I'm expecting my period in the next few days, but about a week ago, I started feeling pain in my right ovary. Some days it's intense, and other days it's just a dull sensation. I've also been feeling a bit of discomfort on the left side, though there isn't any actual pain there. Should I be panicking about this? 😁 I also thought I saw a tiny trace of blood, which made me wonder if it was just spotting, but I don't think that's it. On top of that, I've been running a fever—well, it's been going on for a little while now, so I suspect something else might be causing that. What should I do? Can I wait until after my cycle to see a gynecologist, or should I go in sooner?

I’m not even bothering with a pregnancy test because I already know it’s not happening; my period is a month late now, but I’ve reached that stage of calm where I just accept it'll show up whenever it feels like it. 🙂I went to see my OB-GYN last month and everything checked out perfectly fine...
I had some minor spotting one day, but that was the extent of it—my ovaries gave me a bit of trouble for a moment and then settled down, so now I'm just sitting in the waiting room of life. Don't let the anxiety get to you, because stressing over it is just a guaranteed way to push your cycle back even further.

Sarah Jones70 said:Mine is already 23 days late... I've been hitting the gym pretty hard over the last month and a half and maybe cutting back on calories too, so I wonder if that's playing a role. I have no idea... I'm just hoping it shows up soon because I'm starting to lose my mind a little bit here.

I'm right there with you—mine is late too, and honestly, I'm feeling a little crazy. Over the last three months, I've been under an incredible amount of stress, staying active at the gym, and not eating much. I know I'm not pregnant, and while I've wondered if it might be perimenopause, I actually had a full ultrasound checkup just five months ago. I'm leaning towards thinking it's just pure stress, but who knows...

The PDF is corrupted; you should check the women's health section. However, if I were to answer this here: it isn't possible during actual menstruation, though it is certainly possible to conceive from intercourse during your period.
This is especially true if cycles are short and ovulation occurs earlier than expected.
Essentially, sperm can survive inside the body for about 3 to 5 days. So, if you happen to have sex on day 5 of your cycle (during your period), and the sperm survives for four days, you might ovulate by day 9... at which point there is a legitimate chance of pregnancy.

I am honestly getting nauseous dealing with this impossible cycle... first, I’m five days late (and the discharge was weird for almost eight days straight😲)... then I get one day of heavy bleeding followed by three days of just barely anything... and now, it’s only day 18 since that light spotting started the day before yesterday, but it looks like my period is coming back early, which means everything is happening on a 21-day loop😲... okay, so on average, we’re hovering somewhere around day 28😁
P.s. I haven't made it to the OBGYN yet because life has been crazy, and now my period has "surprised" me again by showing up way too early...
Like someone once said... I guess this is just perimenopause kicking in🙄😲😠

Drew Nguyen said:HELP !!!! My period is like two months late... 🤷 So, I took those pregnancy tests and... yeah, negative. Total bummer. Honestly, my cycle is all over the place anyway, so I kind of just procrastinated for the first month or so... then I finally got around to calling my OBGYN, but turns out he’s away on vacation right now. Tried reaching him last week too, but no luck... and now I've got an appointment scheduled, but it's not for another two weeks. Just waiting around now... 😕
So... why might she be running late? Honestly, there could be a million things... like traffic being a total nightmare on the I-95 or maybe just some random delay at the airport... life happens, right? There's also the whole thing where people just lose track of time or get caught up in something unexpected... you know how it is... anyway, what can you even do to speed things up? Not much really, unless you want to start calling every five minutes, which is probably a bad idea... maybe just stay chill and wait it out... it'll happen when it happens...
Thanks!

If there's some kind of inflammation going on, it might be why you're running late... though honestly, it could totally be linked to your hormones, like your thyroid levels or whatever. I've been dealing with thyroid issues for three years now, and whenever my hormone levels start acting up, my period either shows up way too early or just stays MIA... Stress can definitely throw things off too. About six months ago, I was about ten days late and I completely spiraled thinking I was pregnant. I actually went out and took a test, and once I saw it was just a false alarm, all that stress left my body and my period showed up the very next day... Don't sweat it too much, stuff like this happens all the time and usually isn't anything serious...

Cramps???
What are you guys doing to deal with period pains????
Back when I was in college, I used to lose my mind..
It hurts so bad I can barely walk, and even just sitting down makes me feel like I need more air, like I’ve been running a marathon or something
I’ve tried a few different pills, but I really hate taking them, so I also tried ginger tea..
nothing seems to work....
HELP !!!!

Man, my periods are usually brutal, so I can't really get through them without meds. One time my aunt visiting from Germany brought me these specific pills meant just for cramps, but they did absolutely nothing for me... way too weak. Honestly, Anacin is my go-to, though if the pain gets really intense, I end up needing 3 or 4 in a 24-hour window👎 I've tried all the teas, using heating pads, even those hot water bottles... but nothing really cuts it without the actual pills, unfortunately😢

So, some doctors suggest birth control pills to help with period cramps, and honestly, they actually worked for my pain... but then things got weird. My breasts started hurting like crazy, and after about three months on them, I started getting this pins and needles feeling in my toes... so yeah, I had to stop taking them entirely

Hey, I was wondering... if you have sex with a woman while she's on her period, is there still a chance she could get pregnant?

It all depends on where you are in your cycle. If we're talking about day seven, pregnancy is definitely on the table if she has shorter cycles—say, anything in the 24 to 26-day range. Usually, you don't get pregnant while on your period, but I wouldn't rule it out entirely. Some women have actually managed to conceive right during their flow.☕

And one more thing, how long does a period actually last, or basically, how many days does a woman bleed 🙂?

It varies. For me, it's about 3 days. Some women get 4 or 5, and then you have one out of every ten who deals with 7 or 8 days.☕

Hey everyone—a friend of mine is dealing with some irregular cycles lately. Her period is usually about 10 to 15 days late; sometimes it shows up right on time, but it’s pretty inconsistent—it can be off by at least a week. About 20 days ago, she went in for an ultrasound, and her doctor told her everything looked perfectly normal. Now, her period is late again by about 10 days, but when it finally happened, it only lasted a single day—and there wasn't really any blood, just this light pinkish-brown discharge. Any idea what might be going on? Should she be looking into more tests? She's 23 and hasn't had a Pap smear yet, though she does see her gynecologist regularly—usually her periods last about 5 or 6 days.😕

Hormonal imbalances, anovulatory cycles, inflammation, pregnancy... it could be any of those. Needs a checkup with a gynecologist.😉

She had her ultrasound and color Doppler about 20 days ago—and the OBGYN said everything looked fine, including the ovaries, uterus, and lining—so I wonder, could they have actually seen that back then?

She went in for her gynecological exam and still hasn't had a Pap smear?? Are you kidding me?

She was actually asking why—she mentioned having frequent inflammation, and apparently, her doctors told her not to do a Pap test while there was an active infection (like yeast, I assume). She hasn't had any issues for a few months now—specifically since she stopped using daily liners. Do you think the doctors were being unprofessional by not performing the Pap test?
