I’m at my wit's end, so here I am, venting to you guys again...
Here’s the deal: my period is 12 days late! I’m losing my mind... Usually, my cycle is super predictable; everything shows up right on schedule, almost exactly a month apart. But now, for three months straight, things have been MIA. That first month, I was pretty sketched out because my boyfriend and I were being reckless and playing around without condoms, but then my period actually showed up ten days late right on my birthday... Then last month—well, this current month—it was late by 14 days and I totally spiraled, even though I was positive we played it safe (we use condoms!) and took a test (negative), only for it to show up that very same afternoon.
That night (the first day of my period last month), we did it without protection... he pulled out before he finished. And for the next two days: every single time, he pulled out in time and I just finished things myself. After that, he headed off to Washington, D.C. for three weeks... which, coincidentally, was exactly during my fertile window when he wasn't around. Since he got back, we’ve had sex four times, always with a condom, and the condoms were always fine. Oh, might be worth mentioning: even when we use a condom, I don't let him finish inside me; he pulls out beforehand just to be extra safe.

Now I honestly have no clue what to do! About a week ago, I went in for some blood work and a urine test—just my usual preventive checkup I do every six months—and everything came back perfect. My gynecologist canceled our appointment three weeks ago because she was taking her annual vacation (seriously, thanks Doc, you're the best!)... I seriously need to find a new doctor ASAP!

I'm going crazy! Life has been incredibly stressful lately, and this whole period situation is just adding to the chaos!!! Is there any chance I'm pregnant? Honestly, I don't even want to believe it. Oh, and just as an aside: my sister has irregular cycles too, and we both have PCOS. She manages it with birth control pills, but I can't touch anything hormonal because of my medical history (I was actually hospitalized at Mayo Clinic for a while due to hormone imbalances, so I have to avoid anything with heavy hormones)...

She manages it with birth control pills, but I can't touch anything with hormones because of my medical history (I was actually hospitalized at Mayo Clinic for a while dealing with some hormonal issues, so now I have to stay away from anything with heavy hormones)...

And maybe the answer isn't hidden in the bold text? At least part of the blame lies with the delay itself, right? Stress usually messes with your period. For instance, my mom gets hers early when she's stressed—sometimes her cycle is only 23 days—but for me, back when things were natural, stress would usually stretch my cycle out to 35 or 40 days.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone might be able to offer some insight or help... my period has been acting really strange for the last three months. Usually, it’s incredibly punctual—on the dot every single time—but this month it was seven days late. Right before it finally arrived, I had about two days of light brown spotting. After that, there was one day of nothing at all, and then my period started. The thing is, it hasn't stopped; it's been going on for ten days now. Has anyone else dealt with something similar, or does anyone have an idea why it won't let up? I'm heading to see my doctor next week to get checked out. Thanks so much!

Alright ladies, I’m looking for some input here.
It’s been two months now. Since September 11th, there hasn't been any sexual activity.😁 My last encounter was back on August 1st; I've had two regular cycles since then, so pregnancy isn't an issue—especially since we use condoms religiously. I went to my OB-GYN last week for a Pap smear and an ultrasound. She found some tiny cysts on my right ovary, but nothing worth worrying about. She confirmed that a corpus luteum has formed, meaning I definitely ovulated, even though my period is significantly late.🙂
I asked about starting birth control. Given that my blood work and Pap smear came back clean, she prescribed BlackRock, which I’m supposed to start once my period arrives.
The problem is, it still hasn't shown up. I feel like it's coming, but nothing happens. Maybe I already passed it without noticing.🤣
She told me my period would arrive on its own within about ten days without needing any hormonal pills to jumpstart it (even though I specifically asked for one just so I could get started on the BlackRock). It’s been ten days since my appointment, and still nothing.
What’s your take? Should I go back and ask for those induction pills, or how much longer should I wait? This waiting game is driving me crazy.🤣

Hey ladies, quick question... I'm already 9 days late, and for a few days leading up to this, I had some really weird discharge. I’ve been using some medicated suppositories because of an infection, I got into a bit of a heated argument with my boss at work, things have been pretty stressful lately, and honestly, I haven't been sleeping well at all. For the last couple of days, I've had these dull aches in my lower abdomen and I just feel like I need to go, but nothing is happening 😢. Could all this stress be why my period is late?? Usually, my cycle is super consistent and I only ever miss by a day or two...

Hey everyone, I could really use some advice! So, today is actually day three of my period—which is a bit of a surprise since my cycle is usually pretty consistent at around 27 or 28 days. I’m planning to delay my next period by about ten days, and I was wondering when exactly I should start taking my Logitech? Should I jump right on it immediately, or should I wait until just a few days before I expect my period to arrive? Honestly, I've been reading so much conflicting stuff online that my head is spinning—I'm feeling super confused! Does anyone have any insight?

Well, the infection might be a factor, I suppose, but stress—you never know. If you're feeling those mild cramps, you might get it soon. 🙂

It might be best to ask in the Logitech thread or perhaps on the general birth control discussion board. 😉

Hi everyone... I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place to post, but if anyone has dealt with something similar, please let me know. It's been 11 months since I gave birth, and my cycle hasn't been regular at all. I'll go two months without one, then have one, and now it's just stalled. My last period was on November 7th, and I haven't had another one since. On top of that, my back has been hurting terribly for a few days, and I'm seeing this brownish discharge ://
thanks everyone

Hey,

I’m a little confused right now, so if anyone knows what's going on, please help...

So, I had my period around Christmas—totally normal, everything went as expected. But then yesterday, I worked out a bit more (just some light hula hooping) and a few hours later, I started spotting. Sorry for being graphic, but it wasn't just blood; there was some mucus involved too. It wasn't much at first, but when I woke up this morning, I realized I'm bleeding as heavily as a regular period.😕

Is it actually possible that I "triggered" this just by doing two hours of hula hooping? I know, sounds like a total teenager question, but seriously.😂

Also, does anyone know if you bleed if a cyst bursts? (I'm not even sure if I have one. Last time I saw my OB-GYN, he did an ultrasound and said nothing looked abnormal, though I still get this weird discomfort near my left ovary :/ plus, I've had issues with irregular cycles before, so I was taking birth control...)

And can I even keep up with the hula hoop today? Or did I somehow pop an ovary or something?😬

Hey everyone... I’m not entirely sure which sub this belongs in, so here goes nothing... I’ve been dealing with PCOS and have been on Diane 35 for over a year now. Because of my cycle, my period always seems to kick in on Saturday afternoons and wraps up by Friday—it’s become a bit of a predictable routine. But here’s the weird part: I’ve come down with a nasty cold—or maybe it’s the flu—and I’ve been taking some Advil and Tylenol to manage. Normally, I should be finishing up today, but instead, the flow feels way heavier than it did on day one, which is throwing me for a loop. If anyone has dealt with something similar, please let me know... I’ve also had this hacking cough for a few days, and while my stomach itself doesn't hurt, my abdominal muscles are super sore—though I'm pretty sure that's just from all the coughing. I've got a bit of a fever, my appetite has totally vanished, and I'm just feeling generally wiped out... Since I've gotta run, if things don't turn around by Monday, I’m planning to head to my OB-GYN, but if you guys have any advice in the meantime, I'm all ears. Thanks so much!

Ladies, I need some advice... My cycles are never regular to begin with, but somehow my period showed up on the 18th for the last two months. This month, though, I’m already four days late—and I’ve got this sharp, stabbing pain in my lower abdomen, specifically around my left ovary. There was no risk of pregnancy, but just to be safe, I took a test yesterday morning and it came back negative. What do you all think—could this be an ovarian infection?🙂

I have a somewhat silly question, but I am hoping someone might offer some advice

My period started today, just as my partner is preparing to fly in this Sunday after we haven't seen each other for four months. It seems my cycle arrived early due to the excitement, which is frustrating because we had timed his flight perfectly to avoid this exact situation...

Is there any way to speed up the bleeding so it only lasts three days instead of my usual six?
Could abdominal exercises, physical activity, or perhaps hot and cold water help?

I find intimacy during menstruation to be quite unpleasant—please do not try to convince me otherwise—but he arrives in just two days and we won't see each other again for months...😢

Megan Richardson16 said:I have terrible pain during my period. It hits my back, stomach, legs... basically, I'm a mess for three days. I've tried every pill imaginable, but rarely does anything actually work. I even went for checkups, and everything looks fine; they just prescribe standard stuff like Neofen and similar. Does anyone else deal with this, and what kind of meds do you use?

Hi 🙂

A bit late to the party here, but I just recently joined the forum. Personally, Femisan A drops helped me immensely, and I’d recommend them to any girl dealing with painful periods. They are produced somewhere out East (USA/Mexico), but they've become available locally lately. For instance, you can just take them for 3-5 days before your period starts and then continue through the cycle. I took them all month because I also deal with heavy flow, and since these help with that, I didn't want to stop early.

Basically, I didn't even feel the PMS (usually my lower back and stomach ache and I just feel totally drained). When my period arrived, I had some slight pain in the morning, but as soon as I took the drops, my muscles relaxed immediately. I took 30 drops, four times a day during my period, and didn't need any pills at all. In fact, on the very first day, I actually went for a walk by the beach, which was a total 3.1 miles. No issues whatsoever. On the first day (!!!!). Usually, I can only lie in bed curled up with Advil or those strong Advil powder packets. The only downside to these drops is that they cost about $90-$33 here and aren't available in every city (one bottle lasts about three weeks to a month if you're consistent), whereas in the USA, you can get them for about $13-14, which is nearly half the price. So there you go—no chemicals, yet they still work.

The main ingredients are mugwort, yarrow, calendula, savory, knotgrass, and parsley. Mugwort is 30%, and the rest are in smaller amounts; maybe you can find tinctures made only from that herb in pharmacies, who knows...

Hey there!
So... my period started about two years ago, and I feel like things have finally leveled out a bit. Now, my mom is insisting on taking me to see an OB-GYN just to make sure everything is functioning correctly. One question I have is: do I actually even need to go see a specialist? And if so, why?
On top of that, back in January, I ended up getting my period twice. That second one really caught me off guard—it was honestly pretty startling. Does this mean my entire cycle is going to be a mess for the rest of the year?🤷 My second question is whether I should be worried about this happening. My mom claims it’s because I won't wear slippers (which, frankly, I absolutely despise), but I don't buy it. Just to be clear, I haven't been sexually active.

I mean, I honestly doubt it’s because of the footwear or anything like that.🤣
I don't know, personally, mine didn't really settle down for maybe two or three years—I've been dealing with it since I was eleven, I guess—and I never even bothered seeing a doctor, so everything just kind of sorted itself out on its own eventually.😁

Go see a gynecologist, obviously! At the very least, have them run an ultrasound—it’s a standard procedure just to rule out things like cysts or whatever else might be going on. If there is an issue, the sooner you start addressing it, the faster you'll get through it and get your cycle back to normal.

My period is already 12 days late. It’s usually very regular, but I came down with something right when I was due and started taking antibiotics. Before that, I had all my usual PMS symptoms... Is it possible the antibiotics I'm still on could be messing with my cycle? My PMS symptoms have completely vanished...

Hey there!

I’ve got a quick question about how we actually track things. When does day one of your period officially start—is it when you first notice that brownish spotting on the toilet paper, or do you wait until the actual heavy bleeding kicks in?

Thanks!

Hey guys, I could really use some help here.
I honestly had no clue where else to go with this, so I figured I'd just drop it here...
So, my best friend is dealing with her period right now, and she’s been taking stuff like Advil or whatever to manage the pain (not totally sure what the exact brand is, but let's assume it's something like that). Anyway, her birthday is this Saturday, and I was wondering—is it okay if she has a drink or two if she skips her dose that day? Like, if she waits at least 24 hours after her last pill, is she good to go? Or should she wait even longer?
Thanks so much, and if anyone knows, please let me know ASAP. 😉

Oh please, she doesn't even need to wait 24 hours. Obviously, she shouldn't make a habit of it, but nothing bad is going to happen. Hope she has a great birthday! 😁
