Look, getting a checkup at Planned Parenthood is totally normal even if you're bleeding; it’s not like the doctor is some delicate little flower who’s going to faint at the sight of a little blood.
But seriously, how do they even perform an exam if there's a uterine rupture? And how on earth are they supposed to insert an IUD while someone is actively bleeding?

I honestly had no idea it could be considered an emergency 😲

Basically, nothing hurts and I feel totally fine, so I didn't want to cause a scene. You know how ER staff can be about "drama queens" 🕺

My last checkup at Planned Parenthood was about 10 months ago, and everything was perfectly normal. But yeah, I guess I'll just head in so I can stop worrying. Hopefully it’s nothing serious, fingers crossed

Look, I’m being selfish when it comes to my own health.
I actually ended up hitting the ER because of that spill, and honestly, there wasn't even a point in arguing about it.
They gave me some solid advice, got me on the right treatment plan, and handled everything exactly how it should be done.

Honestly, I guess it just comes down to the specific doctor, I don't know, whatever. I'll leave that to the professionals since I'm clearly not an expert here, but look—being selfish about your own health is actually a good thing. You guys are right on that. Plus, I'm personally sitting here waiting for something to happen too. And yeah, doctors aren't exactly made of glass.

Look, I’m not actually in pain—I feel perfectly fine, really—so I didn't want to cause a scene. You know how those ER doctors look at anyone who isn't actively dying; they just see "drama queens" waiting to happen. 🕺

My last checkup at Planned Parenthood was about ten months ago, and everything was totally fine back then. But whatever—I'll go just to stop myself from worrying. Hopefully, it's nothing serious.

It could be a polyp, or maybe it's just some random spotting between periods—honestly, there's no need to spiral, but it's better to get eyes on it just for your own peace of mind.
For what it's worth, my cycle tends to shift by a week or two every spring and fall. There are a hundred harmless reasons why this happens, but if this has never been an issue for you before, I'd much rather get checked out than sit around playing the waiting game.

Honestly, better to be a drama queen now than to sit around later wondering where your head was at. Like, why didn't I just get this checked sooner? etc.

So, here’s my situation. Maybe someone can offer some insight? On May 8th, I went in for a Pap test at Planned Parenthood. The provider was a bit rougher than usual, and it actually hurt quite a bit. I had some mild cramping later that evening. By the next morning, I started spotting, which lasted for about three days before stopping. Then, two days ago, it all started happening again. My period isn't due until the 23rd, and while I have all the usual PMS symptoms, this timing just doesn't make sense to me.

Go talk to a doctor. Irregular bleeding happens. Besides, there’s already a doctor in this thread who explained why you might bleed after a Pap smear.

Thanks. I'll check in with them tomorrow. I really want to know what they have to say...

No, because my test results weren't ready yet. If they aren't in, the doctor won't even see me. I'm headed back in two weeks. Hopefully, the results will be there by then.🤔

Why would he not see you? It’s about the current issue, regardless of what those labs say.

electricstag2 said:I'm starting this thread because I need some advice or shared experiences regarding early periods. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Basically, my period arrived just ten days after my last one ended. 👎

It doesn't feel like a typical cycle, either. I’m not experiencing any of the usual symptoms—no breakouts, no irritability, no cravings, no cramps, no leg weakness, no digestive issues. Even the texture is different; it lacks those usual clots.
The blood is much brighter red, too. For the first three days, the bleeding was quite light, but it picked up on the fourth and fifth days. It’s still going; today is day five.

I actually had my routine annual blood work and urinalysis done just two days ago, and everything came back normal.

Naturally, I plan to see my OB-GYN, but I have to wait for this episode to pass first. In the meantime, I'm feeling a bit anxious and hoping it isn't anything serious.

Has anyone else gone through something like this? Any idea what might be causing it?

I've been there. My cycle would run for five or six days, heavy on the first day. Then, after a short break of about a week, it would start up again for another two or three days.

I went through all the diagnostic testing, and everything checked out fine. It turned out to be tied to high stress and anxiety levels; whenever life stabilized, my cycle eventually returned to a normal rhythm.

Regardless, you should definitely see your gynecologist and get some tests done.

My period only lasts a day and a half before it turns watery, and I barely eat anything—I'm only 92 lbs at 5'4". I went to my doctor once and all he told me was to eat more.😵

Having dealt with amenorrhea caused by a low BMI and low body fat percentage for years—along with the resulting osteopenia—I’m telling you: the gynecologist is right, no matter how ridiculous it sounds to you.

If you want to keep this conversation going, just shoot me a DM.

Hey everyone. 🙂 So, I had some unprotected sex about two weeks ago, and naturally, my period is now 11 or 12 days late. I started drinking raspberry leaf tea again a couple of days ago—it’s usually great for jumpstarting my cycle since my hormones always seem to act up with it—and I’ve been having these intermittent cramps. Today, the cramping got pretty intense all of a sudden, though I honestly thought (this might sound kind of funny) it was just an upset stomach from breakfast. I ended up rushing to the bathroom, and then—boom—about ten seconds of dark, thin bleeding! I've never experienced anything like this before, so I'm feeling a little spooked. 😢 In the past, I've definitely had brownish discharge right before my period starts. Sometimes it’ll last for a day and then just vanish until my actual period shows up.
The dark bleeding has stopped for now and the cramps are gone, though my lower back is still aching. All I see now is just a little pink residue on the pad and the toilet paper. Has anyone else dealt with this? Does anyone have an idea what could cause bleeding like this? Everything I’ve read online mentions things like infections or even a miscarriage.

Hey 😁 I'm 19 and my cycle is a total mess because of PCOS. I was on Diane-35 for a while and everything was actually fine—my period would show up right on schedule like clockwork. But then I stopped taking it, and for the first month after quitting, I ended up getting my period three separate times, each lasting about four or five days. Now? It’s currently 55 days late... which is just great. I've already taken three pregnancy tests and they were all negative, so that's not it. Back in the day, whenever it used to be late, I’d drink some chasteberry tea and it would kick things into gear after a few days. I tried that again recently, but absolutely nothing is happening. I have an appointment scheduled in two weeks with my doctor at Mayo Clinic, but I was wondering if anyone else here has dealt with something similar? Is there any other way to get things moving? If possible, I'd really rather not use more pills—the more natural, the better. 🎉
Thanks in advance

Hey everyone. I’ve been taking Duphastone—two pills a day for five days straight—to try and kickstart my period, and I finished my last dose back on June 3rd. It’s been way too long and absolutely nothing has happened yet 😢
Honestly, I had laparoscopic surgery on April 24th because my fallopian tubes were blocked, so now we're officially gearing up for the whole IVF process.
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of delay? I’ve used this stuff before without any issues, so I have no idea why my body is being so stubborn this time.

Hello,

I’m curious if anyone here has experience using Femina drops? I’ve recently started taking them because my body feels like it’s in total chaos lately. In just one month, I’ve already dealt with three different bleeding episodes—which isn't ideal, given that I’m already prone to anemia. Of course, I went to see my OB-GYN, and now I’m waiting on hormone test results after having some bloodwork done. During the ultrasound, she flagged something that looked like it might be a cyst. Her warning? If this bleeding doesn't stabilize soon, I might be forced onto hormonal therapy. Honestly, I’m starting to panic at the thought. About fifteen years ago, I was prescribed Diane-3 for acne, and it absolutely wrecked me—I felt so weak that I just stopped taking it entirely. Then, about ten years back, I had a cyst and had to take Yasmin just to get the bleeding to stop; the only issue was that I couldn't even keep the first three pills down without vomiting, though everything else was somewhat tolerable. But now, reading through all the potential side effects listed for these medications... it’s overwhelming. So, here I am again, facing the possibility of needing hormones, and I've turned to these Femina drops instead. Has anyone actually tried them? What has your experience been like?

Hey there,

This might sound a little ridiculous, but I really need to ask 😁 So, look, I had sex for the first time back on July 31st, and we used a condom. My period was supposed to show up on August 18th, and it actually came then—just one day late. I even took a pregnancy test that same morning on the 18th, and it was negative. Then, my next period was due around September 17th, but it decided to show up ten days early on September 7th. Now, I was expecting it again around October 5th, but it’s still MIA, making me six days late this time. I just took another test today, and once again, it was negative. I did go see my OB-GYN, who gave me a physical exam without doing an ultrasound, and they told me everything looked fine. Is there any actual reason for me to be stressing out?
I’m not sure if a doctor can actually spot a pregnancy during a standard physical exam without using an ultrasound, though I have read somewhere that they might be able to feel if the uterus is enlarged through manual palpation.
I know how crazy this sounds, especially since I've already dealt with two periods, two negative tests, and a doctor telling me everything is totally normal after that encounter.
For context, my cycle is usually pretty consistent at about 28 to 30 days, and my period typically lasts 3 or 4 days with normal flow; it rarely ever fluctuates by more than a couple of days.
I'd love to hear what you guys think. Thanks. :*
