There’s a very real risk here that I’ll come across as that insufferable teacher's pet—the kind of person who treats every instructor's word like it’s the eleventh commandment—but I have to ask: why does this actually bother people so much? I mean, sure, it’s ugly, it’s totally unnecessary, and it’s just... bad design—but what specific problems is it actually causing?

I don't see how it slows down page loading, nor is it one of those annoying pop-ups that jumps in front of the text to block your reading, or some floating element that drifts across the screen while you're scrolling... It’s really not a big deal.

Honestly, that "Atlas" (?) anti-clockwise ad is way more irritating.

It looks like it’s popping up as a second post on the page. Honestly, if they hadn't made it that bright orange, it might be less annoying, but then again, if it just matched the site's skin, nobody would even notice it. And if nobody notices it, there's no point in running an ad, right?

Looking back at all those previous attempts, what actually surprises me is how little this even bothers me 🤣

We’re running a little experiment here. We want to make sure these ads aren't constantly getting on your nerves and, ideally, actually offer some value. Otherwise, what's the point?
