I see exam prices are hitting $117, so I’m not really looking to just go to anyone (potential issue: some viral warts—my own diagnosis, lol)

You can get viral warts and papillomas handled at any hospital in the dermatology department via cryotherapy or electrocoagulation for maybe less than $67.

I need some advice here. I’ve been lifting heavy lately and my abdomen and groin have been killing me, then yesterday a lump about the size of a hazelnut popped up on my stomach wall. There isn't much else to it—it's gotta be a hernia. I'm looking for recommendations on where to go. I've heard all sorts of things, mentions of ligaments, maybe even Saint Catherine? Also, if anyone knows whether you can use insurance for this—like if you pick up a policy, would it cover part of the costs?

I've worked hard to get in shape since I'm pretty active with sports, and I've got a mountain of chores around the house, so I really want to get back on my feet ASAP. Thanks

I stay in great shape because I am very active in sports, and I have a ton of housework to get through, so I want to recover as quickly as possible. Thanks.

See a surgeon.

Greetings to everyone.
A member of my family is scheduled for surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm, extending from the heart down through the abdomen. We have been informed that Dr. Pavić and Dr. Figl will be performing and overseeing the procedure.
If anyone here has personal experience with these surgeons or this specific operation, I would be quite grateful for your insights.

Hey everyone...

Does anyone have a recommendation—or maybe some firsthand experience—for a good gastroenterologist in Chicago? Honestly, there’s zero chance I’ll get an appointment at the hospital anytime soon given how things are right now, so if I’m going to pay for a private specialist, I want to make sure they're actually good.

Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some recommendations for a neurologist, ideally one who specializes specifically in epilepsy. Also, I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with Ingrid Škarpa Prpić from the Rijeka hospital, since she's currently managing my care. Has she been able to provide a clear diagnosis and effective treatment plan for you?

Thanks in advance!^^

I’m looking for an ENT specialist in San Diego who actually knows how to be gentle; I mean, when they’re clearing out earwax using a micro-instrument under an otomicroscope, they shouldn't leave the canal
so incredibly irritated. Honestly, my ear ended up hurting twenty times worse after I walked out of the clinic than it did before the procedure—it wasn't even bothering me initially, but now it’s been inflamed for weeks... I just don't understand
why everyone seems to be so heavy-handed. I actually ended up with external otitis once solely because of a doctor's roughness, and it plagued me for a whole year because some kind of eczema developed, which meant everything would
get inflamed and sting constantly, not to mention that unbearable itching.

So, if anyone happens to know an ENT in San Diego who works slowly and delicately, please let me know, because the ear canal is just so sensitive. 👍

It isn't that I doubt the doctors' technical expertise; I just need someone who isn't aggressive, but I really have no clue which ENT in San Diego is the right fit, since everyone I ask gives me a different name.

Thanks! 🙂

Thanks! 🙂

Which doctor did you see? I'd personally recommend Nekić.

Hey there!

Has anyone here been to a private clinic lately? I'm looking for somewhere in Washington, D.C. where we can get an appointment pretty fast... ideally by early next week.
Ideally, it would be a big facility where she can handle almost everything in one go—cardiology, blood work, thyroid panels, endocrinology, OB/GYN, maybe even psychiatry.

It’s for a woman around 50. She’s been dealing with tachycardia lately—heart rate spiking between 100 and 150 bpm. The ER said she isn't in immediate danger, but she's basically sidelined because of it. We don't know if it's heart issues, menopause, stress, anxiety, her thyroid, or just something else entirely... she needs answers ASAP since this has never happened before.

Hit me up here or shoot me a DM. Thanks!

Try the Mayo Clinic or Bates. You can find their pricing online.

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a good chiropractor recommendation here in Washington, D.C.
I’ve been dealing with this nagging pain all down my left side—my ankle hurts, my whole leg tightens up whenever I sit cross-legged, and I actually limp for a few seconds every time I stand up after sitting too long. Even my neck on the left side is acting up lately. It’s been going on for months now!
Does anyone know a great specialist I should check out? 🕺

Honestly, I wouldn't go to a chiropractor for that. You really need to see a physiatrist.

I’ve had all my moles removed at the Mayo Clinic—specifically in their General Surgery Clinic (plastic surgery wing)—and honestly, I’m quite satisfied with the results, even though I ended up seeing a different surgeon every single time. They actually send the samples off for PhD research, so I suppose that part of the process is handled too. The only thing they really insisted on was having a dermatologist’s report and a dermoscopy done first, and then based on those findings, I just happened to ask them to take off a few more purely for aesthetic reasons. I did bring along a nice little bottle of something beforehand to say thanks...🕺>

Thanks for the heads-up. My question is—with everything going on with COVID-19 right now—do they actually have the bandwidth for procedures that aren't top priority? It seems like the perfect timing for me, though—especially since I'm working from home now.

I assume Dermatology is still operational, and likely General Surgery too, though you should probably double-check that. Unless the entire department gets put under strict isolation, they really ought to be carrying out all standard procedures as usual.

I went in for a dermoscopy at the Rib clinic last week (had to deal with the traffic coming from the Neighborhood), and they’re doing fine. Plastic surgery is up and running too; I managed to snag an appointment for two weeks from now.
