Can anyone tell me how long it usually takes for my period to come back after an abortion? Is it typically around 28 to 30 days? I would really appreciate it if someone could give me an answer. 😕

Well, after giving birth, you've got about 40 days...

I figure it should be roughly the same timeline following an Inc.

Yeah, it usually shows up a bit later—my doctor actually mentioned it'll probably be somewhere around the 40-day mark.

Also, you definitely want to schedule a follow-up with your OB-GYN about two weeks after the Inc.! Or just get in there as soon as possible—I’m assuming everything went fine, but it's better to have a professional confirm that for you...

Quick question
2 days ago (the 21st), I thought my period was starting early—just that light spotting you always get at first—since I wasn't due until tomorrow, so I figured a day ahead wasn't a big deal. But then yesterday morning nothing happened, and today's the same.
I doubt it's anything serious, just wondering if anyone's dealt with this before so I have an idea of when it might actually show up 😕 because I don't want to be caught off guard without protection 😁

Are you on birth control?
Give us more details.
Is there a chance you could be pregnant?

I'm not.
Things got a little heated with my boyfriend... but nothing actually happened (if you know what I mean)
My period's never been super regular anyway, so a late one wouldn't really bother me, but I had this tiny bit of spotting on the 21st at night and then absolutely nothing yesterday morning, which felt weird...

I’m sure someone has asked this a thousand times already, but I just can’t seem to find a straight answer anywhere... basically, about 2 or 3 years ago, I was diagnosed with PCOS, and since then, it's just been one hormone therapy after another. Right now, I’ve been on birth control for quite a while, but that’s not even what I’m worried about today... what I actually want to know is how I can shift my period so it doesn't ruin things. I need to time it perfectly so I don't deal with it right when I head out on vacation to Florida. Should I stop taking them 7 days early, or is it better to extend the cycle like some people suggest? Personally, the idea of stopping early sounds more appealing to me... if anyone could give me some real advice, it would mean the world. Also, am I going to mess up my actual treatment plan if I try to move things around like this?
please help me

You’re going to throw everything out of whack. I suspect the cycle won't actually shorten; if anything, it’ll probably just end up getting longer.

I’m praying my period actually shows up today. I just had a baby, so the last thing I need is another little one... at least not right now.
Since I’ve only dealt with this once since giving birth, I can’t even remember how it works😁, so does brownish discharge—not yellow, but brown—mean anything? Is my period actually on the way?

A few years back, I had discharge like this about 2 or 3 days after my period ended, but before it started🤔 I honestly don't recall🤷

So, does that mean I should just extend things by seven days, take a breather, and then get back to my regular routine once that break is over? Honestly, I’m stuck in this massive dilemma, and quite frankly, I really don't feel like dealing with my OB-GYN right now to figure it out.

One could certainly take them one at a time, I suppose. Or, if one prefers, one could simply finish the entire pack—two doses back-to-back without much of a pause. It really makes little difference in the grand scheme of things. Personally, whenever I find myself procrastinating, I tend to just knock out the whole box all at once. Of course, you will inevitably encounter those critics who will jump down your throat, claiming you have no idea what you're doing, that you don't respect your own body, or that you're essentially poisoning and shocking your system, blah blah blah.

After seven years of being on birth control, I feel I've developed a somewhat reasonable understanding of how these things actually work...

So, I just got off the phone with my doctor, and she was pretty adamant about not changing anything. She told me straight up: don't mess with the schedule. Don't push the appointment back. Once you throw the rhythm off, you can't just snap back to normal—especially since I’m strictly on these meds to keep the therapy on track...🙏🙏I honestly don't know what to do with myself... maybe it's better to just tough it out for a few days. Because every time I think about the fallout if I don't get these pills on time, I actually feel sick to my stomach. Thanks for the input, though. 🤷

Once you've finished an abortion, you really ought to schedule a follow-up with your OB-GYN after about two weeks.
It’s vital to ensure everything is healing properly.
At that appointment, you can ask your doctor if this upcoming cycle might be delayed—it all depends on follicle development. If they aren't mature yet, your period might take longer to arrive; if they are, you'll likely see it soon.

Best,

She said once you disrupt the cycle, it can be impossible to get back to normal, especially since I’m taking these pills strictly for therapy purposes...🙏🙏 I honestly don't know what to do. Maybe it's better to just push through for a few days. Every time I think about the potential complications if I don't follow the plan, I actually start feeling nauseous. Thanks anyway for the input.🤷

What if you just used tampons while you're out on vacation?

So, my period is running about 10 days late right now...

Before I go ahead and take a pregnancy test—though honestly, I think the chances are pretty slim since we're being careful and using protection—I wanted to ask if anyone knows:
Can a viral infection actually cause your period to be delayed?

I recently caught a childhood illness, and it just hit me how much of a concern that can be, because those kinds of infections and pregnancy definitely don't mix well...😢>

Since I see some talk about abortion floating around here, I’ve got a couple of things I need to know...
1. How much time do you actually have to make a decision once you find out you're pregnant?
2. What kind of damage does it do to your wallet?

trying to get pregnant while you're on your period is basically next to impossible
the odds are incredibly low because of hormone levels and the fact that your uterine lining is shedding, which means if an egg actually gets fertilized, there's nowhere for it to implant
but honestly, your best bet is just tracking your fertile window. You can do this on your computer—just Google "fertile days" and you'll find plenty of sites, maybe even something like treasury.gov or a similar resource, where you can calculate exactly what's happening every month

Listen ladies, I personally got pregnant from unprotected sex on the second day of my period. So, think about that. My sister got pregnant the day before her period started. Bottom line: if the partner is highly fertile, you can get pregnant anytime.

So, you're about 10 weeks post-ovulation, which I guess means you're at the 12-week mark since your last period...

Regarding the costs—local anesthesia usually runs around $1,100, while general anesthesia is closer to $1,600. Oh, and if you happen to be Rh negative, you might need to factor in another $300 or so just to be safe$167...

Even a minor viral infection, like a simple common cold, can throw your entire cycle completely out of whack.
