Hey there! I’m kind of lost on where to even ask this, so here goes... I was wondering, if I want to switch my primary care doctor, am I actually REQUIRED to go see my current one first?
The thing is, I found a doctor much closer to my place, so I wanted to swing by their office to see if they're even taking new patients. If they say yes, what’s the actual deal with the paperwork? Aside from getting some kind of sign-off over on Main Street, do I really have to trek all the way across town to my old doctor just to deal with medical records or whatever? Thanks

Yeah, unfortunately, you do. At least, that’s how they tell you. I went through the whole process of switching doctors a while back and had to stop by the office on Main Street. I brought over the transfer form I got from the new clinic, and they just entered it into their system, stamped it, and handed it back to me to take to both my old and new doctors. When I asked, "Wait, can't you guys just handle that on your end?" the lady just gave me this look and said, "No," like I was being ridiculous. 🤔🙄

So, here we are in 2018, living in the 21st century... still walking around carrying piles of paper from the new doctor, to Medicare, then back to the old one...
Just imagine if, in some distant future, they actually invent computers and a decent IT system. Who knows, maybe then life will get a little easier for us. 🙄

Hi,
I'm looking for some recommendations for an oral surgeon.
I’m considering getting "all-on-four" implants, but I've been getting completely conflicting advice from several different dental clinics.
Does anyone have any experience with Smith's office, the
Mayo Clinic with John Krhen, or perhaps specialist Igor Smojver over at Gentle Dental in Washington, D.C.?
Thanks

Does anyone know where the best spot in NYC is to book a dermatologist for a mole checkup? Also, does anyone have a rough idea of how long the waitlist usually is...

I was dealing with switching doctors the other day and had to head over to the Jukes clinic with this change-of-provider form my new doctor gave me. They just plug it into their system, slap a stamp on it, and hand it right back to you so you can lug it over to both your old and new doctors. When I actually asked them, "Wait, shouldn't you guys be handling this part?" the woman there just gave me this look and said, "No," like I was being totally ridiculous 🤔🙄

Way back when I switched doctors—I think it was ages ago—I feel like I just handed the form to the new doctor and that was it. I didn't even see the old one. But hey, don't quote me on that, it was a long time ago.

Hey everyone—does anyone know of a private clinic or a lab over in the Seattle area that actually handles testing for kids?

Kimberly Roberts3, for example, doesn't work with children at all.

I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a private dermatologist up in Washington, D.C. I really need someone who can handle a thorough scalp exam and run some microbiological testing. If anyone here has actually dealt with this before, please let me know.

Dr. Sanja Gregurić, based in Washington, D.C.

Hey, can anyone point me toward a GP who’s actually fluent in English? My wife’s native language is English, so it would just make everything way smoother for us.

Where else in New York City can I get my glucose levels checked, besides those places in Beverly Hills?
Is there any decent private clinic out there that actually accepts Medicare?

Are there any high-quality private clinics that actually take Medicare?

Man, I tried one, but the waitlist for an appointment is absolutely brutal...

Where else? Honestly, I’m not happy with any of them. They all seem to be running things through some absolute joke of a system...

Trying to see a private doctor with just a referral is a long shot.
For the ones I actually know, if you're willing to pay out of pocket, you could try Bates, or maybe check out Quest Diagnostics or St. Jude—those are the main ones coming to mind right now.

I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a dermatologist—honestly, I don't care if they're private practice or if I can go through Medicare, just someone who actually knows what they're doing when it comes to getting rid of those stubborn, long-lasting viral warts. Things are starting to get a little bit alarming on my end, so I really need an expert who won't just give me some basic cream and send me on my way. :/

I am seeking a recommendation for a highly competent immunologist and/or rheumatologist based in New York City.

At the hospital where Dr. Anić and Dr. Mayer practice, they are currently accepting pre-authorizations for the 2020 calendar year.
