I started getting my period at 15. Everything is usually fine, but I've never experienced pain this intense or lasting this long before 😢
I'm heading to see my OB-GYN in the morning.
I've been under constant stress lately, so who knows if that's part of it.
I'll have my answers tomorrow.
Thanks 😘

That’s happened to me a few times—but honestly, that was back in puberty. Since you've been dealing with cycles for seven years now, things should have leveled out by this point.
The flow and how long it lasts can definitely be affected by your activity levels and what you're eating while it's happening—like, if you're just lying around and not eating, it usually feels lighter (though there are always exceptions for most women). But now, I'm worried it might be something more serious—like a burst cyst or something... and even if it is just stress, I still think you should look into medication—just to prevent blood loss, if nothing else.

Anyway, let us know what happens.

This is the first time I’ve dealt with a delay this significant—we’re talking a full week...
Up until now, everything has been perfectly on schedule, no issues at all. However, I had knee surgery between cycles, and it’s making me wonder if that’s the culprit. Between the local anesthesia and the cocktail of other medications, could that have thrown my cycle off balance? What are your thoughts? 🤷😕
I’m ruling out pregnancy; I'm certain that isn't the case.

So, like, everything has always been super regular for me—totally predictable, zero issues, you know?—but then life happens... I had to have knee surgery right between cycles this time around. Now I’m sitting here wondering if that could actually be the culprit for my period being late? I mean, between the local anesthesia and just a whole mountain of other meds they pumped into me... could all that stuff have totally thrown my cycle out of whack?? What do you guys think... is that even a thing? 🤷😕
I mean, I’m totally ruling out pregnancy—I am 100% sure about that part...

Look, I’m definitely no medical expert or anything—I don't have a degree or anything like that—but I did end up having surgery myself... you know, because my ovary was bleeding and all that mess... and since I was under general anesthesia, everything seemed to happen right on schedule. I honestly don't know if there's actually a connection there or what, but that's just how it went for me...

Help!
My cycle is incredibly predictable—usually exactly 28 days, right on schedule—but this month, I’ve already missed it by four days... I was supposed to start on March 25th, yet here I am, still waiting. What’s really eating at me is that there is absolutely no possibility of pregnancy; I haven't had sex, and I don't take any hormonal birth control or anything of the sort. I am genuinely spiraling because I have no idea why my period is late, and frankly, I'm starting to panic. Does anyone have any insight into what might cause a delay like this before I can get an appointment with my OB-GYN? I am truly terrified...

I deal with those clumps quite often myself... it’s nothing to worry about, just really gross.
I’m dealing with anemia right now, so maybe you should check your iron levels too.

Can anyone guess what might be going on before I head to my OB-GYN? I'm really scared.

God, stop panicking. It's only been four days.
It's probably just stress. If you keep spiraling like this over nothing, it’ll probably just stay late even longer.

It’s going to be late because I'm stressed, and if I keep spiraling over nothing, it’ll just end up being even later...

I realize I'm panicking, but this has truly never happened to me before, so I can't help but think that since I'm always on schedule, something must be wrong if I'm not now. Nothing hurts—and yes, I know that doesn't necessarily matter, but I have to say it—and I don't even have PMS symptoms right now; everything really does feel like it's just not coming...
Back in February, I had finals (so much stress!), but my cycle came right on time after that, so maybe it's just a common cold...🤷

Hey ladies!
So, I’ve been dealing with this weird brownish discharge for two days now—not too thin, not too thick. Honestly, I'm a little worried my period might be coming early since I’m not due for another two weeks, and the last time I had this exact same thing happen, my period showed up right after (and way ahead of schedule, too).
Has anyone else dealt with this? I could really use some advice!
I know the smart move is to see a doctor, but I actually have my own OBGYN back home, and since I haven't found a new one here in Chicago yet, I'm feeling a bit nervous about seeing someone new. I'd much rather just wait and head back home to see my regular doctor if I can.

If anyone has dealt with this before, please help.
I know I should probably see an OBGYN, but since I have my doctor back home, I haven't visited one here in Chicago yet and I'm feeling a little anxious about it. I'd much rather just wait until I can go back home and see my own doctor.

It could be anything, but it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. Maybe the stress you're under triggered it, which might also explain why your cycle is off, just like you thought...
Or, it could just be ovulation. I had a similar experience where I noticed brownish discharge during ovulation, and when I finally talked to my doctor, they told me it was perfectly normal for that time of the month.😉

Hey ladies!
So, here’s another one where my period is running late. 🙂 Usually, I’m pretty predictable—my cycle hits right on the 30th day (maybe a couple of days off here and there), but this year things have been... well, a mess. 🙂 Back in January, it was about 8 days late, though I figured that was just the altitude messing with me while I was hiking in the Alps. Then in February, it was 15 days late—honestly, I was convinced I was pregnant, but nope. Now, for the third month in a row, it was supposed to arrive on the 25th, which means I'm currently 5 days late. I'm not panicking; if anything, I wish I were actually pregnant... 🙂 I’m just a bit confused by some of this. The thing is, for the last five days, I've had all those classic pre-period pains and cramps, but then... nothing. Just total silence. All I'm getting is this heavy white-yellow discharge that is honestly driving me crazy, but no actual flow. Do you think I should go see my OB-GYN for a checkup? (I did my annual exam back in December). It’s not that I’m afraid to go, I just don't want to make a huge deal out of nothing if it isn't necessary.
Best, and thanks!

Well, my period finally arrived today after being exactly five days late, though don't think for a second that this makes things any easier for me... once this whole ordeal is over, I'll be heading straight to my OB-GYN to figure out exactly what caused such a delay.

Then in February, it was 15 days late (and honestly, I was totally convinced I was pregnant, no joke), and now for March, it should have arrived on the 25th, which means I'm currently 5 days late. The thing is, for all five days now, I've been feeling those pre-period aches—even getting those sharp cramps sometimes—but then day after day, nothing happens! All I get is this increased white-yellow discharge, which is really starting to get on my nerves, but no actual flow. Do you think I should head to the OBGYN for a checkup? (I did go for my annual last December). It's not that I'm scared to go, I just don't want to make a huge deal out of nothing.

You could definitely be pregnant; an increase in discharge is a common sign. However, if you start noticing signs of an infection—like itching or a weird smell—then you might be dealing with a yeast infection or, heaven forbid, bacteria. As for the delays, from what I've seen, stress is usually the main culprit. Plus, if you're really hoping to conceive, subconscious stress can actually cause your cycle to skip. Maybe try to just relax and stop overthinking both the period and the pregnancy possibility? If it doesn't show up in the next two or three days, just take a test.

Honestly, I feel like people are overreacting way too much to such minor delays, and frankly, all that unnecessary panic is just doing more harm than good to your own stress levels. It’s perfectly possible for things to run a little behind schedule... at the end of the day, we aren't machines!

Well, I've certainly tried telling myself that to stay calm, but you know how unsettling it feels when something happens for the very first time—especially when your intuition is usually spot on. Besides, I'm at an age where I have a pretty clear understanding of my own body and how my cycle works, so this really threw me for a loop, particularly since I didn't even have any PMS symptoms beforehand...

It’s going to be okay. Honestly, the worst thing you can do right now is let yourself spiral into anxiety or get worked up, because stress will only make everything feel ten times worse.
Just take things one step at a time... and honestly, your best bet is to just call your doctor and get checked out.

So, my period showed up a full four days early this month! It’s super weird because I’ve been on birth control for years now and my cycle is usually incredibly predictable, almost down to the day. 🤷

Does anyone have any clue what might be causing this?

My period is incredibly light, but every time I go to my OB-GYN, they tell me everything looks perfectly normal. So, who's the crazy one here? It lasts maybe two days, maybe two and a half, and then it's over.🤷 I guess I should just consider myself lucky, 😁 especially when I hear about women bleeding for seven or eight days straight, and in heavy flows at that.🙄 Meanwhile, I'm done in no time using just standard pads.😲🤷

Hey, it happened to me once while I was on the pill, but I was dealing with insane amounts of stress and traveling at the same time.

But that was just a one-time thing—everything went back to normal after that.

My cycle came a little early this month. Last time was March 13th, but this one showed up on April 6th. Honestly, it’s probably nothing—just some travel stress and life getting in the way.😁😉
