Which state are you currently in, where are you originally from, and do you have Medicare coverage?

I see this thread is picking up steam, so I figured I’d drop in here too...

Does anyone else deal with absolutely brutal PMS? Like, debilitating levels? I'm wondering if this is all just one massive hormonal imbalance—has anyone actually talked to their OB-GYN about it, and what was the verdict? It feels like things have just spiraled since I got older. Sometimes it hits me a week before my period, sometimes two... nausea, acne (which won't budge until my cycle starts), getting sick at the smell of food, weakness, cramps, headaches, even itching all over. I get these hot and cold sweats, and suddenly my clothes and blankets feel like they're pricking my skin... not to mention the mental toll. I become such a wreck during this time that I end up isolating myself from everyone. My relationships can't even survive because my anxiety attacks are so bad during my cycle, plus I've already been diagnosed with depression. I’m planning to see a specialist, but honestly, I’m terrified they won't take me seriously or bother running a full hormone panel.😢

Is it actually normal for my period to drag on for seven whole days? Like, the first couple of days were barely anything, then it picked up a bit, and now it’s day seven and I’m still seeing some spotting... Honestly, I even went swimming today because there was no way I was missing out :-P .. I just can't help wondering if I should be freaking out about this a little bit

Everything seems to be going according to plan. Especially considering there was hardly anything happening during those first few days.

It feels like this is just dragging on forever, I don't even know... usually it’s only about five days for me, so it doesn't seem normal at all having this gross stuff still going on days after everything should have finished... sorry... TMI...

Sounds pretty normal to me. I get some brownish spotting for a few days afterward too...🤷

I’ve been on birth control for years and my cycle has always been clockwork, but this month everything just went haywire. I had my period, then nothing for about a week and a half, and then it started back up again—basically twice in one month. Now, it was supposed to arrive again, but it only lasted a single day. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened to me. Just to be clear, I'm not pregnant, so we can rule that out immediately.
Is it normal to have a period mid-cycle?
Some people on the pill get spotting, but this was a full seven-day period. The whole thing has just left me really confused...

Try drinking some chamomile tea if your cycle gets out of whack.

I’m hoping someone here can actually help me out because I am honestly spiraling right now and feeling incredibly anxious... So, here's the deal: I have clear ovaries but also PCOS—sorry if those aren't the same thing, I really don't know the medical specifics—and my periods are a complete mess. During my last checkup, my OBGYN prescribed Yaz birth control and told me to take the first pill on the very first day of my period. Well, my period started nine days ago, so I took the first pill immediately. At first, everything seemed fine; there was barely any flow and zero pain. But then, about three days ago, the pain suddenly kicked in down there, and I started bleeding like crazy—just a massive amount. And the bleeding hasn't stopped. Sometimes I get these intense, stabbing pains that are just brutal. Look, I’ll be the first to admit I’m a total hypochondriac, so please, I urgently need some advice or insight 🙂

Look, I’ll be the first to admit I’m a total hypochondriac, even if it’s embarrassing to say out loud... But honestly, those pains could just be standard monthly stuff, though the fact that your bleeding is getting heavier this month is definitely a red flag. You really ought to get yourself to an OB-GYN ASAP because there's a chance you might have some ovarian cysts that ruptured or something... Whatever you do, stay away from aspirin because that's just going to make the bleeding way worse. If you can't make it into the clinic right now, just give them a call on your cell and ask... Good luck, seriously.

While breakthrough bleeding can be a side effect of these pills, I have to say—it feels like you’re bleeding quite a bit more than usual 🤷
as > mentioned to you earlier. Honestly? You should probably see a gynecologist as soon as possible—or at least give them a call to get their take.

I gave her a call yesterday, but she was swamped and didn't really give me any helpful answers. To make matters worse, I ended up throwing up at the end of the day—honestly, I'm not even sure if there's a connection there... But the thing is, it’s still happening. It just hits me out of nowhere with this intense pain and then everything starts flowing, and once the pain subsides, the flow slows down too. 🙂

Hey everyone, I noticed most of you here seem a bit more experienced than I am, so I was hoping I could pick your brains:
I have a quick question... okay, so I’m 15 (turning 16 next month), about 5'6", and weigh around 115 lbs. Yesterday, I noticed some brown discharge down there. It wasn't a huge amount, maybe just enough to fill a small container, so I popped in a pad just to be safe. It didn't show up again overnight or even through the day today. Can anyone tell me what might be going on? I've been spiraling through Google searches and now I'm just totally confused. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any help would be appreciated!!

So, I’ve got a bit of a situation with my period,
it’s been dragging on for about ten days now and I’m starting to get a little worried,
normally they only last five or six days, but I figured I was done with them so I headed down to the coast for a trip. After two days of being at the beach, the bleeding picked up again on the third day, and now I've been dealing with this extra three or four days on top of it. I'm wondering if the heat or just being out by the ocean caused this extension, or if there might be something else going on,
if anyone has any insight, I'd really appreciate it. 🙂

If you have a fibroid, there's a chance it could be bleeding. You need to get yourself to an emergency gynecological clinic right away to find out what's actually going on.

What's wrong with women having that after they turn 35? I'm only 19 right now.🤷

Usually, this happens later in life, though there are outliers where younger women experience it too. But if you're seeing this at your age, something else is likely going on. It sounds like your hormones might be completely out of whack. Have you had any unprotected sex recently? It’s a known thing that women can experience a miscarriage without even realizing they were pregnant, often just thinking it's an unusually heavy period.
Bottom line: if I were in your shoes, I’d get to an OB-GYN immediately to rule out any serious complications that aren't worth waiting around for.

I mean, I guess it would probably last longer for me, but honestly, that’s just my own experience, right? It really varies from person to person... some people find that once they hit the coast, things just kind of wind down for them.🤷

I’m asking because I know some people just keep swimming even when they’re pregnant, so I was wondering if that's actually a thing... I haven't made it to my OB-GYN appointment yet, and since my boyfriend and I have been intimate using protection, I'm just not sure 🤷
