Linda Wright31 said:I went in for my OB-GYN exam, including a Pap smear and a vaginal ultrasound. My Pap came back normal, though I’ve been dealing with some pretty intense ovarian inflammation lately, so I've been on two different antibiotics plus using vaginal suppositories—which I think I'm still finishing up. I wasn't quite sure which thread this belonged in, but this felt like the right spot. Basically, my period isn't due for another five or six days, but I started seeing this brownish discharge today—it was slightly clumpy at first, then turned a bit more yellowish-brown tonight. Plus, I have this constant aching feeling like my period is going to hit any second... what do you guys think could be going on?

Maybe it's just a reaction to those suppositories.

It’s possible. They haven't really popped up again lately. Honestly, I guess all I care about is that the doctor confirmed it was just Group 2, and that all my issues were stemming from ovarian inflammation. Now that the inflammation has cleared up, the symptoms have finally vanished too.🙂

Hey everyone

So, here’s the deal—I’ve been on birth control for about a year and a half now. I started on Yasmin, but switched over to Logest about eight or nine months ago. Even back when I was on Yasmin, I was constantly dealing with yeast infections, but lately, since switching to Logest, things have taken a turn for the worse. During the last few days of my period, I get this intense itching and a really strange discharge—it doesn't look like the typical white stuff you see with a yeast infection. Does anyone actually have a clue what might be going on?
Oh, right—I do have high-risk HPV (though my Pap smear came back clear)—maybe there’s some connection there...

I have a quick question. I’ve been under an immense amount of stress and shock lately—it's been pretty intense—and my period arrived on the 15th instead of around the 28th. Does this actually happen? Should I be worried?

I’ve always felt that stress and sudden shock can impact just about everything in our bodies, including our menstrual cycles. I can't recall exactly where I read it, but I remember coming across information suggesting that any significant physiological shift—whether you're gaining weight or losing it—can trigger these kinds of changes. It all comes down to how the body reacts to instability. Please forgive me if my reasoning is off!

Yeah, it definitely happens. It’s actually happened to me twice before—having two periods in a single month.

Lots of questions being asked here, but even fewer answers: I’ve got some questions too. My period has been regular up until now, but I’ve been trying to get pregnant and everything is just going sideways. I haven't seen a positive test in months, yet I'm starting to put on weight. Anyone want to help me solve this little mystery?

I’ve been trying to get pregnant, but everything seems to be going sideways. I haven't seen a positive test in months, and instead of getting that "pregnancy glow," I feel like I'm just putting on weight! Is there anyone out there who can help me solve this mystery?

Go see an OB-GYN.

I stopped taking my birth control after a year and a half, and now I’m just waiting for my period to show up. It’s been 33 days and still nothing. I realize there’s a huge chance it might be late since my body hasn't fully adjusted yet, but honestly, I've been feeling all the symptoms for about a week and a half now... it feels like it could happen any second, but then nothing happens. Should I go ahead and take a pregnancy test, or would it be better to wait a few more days?

I don't know what your cycle was typically like before you started on the pill, but having it run a little late after stopping is pretty standard. Personally, mine usually doesn't show up until somewhere between day 30 and 35.

Before I started the pill, it used to be exactly every 28 days, always right on schedule

Yeah, that’s probably just the side effects kicking in after taking the pill... just hang tight for a few days and wait for the test results to come back.

I went through the exact same thing! 🙂
About 10 days before it actually arrived, I was feeling every single symptom like it was right around the corner. Every single time.
And then, finally, it showed up on day 34.

I have a question. I'm 30, and up until now, my cycle has always been perfectly regular. About eight days ago, right during my ovulation window, I started experiencing some light spotting. It fluctuated between brown and red, but it was constant. I was dealing with a bit of stress at the time, so I just assumed that was the cause. A few days before that, I had a pretty intense headache, though I'm not sure if there's any connection there. However, three days ago, the bleeding became heavy and included clots, which is something I deal with regularly. My lower abdomen is hurting, and I have this strange, feverish sensation down there. I also feel like it might be messing with my digestion. I'm planning to see my OB-GYN tomorrow, but I wanted to ask if anyone here has gone through something similar?

My last checkup was six months ago at my clinic, and everything was fine—no cysts or anything, just a minor yeast infection. I'm not currently in a relationship, so I can rule out any physical injury.

Totally normal. I only took them for 4 months but mine was late by a few days too once I quit. My cycle (both before Yasmin and now) is usually between 30-35 days, so I wasn't even worried...

Hi everyone..

I am currently taking Yasmin 5 months. My period is expected to arrive this coming Friday, but my sister is getting married on Saturday, and since the second day is always my absolute worst, I would love to push my cycle back by about three days. Is this actually feasible? I have read accounts of people shifting their periods by an entire week, and a three-day delay would be much more convenient for me, especially as it would also shift my monthly cycle timing.

On a separate note, a friend of mine who has done this—and had consulted her own gynecologist, as I can't reach mine right now while they are away on vacation—suggested that I simply take the entire pack without a break. How much more taxing is that on the body compared to just delaying it for a few days, and does it compromise contraceptive effectiveness at all? Thank you in advance.

P.S. I realize everyone reacts differently, but has anyone experienced any side effects?

Quick question about ovulation—does anyone know how many days after ovulation my period usually shows up? Is there a standard window? I think I read somewhere it’s typically around 14 to 17 days...
Probably a silly question since nothing is set in stone, but isn't there supposed to be a predictable timeframe?
Asking because my ovulation was pretty late this month. Since my cycle is usually super consistent, I'm hoping it'll push my period back next month too, because I've got some travel plans coming up, but 🤷

Is that even possible? I've read that people usually shift it by an entire week, but delaying it just a few days would actually work better for me because it would also shift my cycle dates moving forward.

The other thing is, a friend of mine who did this—and she actually consulted her OBGYN, since I can't get hold of mine right now (I think they're on vacation)—told me I should just take a whole extra pack. How much more harmful is that compared to just delaying it for a couple of days, and does it reduce the effectiveness of the birth control at all? Thanks so much in advance.

P.S. I know everyone reacts differently, but has anyone experienced any side effects?

You can certainly take a full extra pack immediately after finishing your current one, which ensures your protection remains just as effective. However, you should be aware that there is a possibility of breakthrough bleeding while you're taking the pills from that second pack; that's essentially the main side effect to watch out for.

Greetings!!! I have a question and am desperately seeking answers???? I’ve been taking Reductil 15 mg to try and drop a few pounds before the holidays, but I’ve run into a bit of a snag... 😳My period was absent this month. I already took an at-home pregnancy test and it came back negative, so I'm not pregnant. My doctor is currently away on vacation, so I can't get an appointment right away, but I did read on a forum that this might be a known side effect.... Does anyone know more about this specific issue.... help. I am quite worried.... what is the worst-case scenario here?????
