Jeffrey Peterson43 said:Standard X-rays can be pretty deceiving since they’re just 2D images—you get all these different tissue shadows overlapping on top of each other. That metal shadow you spotted was probably just some dental work or an implant overlapping with the base of your nose in the projection. A CT scan is basically taking those slices and using software to build a 3D model, so it's way more precise and reliable.
The CT isn't showing anything weird or scary. It looks like chronic sinusitis, which is likely just a side effect of allergies or maybe just straight-up allergies... You'll definitely want to follow up with an ENT specialist though.

Woohoo! If that's all it is—that's awesome!🥳I've got a pretty high pain tolerance, so this constant inflammation hasn't been a massive deal for me, but I'm definitely going to book an appointment with an ENT! 🙂
Thanks a million!🙂

Everything looks pretty standard in my blood work, with just a few outliers worth noting:
hematocrit: 0.346 (0.354-0.450)
MCHC: 353 (304-345) and
PV(INR): 1.05 (2.00-3.50)—this last one falls under coagulation, while those first two are just basic hematology metrics.

So, I recently found out I have E. coli in my ejaculate. My doctor put me on a four-week course of antibiotics, and even though I’ve been taking them for about ten days now, that stinging sensation just won't quit. Does anyone here know more about this? How serious is it when you find E. coli in your semen? Also, should I be drinking cranberry juice—can that actually help at all?

Could someone please break this down for me? I can make sense of the hematocrit level, but everything else is just Greek to me.

velvetjackal14 said:everything in my bloodwork looks fine except for this:
hematocrit: 0.346 (0.354-0.450)
MCHC: 353 (304-345) and
PT(INR): 1.05 (2.00-3.50)—this one is for coagulation while the first two are hematology results.

To put it simply, MCHC represents the average concentration of hemoglobin within your red blood cells.
PT refers to prothrombin time, and INR is just the shorthand for the international normalized ratio. You can dig into the specifics right here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prothrombin_time

There is really no reason to panic; these numbers are all within a reasonable range and don't show any major red flags.
Regarding that PT(INR) reading of 1.05 (2.00-3.50)—those figures in the parentheses are the target ranges typically expected for patients currently on anticoagulant therapy.

Cytology report: 1. biopsy of a 35 x 10 mm mass located in the upper third of the left thigh
2. CBC
Microscopic examination: Within well-prepared cellular smears, there is a dense, monomorphic population of medium-sized, atypical lymphatic cells, some exhibiting indented nuclei. Also present are scattered lymphocytes, occasional centrocytes and centroblasts, along with some histiocytes and pigmentophages, a few granulocytes, capillary endothelial cells, and erythrocytes.

2. CBC: SE 72, EO 3, LY 21
RBC: normocytic, normochromic
Occasional toxic granular neutrophils
Plt +++

Impression: Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
Surgical excision and histopathological verification are recommended.

PLEASE HELP! I am absolutely spiraling here!

What should I do if I can't quite remember the last time I had blood work or any regular checkups done? It’s likely been at least a decade—maybe even longer—so should I go ahead and schedule an appointment?

Hey everyone, I really need some help here. My mom’s been bouncing from doctor to doctor for over a year now. She’s done all the tests, tried every therapy under the sun, but nothing is working. I’m honestly at a loss... I don't even know who else to take her to.

First, they diagnosed her with GERD and a small hiatal hernia. She was on Nexium and Controloc, but it just took the edge off—it didn't actually fix anything. Looking back, we realized she’s probably dealt with IBS her whole life, but she never actually treated it. On top of that, she’s been getting these constant non-bacterial cystitis flare-ups, and this pain under her right ribs won't quit. Her liver has also been slightly enlarged for about twenty years. They haven't found any gallstones, but after a massive bout of biliary colic, she just quit all her meds entirely. Now she’s just taking some homeopathic stuff for her gallbladder... nobody can figure out what's actually going on. Her ultrasounds look fine, except for that slightly enlarged liver.

But man, I am freaking out because of these blood work results:
AFP 13.74
CRP 0.1
CEA 0.5
beta globulin 0.150
gama globulin 0.127
albumins: globulins 1.8
MCHC 350

Please, please let me know what this could mean. How bad are these numbers? What kind of specialists should I be looking into next? I’m seriously spiraling here. Thanks so much.

I’m looking for some insight here.
I’ve been dealing with issues in my right shoulder and arm for about six months now.
My X-ray report states the following: the X-ray of the shoulder does not show the acromioclavicular joint.
Can anyone explain what that actually means? This whole mess started about half a year ago. Last year, from around September 9th through December, I was hitting aerobic classes pretty regularly and everything felt fine. Then, out of nowhere at the start of this year, I suddenly couldn't lift my arm above my head. The pain was intense—it kept me up at night, and I could only get a little relief by taking some Advil.
The pain in my arm was particularly sharp whenever I made any sudden movements. It felt like a shooting pain traveling all the way down my upper arm.
The worst of the pain has subsided lately, but I’m still left with a significant loss of range of motion. I’m 34, working full-time, and honestly, this is making it impossible to function normally.
Best regards. Thanks so much to anyone who can offer some help or an explanation.

Perhaps if you have the budget, you could look into a private rehab center—I'm thinking of the one run by Lorraine, where that famous specialist works with all the pro athletes. I can't quite recall his name right now, though—it's on the tip of my tongue—but he's quite well-known. A friend of mine actually went there for some spinal issues, and he was a lifesaver.

Hello,
I could use some advice.
About a week ago, my knees felt slightly swollen and warm to the touch, and I had this intermittent itching all over my body, though there was no visible redness. The swelling went down after a few days, but the itching hasn't stopped. My doctor ordered blood work and a urinalysis. My iron is at 6, and my hemoglobin, hematocrit, MCV, MCH, and MCHC are all below the normal range. It looks like anemia. My urine came back clean with no bacteria. Everything else from the biochemistry lab looked fine, except for my IgE levels, which are at 799 (the normal limit is 100). My skin still itches constantly, especially when pressure is applied. My doctor prescribed iron supplements and some stomach medication, and today, after seeing the results, she added Aerius tablets.
I assume those are to help with the itching. However, I'm wondering how to actually lower that IgE level and get rid of this itch. We're heading to the coast in two days, and I really don't want my vacation to be spent scratching and feeling restless.
I've never had any allergies before, and I can't figure out what might be triggering this reaction.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Best,

I guess we’re starting things off with just a single chili pepper? Not much to go on there, I suppose. Maybe you're just testing the waters, or maybe you're actually looking for something specific. Either way, if you've got more to add, I'm listening. kaže:
Hey there,
I could probably use some advice here. If anyone has any thoughts or pointers, I’m all ears.

So, what kind of diagnosis did you end up getting? And you’re telling me all of this is actually stemming from anemia? I guess that might explain things, but man, that's a lot to deal with.

Look, basically, everything she’s going through is a direct result of the anemia—especially if it hasn't been treated properly. Throw in a massive amount of stress on top of that, plus whatever else... I mean, let's be real, who isn't stressed out these days? Or maybe she just went through some kind of shock. We still need to see those immunoglobulin results and whatever other tests are pending to know for sure.
The same thing happened to me.
Just because she wasn't allergic to anything a while ago doesn't mean she won't be now.

I just had some urine tests done. Everything came back fine, with one exception: there was glucose present. I brought it up with my doctor, and he brushed it off, telling me it wasn't anything to lose sleep over since all my other markers look normal. He did suggest I get my blood sugar checked, though. Has anyone here dealt with this before? Is this something that requires immediate, urgent attention, or can it actually wait? Honestly, my schedule is such a mess right now that I’m simply not in a position to run out for more tests immediately.

Best regards,

Go get allergy testing done; you're clearly reacting to something.

Finding glucose in your urine is not okay. Period.
