Can someone help me make sense of these lab results? I just ordered them from my doctor and should have the official word in a few days.

Coagulation Panel
PT (Time) - 11.5
INR - 0.93
% - 114.9

There’s also one part I’m having a hard time reading—it looks like maybe VU: 0.060 | 45 (or maybe 4S, I can't quite tell) (range: 0.06 - 0.180)

Thanks.

I can't edit my post anymore, but I just wanted to let you all know that I managed to snag an appointment with the doctor—everything is looking good, so there's really no need to reply to this message.

What exactly counts as a normal body temperature?
There are times, particularly when the evening rolls around, where my temperature sits right around 96.8°F, and I’ve even seen it dip a bit lower than that before.
On the flip side, for several years now, I’ve dealt with periods where my temperature stays slightly elevated—around 99°F—for anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks at a time.
During those stretches, I definitely don't feel my best, yet doctors have never been able to pin down a specific underlying cause.
Has anyone else here gone through something similar?

I find myself waking up with night sweats from time to time, though I haven't been able to pinpoint any specific pattern or cause behind them yet.

Please, I urgently need some help here!!!

Our baby was born this morning, weighing about 7.4 pounds. He arrived via C-section eight days earlier than expected. Here’s the thing: he cried right when he came out, but after that, he just stopped. Instead of crying, he’s been spending the whole day just... moaning. Or, if I'm going by how they described it, just making this "unsettled" little groaning sound. About ten hours after the birth, they put him in an incubator because his temperature dropped—his hands and feet were freezing to the touch. Now everyone back home is freaking out, and honestly, I can't blame them because every doctor we talk to seems to have a different take on it.
Once the doctor noticed he was running cold, they ran some blood work, and his white blood cell count came back high.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has dealt with something similar with a newborn? Does anyone actually know what might be going on, if this is dangerous, or if we really have a legitimate reason to be panicking right now?

Helou🙂...

Does anyone happen to know what this specific spinal X-ray result actually means?

"I.V. space is narrowed in the L5 - S1 segment"

Thanks in advance😍

Kimberly Wood72, I don't have much experience with this specific situation, but I honestly don't think there is any reason to panic.
If a baby's white blood cell count is elevated, it usually just indicates some kind of inflammation, so those little discontented moans aren't really surprising.
The fact that the baby feels a bit chilly isn't particularly worrying either, since babies can lose heat quite easily given that their little bodies haven't fully mastered temperature regulation yet.
I remember when I had my own baby and she let out one of those short, sharp cries, and I found myself wondering what could possibly be wrong, only to find out everything was perfectly fine!
It slips my mind sometimes, but infections in newborns are actually quite common. In many ways, it’s actually a good thing that these symptoms surface while the baby is still under hospital supervision, because they can get medical attention immediately without the parents having to stress over whether to call a doctor or rush to the ER.
I am quite certain that everything is going to turn out just fine for the little one, but please do offer some comfort to the mother, as her hormones are likely flying high right now and it definitely makes these moments feel much more intense!

Sometimes (especially once evening hits) my temperature hits around 97°, and honestly, I've even seen it dip below that.
On the other hand, I’ve been dealing with this thing where my temperature stays slightly elevated—like 99 degrees—for days or even weeks on end. It’s been happening to me for years now.
I feel like crap lately, but honestly, nobody’s been able to pin down what's actually causing it.
Anyone else dealt with something like this?

Look, it’s just basic biology—every woman sees that slight temperature bump during the second half of her cycle, somewhere between ovulation and her period, usually hovering around 98.6 to 99.3 degrees.🤷

My temperature is always hovering around 98.6, and I've got Hepatitis C, though I can't tell if there's actually a connection there. I never even felt sick; I just stumbled upon the virus during a routine checkup. My ultrasounds and all my liver panels come back totally normal... but the virus is still hanging around.

Thanks for getting back to me, but I actually haven't had a period in several years now. Plus, those elevated temperatures used to linger for a couple of weeks at a time.
Here is a recent example of what I've been experiencing. Last night my temperature dropped down to just slightly below 97°, but today throughout the day—and I could really feel it—I was hovering around 98.6° to 99°. I realize that for some people that might just be their baseline, but I don't think that's the case for me because I can truly feel that feverish sensation.

Here’s the latest: last night my temp dropped slightly below 97°, but today (I could definitely feel it) I was hovering around 98.6° to 99°. I know some people consider that totally normal, but I'm telling you, it doesn't feel normal for me because I can actually feel the heat.

Are there any swollen lymph nodes in your neck or anywhere else? Any lumps?

It’s a common symptom of TB. You should probably get some blood work done at least.

I’ve been dealing with some thyroid issues lately, though I am keeping a close eye on everything and my hormone levels have stayed within the normal range for the time being. I don't think there is any reason to worry about tuberculosis either, since I had a persistent cough last year and went in for chest X-rays, and everything came back perfectly fine.

Understood.
Female, 25 years old.

Blood and urine lab results.

Coagulation panel
INR - 1.00 (target range 2.0-3.5)
I have been on oral contraceptives for several years. Could this be related?🤷
Liver enzymes are within normal limits.
AST-18, alt-24, GGT-30

Next.
Urinalysis.
Ketones - 10 (should be < 0.5)

Microscopic sediment analysis
Erythrocytes 1-3
Leukocytes 7-9

Metabolites and substrates
Glucose - 4.00 (range 4.20-6.00)

Trace elements
s-UIBC - 62 (range 26-59)

Triglycerides are also elevated at 1.8; the limit is 1.7.
I assume this is insignificant.

Seeking an opinion on these findings.
Thank you.🙏

Patrick Brown3, I should start by saying I’m certainly no medical expert, but those elevated ketone levels are definitely something worth looking into.
When you combine that with high glucose, it often suggests the body is tapping into fat stores because there aren't enough carbohydrates available or it simply can't process them properly. I actually followed the Atkinson diet once, and you see a very similar pattern there, though in that case, it's completely intentional since you're aiming for a state of ketosis. If your eating habits have been totally normal lately, however, this might point toward an issue with how your body handles carbs, perhaps involving insulin production. Has anyone in your family dealt with diabetes? Also, did you happen to eat very little in the couple of days leading up to your blood work?

Sure, we could be looking at diabetes, but there are plenty of other metabolic issues on the table—hyperthyroidism is a prime example. Even some of those extreme fad diets can trigger ketonuria.

Bottom line? You really need to sit down with your primary care physician and get an appointment with an endocrinologist.

I must admit, I haven't been neglecting my nutrition.
I maintain a balanced diet, avoid overeating, and ensure variety in my food choices.
Everything is consumed, though strictly in moderation.
There is no history of diabetes in my family.

In fact, the evening before my blood work, I ate far too much cabbage stuffing; it was quite uncomfortable.🤦
I had nothing this morning. My blood was drawn at 7:00 AM, so while I was hungry, eating would have been premature.

However, my blood sugar levels came back low, yet the glucose in my urine was high.
The implications of this are unclear to me.
Is diabetes characterized by elevated or low blood sugar?

But my blood sugar came back low, while my urine sugar was high.
I honestly have no idea what that's supposed to mean.
Is diabetes defined by high blood sugar or low blood sugar?

You're going to need to go back for more internal medicine tests, because right now we're just guessing. It doesn't necessarily mean you have diabetes. It could be an issue with your kidneys or liver, but first, you have to rule out metabolic disorders—like diabetes or thyroid issues—and check for potential pregnancy.
