Hey. Does anyone know the best place to see a gastroenterologist? Like, specifically who should I book an appointment with?

And what's the average wait time for an opening?

I'm hoping I can still squeeze something in before the end of the year.🙄

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some solid recommendations for a pediatric hematologist—private practice is totally fine too.
Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone could point me toward the right kind of specialist. A hard, bluish lump has popped up on my chest, just below the nipple. A few years back, I had a pretty intense inflammation in that exact same spot, but this time, unlike other times, I couldn't manage to drain whatever was inside. I have a suspicion it might be some sort of cyst or perhaps just a fatty tissue buildup. It isn't actually painful, but it’s definitely starting to feel a bit uncomfortable when I touch it.

I am currently on the hunt for a general practitioner, preferably located around the West Side of New York City. 🙏

P.S. And, of course, they actually need to be accepting new patients.

Does anyone happen to know what the average wait time is for a gastroenterologist appointment lately?

Also, if anyone has a solid recommendation for a specialist, please let me know. We all know not everyone in the field is cut from the same cloth when it comes to expertise.
Thanks!

I'm on the hunt for a seriously good ophthalmologist—specifically a contact lens specialist—up in Indianapolis. Any leads? Thanks!

Shouldn't your primary care doctor be the one to tell you exactly who to see?
In your situation, I'd bet my life you'd need to see a surgeon.

I'm looking for a GP in the Upper West Side or Midtown area—somewhere around there—who’s actually taking on new patients. Most importantly, they need to be willing to do home visits because my dad is immobile and can't make it to an office.

Sam Kim12 said:I switched over to the Greenwich clinic to see Jordan Macanović—haven't actually gone to see her yet since I haven't needed to, but I got the recommendation and everyone who went to her says she’s a great doctor, really listens, isn't a nitpicker...

"Really listens," sure, but when a patient actually needs a specialist referral, she has absolutely no clue where to send them.

No. 256. Jordan Macanović, MD, graduated on 9/23/2004., started med school in 1990/1991, then after a nine-year gap following graduation, she finally finished her residency (8/1/2013) before landing an outpatient clinic... and of course, it's at the Maksimir Stadium senior center where she can just experiment and practice basic stuff indefinitely after being out of the game for so long...

I am looking for a physical therapist in New York City, or perhaps an orthopedist capable of drafting a more sophisticated rehabilitation protocol. It has been two and a half months since my surgery—that ACL reconstruction performed by Kenneth Jones. Currently, I have achieved full flexion and extension, and my physiatrist has cleared me to begin light jogging.

wiredharbor63 said:Yeah, unfortunately you do. At least, that’s what they tell you. I was dealing with the whole process of switching doctors the other day at the JFK clinic—brought in that transfer form I got from the new doc. They just punch it into their system, slap a stamp on it, and hand it right back to you to carry over to the old doctor and then the new one. When I actually asked, "Wait, aren't you guys supposed to handle that part?" the woman just gave me this look and said, "No" with total disbelief 🤔🙄

So here we are in 2018, the 21st century... and you still have to walk around lugging papers everywhere—first to the new guy, then to Medicare, then back to the old one...
just imagine if they ever actually invent computers or a functional IT system in the distant future. Maybe then life won't be such a massive waste of time 🙄

Is this seriously how it works?? If that's the case, I'd have to drive halfway across the country, and then make another trip to a different city just to deal with Medicare👎

Also, if anyone knows a GP in Seattle who's actually taking new patients—I've been asking online and in person, but I'm getting zero recommendations...

My lower back pain has been getting worse lately—it’s constant now, whether I'm standing, sitting, or even lying down.

I'm actually in the same boat here; if anyone has a recommendation, please let me know.

Greetings.
I am currently searching for a private pulmonologist in the Washington, D.C. area—someone who truly understands the complexities of pulmonary health and is a genuine expert in their field. If anyone happens to have a recommendation they could share, I would be very grateful... Thank you in advance.

Does anyone know of an actually decent dermatologist in Washington, D.C.? And I mean someone with genuine expertise—not some hack trying to sell me overpriced nonsense and fake smiles.

I’ve got a question that I wasn't quite sure where to post, so I figured I'd just drop it here.
My buddy needs to get some eye scans done, and since they aren't covered by Medicare, he’s looking at paying out of pocket. Right now, a clinic like Mayo Clinic is charging him about $133 per eye—which, honestly, isn't surprising given how much these things cost everywhere else. He did a little digging online and found out that if he goes to a specific clinic in Sarajevo, the exact same scan costs just a tiny bit more than $67 per eye. That's basically half the price. My main concern is this: will the doctors here in the States give him a hard time or just toss the results out because they were done in Canada? He’s actually heading to Sarajevo next week for work anyway, so it seems like a no-brainer to get it done there, but he's worried whether his doctors back home will actually honor those results.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a plastic surgeon who specializes in removing moles and cysts? They're in a pretty visible spot, so I’m really looking for someone who can ensure the scarring is kept to an absolute minimum.

A friend of mine needs to get some eye scans done, which can only be found at private clinics, so naturally, there is a cost involved. Right now, getting this scan at a clinic like Mayo Clinic costs about $133 per eye, which seems to be the standard rate at most places. However, he did a bit of searching online and discovered that in Sarajevo, at the exact same clinic, the same scan costs only slightly more than $67 per eye, making it nearly half the price. My question is whether doctors might cause issues or perhaps even reject the results if they are performed in Canada? He happens to be heading to Sarajevo next week for business, so he is considering doing it then, but he is worried about whether those results will actually be recognized back here in the States.

I wonder, what specific type of scan is it?

Might be the wrong spot for this, but can anyone point me toward a private psychiatrist who could write up a note to help me freeze my semester at college?
