Exactly!! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
In that case, you should definitely check out Dulc Liquido... they specialize in what's known as power noise, or just straight-up noise. Some truly incredible stuff has come out of their hands...

By the way, has anyone here actually heard of Sonic Mayhem? I could use some insight on them. I know they composed the soundtrack for Quake 3β€”which, if you're into Unreal Tournament, is an absolute essential from the turn of the millenniumβ€”but beyond that, I'm pretty much in the dark... They blend metal with dark electro... it's excellent work, mostly instrumental...

I went to one of their shows once. They sound much more metal when they're performing live, even though I had an absolute blast at the concert itself. If it hadn't been for this annoying incident with my camera, the whole night would have been perfect, but instead, I just ended up feeling pretty bummed out about the whole situation.😳
Everyone seemed to be obsessed with AP, but we unfortunately showed up a little too late to catch them properly.😬

HehπŸ™‚...I wasn't able to upload any photos myself, if that makes things easier for you😁.

With my old Sony Ericsson, unless it was high noon and bright as day, you could pretty much forget about getting a decent shot.😁
By the way, that guy with the 30cm mohawk is impossible to forget.

As for the drummer, there's really nothing left to sayβ€”the man is a legend!

Susan Nguyen85 said:Well, it really depends on which band you're talking about... Hocico, for instance, mostly deals with issues surrounding Mexicoβ€”you know, social, religious, and political climatesβ€”whereas suicid Commando leans into those brutal lyrical themes, like serial killers or anti-religious sentiments. Then you have other groups that tackle society at large, while some others just stick to those mindless, clichΓ© "666" type lyrics. It varies, really.

Hold on a second, are we actually discussing bands here or DJs? Because when I brought up 666 and
D-devils, my mind was strictly on electronic music, specifically stuff like:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNlAOC7gXO8

So, is this thread intended to cover this kind of thing, or are we moving in a completely different direction??

Mmmm πŸ™‚ I honestly think this is one of the greatest things ever released in that genre, especially because the beat is absolutely infectious and the lyrics really hit home. To me, Memorias Atras feels like a completely fresh take on the Hocico sound, and even though most of their other albums have that raw, gritty production, this more synthetic vibe is easily one of my all-time favorites.

This track is an absolute banger:

I’ve listened to plenty of lo-fi, scattered albums, so it’s hard to pick a single "best" one, but I definitely ended up making my own custom compilation from their discography. What a fantastic band.
And don't even get me started on the compressor:

Well, I suppose it isn't entirely without merit, though I find myself thinking it would be significantly improved if one could simply enjoy the music without all that incessant screeching in the background... does anyone happen to know if there are any tracks available where the music stands alone without those shrieks, or perhaps where the vocals aren't quite so abrasive 😁, provided they aren't just screaming πŸ™„

Kevin Wilson9 said:hm, it’s not bad, though if you could just strip away all that screaming in the background, it would actually be great... does anyone know if there are a few tracks where it's just music, or at least where the vocals aren't so intense 😁, just without all the yelling πŸ™„

That "yelling" is technically called scream vocals πŸ™‚

You have Zomie Girl handling the melodic female vocals, and then there's Rabia Sord, who sings on some tracks but leans toward the scream style on others, though true screaming is pretty rare from them
There are likely more artists out there, but those two are the ones I can pull from my own collection

It seems everyone has lost their cool here, though there is already an appropriately placed topic covering this

Honestly, it might be high time we retire the word "noise" from our musical vocabulary altogether, don't you think?

I'm going to go give these a listen and see if they actually hit the spot for me 😁... thanks!!

I just caught up on this... I won't get into their looks (even though if you ask me, they look like they were practically born for this genre, especially early on)...

And regarding the claim that they're stupid... have you actually bothered to read any of their lyrics?...

it's pretty clear.

Trust me, if the moderators actually understood anything about electronic genres, they would have shut this whole thing down ages ago; they tend to be quite strict. 😬
All of this falls under that darker industrial umbrella, which was already being recommended heavily in the other thread. I don't really see the point of having a dedicated recommendation topic here πŸ˜•

To be fair, Hocico aren't exactly the brightest lights in the room, though there are plenty of others who are just as dim. I might have been a bit too hasty with that one. 😳
