Hey,

Which clinic in the Split area would you recommend if I need a full general checkup?

I'm looking at private options, since it's probably not the best time to try navigating things through Medicare right now.

Well, I suppose that's actually fine. Last time I managed to secure an appointment, it took about eight months—and that was back when they were still operating out of the Neighborhood location.

Does anyone know if the cardiologist Diana Rudan from the Neighborhood works privately anywhere?

Does anyone here happen to have experience visiting a private clinic lately? Looking for somewhere in Washington, D.C. where we could potentially get an appointment fairly quickly—ideally by early next week.

Ideally, it’d be a larger facility where they can handle most things under one roof (cardiology, blood work, thyroid panels, endocrinology, OB/GYN, psychiatry).

It's for a woman around 50 who's been dealing with tachycardia (heart rate jumping between 100-150) over the last few days. At the ER, they said she wasn't in immediate life-threatening danger, but she basically can't function because of it. We aren't sure if it's a heart issue, menopause, stress, anxiety, her thyroid, or something else entirely... she really needs to see someone ASAP since this is all brand new for her.

Feel free to reply here or shoot me a DM. Thanks!

Try Lacić in the Neighborhood.

I don't really know what to make of that—it feels like one of those half-finished thoughts you see floating around on Reddit when someone is too tired to actually type out their point. Maybe they just hit send by accident? Or maybe they're just testing the waters. Honestly, I can't tell. It’s hard to say without any context, I guess. says:
Hey there—does anyone have a solid recommendation for a chiropractor in Washington, D.C.? I'm looking for someone reliable, if that's even possible these days.
I’ve been dealing with this issue involving my entire left side—my ankle is acting up, and whenever I sit cross-legged, my whole left leg just tightens right up. To make matters worse, every single time I stand up after sitting for a while, I end up limping on that left leg for a few seconds. Even my neck on the left side gets hit with pain quite often. This hasn't been a one-off thing either; it’s been dragging on for months now.
Actually, does anyone even have a decent recommendation for where I should go? I mean, honestly, who can you actually trust these days? 🕺

If you're asking my two cents—and I guess that's what you're looking for—I’d definitely say go with a physical therapist for the leg. As for the neck? Honestly, maybe see both. It's probably best to have both perspectives on that one.

If you're looking for a chiropractor, go see Anthony Deutscher at Chicago Chiropractic—he’s located over in Lower Svetica, right down from Kennedy. Honestly, he's one of those rare finds who actually knows what he's doing. He won't just mess around with you for months on end, hoping things magically snap back into place or, even worse, making everything feel ten times worse because he doesn't get how the body works. He actually understands that your muscles need time to adjust to a new alignment—which, let's be honest, most people ignore. I probably shouldn't even start listing the mountain of injuries and issues he's sorted out for me—it's a pretty long list, thanks to some questionable family genetics—but yeah, he's the real deal.😉I think it’s worth mentioning that this guy literally saved my life. After getting a partially incorrect diagnosis at the ER—which, honestly, would have left me dealing with some serious spinal cord compression from a herniated disc (something that was pretty obvious even without imaging, if you ask me)—I finally went to see him. I made sure to get proper scans of my neck, unlike the rushed, half-baked job they did at the hospital, and he managed to fix everything in just a few visits. 😊

If anyone’s looking for a solid recommendation for a physical therapist, you should check out FiziBo over in the Savica area—specifically that little plateau right by the Lidl. Honestly, he’s a brilliant diagnostician—probably better than most doctors I've dealt with, and I don't say that lightly since my luck with physicians has been pretty abysmal, exceptions aside. He’s an excellent PT, too. It’s the same story as what I mentioned before—he really knows his stuff. After seeing him, I don't think I'd ever bother going back to those "public" clinics again.

Greetings. Does anyone happen to have a recommendation for a dermatologist in the Indianapolis area for a one-year-old girl? She’s had this redness on her cheek since birth—about the size of a quarter, I suppose—and it just won't budge, despite what her pediatrician suggested. Apparently, we're supposed to just apply hydrating cream, but we haven't seen any progress whatsoever. It seemed much less noticeable during the summer months than it is now in the winter. Thanks.

Greetings,
I’ve dealt with epididymitis three times in just three years—the first instance seemed to be triggered by prostatitis. My initial exam was at Mercury (it was M. Sučić and a colleague, T. Šanjek, in one instance), and while the consultation was brief, the inflammation was obvious enough that they slapped some antibiotics on me. I returned two weeks later for a follow-up, and things were looking better. I wasn't even in the room for two minutes before the interaction ended. "Feeling better?" Yes, I am. "Okay, thanks, goodbye..." That was it. On two subsequent occasions, I faced the exact same pattern: rushed exams, a round of antibiotics, and then nothing during follow-ups—no additional testing, no diagnostic deep dives, absolutely zero attempt to identify the root cause. It is as if they are physically incapable of slowing down; it’s just "blah blah blah, goodbye." If I hadn't had a handful of specific questions—which, mind you, they refused to answer—I would have been out of there in sixty seconds. When I actually start questioning why this keeps recurring or how we might pinpoint the underlying issue, they start acting condescending. They say things like, "I'm not a prophet," or "Well, what tests would *you* like? Do you have a suggestion?" It’s patronizing and entirely unprofessional.
When I finally pointed out that if they lacked both answers and interest, I would simply be forced to seek private care... the response was essentially, "Well, go ahead then." So, that’s it. I will never return to a urologist at Mercury again; I certainly wouldn't recommend them if you are actually looking for quality medical treatment. Perhaps I’ve just had bad luck with doctors, but this experience was truly bottom-tier.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a urologist who actually intends to listen, engage in a dialogue, and investigate causes rather than just treating the symptoms and waving you away!?

Thanks, best regards

Greetings. Following some rather disappointing encounters at Mercury, does anyone have a recommendation for a urologist in Washington, D.C.? I am looking for someone who actually intends to listen, engage in a real dialogue, and investigate the underlying causes—rather than just prescribing treatment after a rushed two-minute examination before showing me the door.
Thanks, best regards.

I’d highly recommend Neven Kapun; he’s a true professional through and through. Even in private practice, you run into those bad ones like the folks at your Mercury clinic—for instance, that incredibly condescending woman over at Sunfory who couldn't care less about her patients.

Maybe give the Rib a shot. I know a few people who go there and they're actually happy with it.

Rib. Should I go with Dr. EL Saleh or maybe Dr. Ferenčak?

Would you recommend LOM for anyone living in the East New Chicago area?
My situation is a bit complex, and my care requires more attention than your average patient.

Wait, you're talking about the Ferenčak area?
Honestly, that guy from Syria is just incredible—super easy to talk to, really vibrant, and honestly just full of life.

I saw Milas over at the Rib clinic, and honestly, I’m leaning towards epididymitis too.

The guy is polite and all, but I don't think he actually has a clue... I laid out my symptoms, and he just brushed it off saying it might be some kind of latent inflammation.
So I told him, "That's exactly why I'm here." He basically said there's nothing he can do for me. I was just about to start looking for someone else—was thinking about heading over to the Neighborhood facility—but they converted the whole place into a COVID-19 hospital.😢

I’m on the hunt for a decent ophthalmologist in Washington, D.C. For quite some time now, I’ve been dealing with eye pain that hits once a week and lingers for several hours at a time. The last specialist I saw basically brushed me off—just gave me a disinterested "it might be your prescription" before sending me on my way. I'm looking for someone who actually has the patience and genuine interest to dig into what's going on; someone who will actually investigate the issue rather than just checking my eye pressure and telling me to get lost.

Personally, I think Dr. Petriček over at the General Surgery Clinic is excellent. I usually go in just to check my prescription, but they end up running a whole battery of tests on me. I'm usually practically blind for a little while afterward, but honestly, it’s worth it.
Very thorough and professional.

Hey there,

Does anyone have a recommendation for an endocrinologist in Washington, D.C.? I’ve been suspecting subclinical hypothyroidism—my TSH usually hovers around 5-5.5—so I’m looking for a specialist who might be open to trying a lower dose of medication first. I want to see if we can get things back on track without jumping straight into heavy treatment. Thanks!

Does anyone know if you can see Dr. Petriček for a standard eye exam? Not for specialized telescopic stuff, just regular glasses. I wear contacts normally, but I haven't been particularly happy with my doctor at Rib lately. Regardless of that, I really need an eye exam for some new glasses.
