no real reason. Anyway—John Smith is great; I've definitely decided to go through with my surgery with him.

Look, this was actually my second surgery. My first one—and I hate to say it—was handled by an incompetent surgeon who basically wrecked my entire nasal structure. They performed a septorhinoplasty back then... basically trying to fix a deviated septum while also attempting to reshape the bridge of my nose.

Can you shoot me a DM?
Thanks in advance 🙂

Man, I am so sorry to hear that....
Where did you have that first surgery?

If someone had actually done that to me, the whole world would already know who they were...😁

hey,
I just really need to vent about Kincl and maybe warn someone else... basically, I had nose surgery with him almost two years ago. Once everything settled down, I noticed the tip of my nose looked totally off. Like, there are these little bumps on both sides. They feel like huge, hard subcutaneous pimples—he tried telling me it was just cartilage, but seriously? It’s like having two little horns poking out. One side was way more obvious than the other; you could definitely see them jutting out in photos. So, Kincl scheduled me for a revision under local anesthesia. That happened back in April this year. At first, I thought, "Okay, cool, it's fixed," but it turns out that was just swelling. Now that the swelling is gone, those damn bumps are still right there 😢 and honestly, the worst part is there’s actually another irregularity on my nose, but these lumps are so distracting I don't even notice it anymore...
I mean, okay, I initially thought, "Maybe I just got unlucky and things went wrong for me." But then, about a month ago, a friend comes over—she also had surgery with him earlier this year in January—and she tells me she’s been scheduled for a revision because *she* has a bump too. So, you tell me, is it normal for everyone to need a redo after surgery (which clearly doesn't even work)? 🤷 I am seriously so disappointed. I really regret not going to someone else instead...

They feel like huge, hard under-the-skin pimples—he told me it was just cartilage—almost like two little horns, and one side was much more obvious than the other, so you could really see them protruding in photos... so, Kincl scheduled me for a revision under local anesthesia. I mean, why would anyone go back to him for a revision? I don't get people like that. Are they crazy or what? If someone fails to do the job right the first time, why on earth would you hand your body over to them again? wtf?????🙄😢😠

Man, I am seriously, truly sorry about this... 😢 Dr. Glušac is out here claiming that those burrs only happen because of grinding—you know, like when you're using a file to smooth things out. But honestly? He doesn't even use that method himself. He just goes straight for the cut.
So, what’s the move now? You going for round three? Is it super obvious to everyone watching, or can you just play it cool and brush it off?

I am honestly so incredibly sorry that you ended up choosing the wrong doctor, but please try to find some comfort in knowing you aren't alone in this. If you're looking for a way to make things right, maybe reach out to Dr. Glušac and ask if he’d be willing to help fix the situation? I can only imagine how much this must be weighing on your mind. My own mistake is going to cost me dearly too, but at the end of the day, we are responsible for our own choices, and instead of sitting around drowning in guilt, we have to take action to correct them—assuming, of course, that you have the means to do so. My advice? Don't wait. I'm planning to go back to Dr. Glušac after the summer to fix my own error, as he was able to spot the previous doctor's blunder immediately, though as I mentioned before, that's a whole different conversation altogether. 😠, while Dr. Glušac is 👍, so please, everyone, think twice about whose hands you're placing your life in. 🙄

I'm with you there. It makes zero sense. 🤷 So what, you just hand him even more cash after he fails once? Wtf.

well, because why wouldn't you want to pay someone else instead.....

oh hell nooooo, there's no way he's charging for that fix....if he actually tries to charge me, there is zero chance I'm ever stepping foot in his shop again....

Cartilage tends to both swell up and grow back...
So you get constant changes in that area, not just on the nose but all over the body.
What Dr. Glušac says about bumps, lumps, and protrusions being caused by that filing process is true, but that only applies to the bone part—so basically, from the eyebrows down to the middle of the nose.
Especially since the bone doesn't really settle until the 6-12 month mark, and during that time, once the swelling goes down and everything thins out, the cartilage can start looking much more prominent.
I honestly think this isn't even about the surgeon, it's just how the body works...
I know so many people who had surgery with the exact same doctor, and for some, it looks amazing, while for others, it’s just bad.

where did you have your first surgery?
At the Dubrava Medical Center, but honestly—the real issue was the doctor who messed things up for me 😠. I originally went in for an exam because of breathing issues—specifically a deviated septum—and it was this one doctor at a private clinic who examined me and then ended up performing the surgery.
But looking back, I guess I can't even blame anyone else—it’s my own fault for not doing my homework on the guy before signing anything. If I had actually looked him up, I would've found out pretty quickly that nobody recommends him, especially when it comes to nose surgery.

Honestly, I’d rather hand my life over to a completely different surgeon just to fix the disaster that one doctor caused, rather than trust that monster with my body ever again... how much self-respect do you actually have, and are you really prepared to face the consequences if he leaves you permanently disfigured?! I'm speaking from experience here, and I'm being blunt because I refuse to let anyone else endure what my sister, 😠, went through... she underwent a lip reconstruction by John Smith and the results were absolutely horrifying, leaving her life changed forever, so we did everything we could to get her fixed up in Austria, but the last thing we ever considered was going back to him.😠

Facts... alright, everything's set. Now I'm just sitting here waiting. 🙂

okay, it’s really not that dramatic, man... the nose looks better than it did before anyway, so he didn't "disfigure" me, don't worry, hehe... I just expected there wouldn't be any stupid lumps... or rather, that they wouldn't still be there after the fix... and why did I go back to him specifically? Because he was actually the one who suggested it. He wasn't playing dumb about the lumps or pretending he couldn't see them (which, let's be real, he could have), and at the time, it felt fair. So I thought, hey, maybe he'll fix it since he admitted it. But then it got sketchy when my friend told me she’d need a revision too. And look, don't get mad, but this isn't some big thing about self-respect. 😂

So, here’s the deal: I’m dealing with a deviated septum. My nose literally points to one side, my sinuses are constantly inflamed, and I can't breathe through my left nostril to save my life. On top of all that functional mess, I actually want to get some aesthetic work done too—just clean up the look a bit. Can anyone point me toward the best place to go right now? I’m torn between Dubrava and Mercy Hospital. Thanks!🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂😕😕:confu sed:
