I'm looking for an ophthalmologist in Washington, D.C.—ideally someone who really specializes in treatment options.
I've been struggling with dry eyes lately, and I actually went to the Bilic Polyclinic already, but they basically told me there isn't much they can do for me... which is super frustrating. So, I'd love to get a second opinion from someone else.

Does anyone happen to know a really great private urologist they could recommend?
Thanks so much in advance!

David Flores68 said:I'm looking for a solid ophthalmologist in Washington, D.C. For quite some time now, my eyes have been aching for a few hours once a week, and the last eye doctor I saw basically brushed me off with a disinterested, "maybe it's just your prescription." So, I'm searching for someone who actually has the patience and willingness to dig into what's going on—someone who wants to do more than just check my pressure and send me on my way.

One more attempt at this. I tried scheduling through the Rib clinic, following someone's suggestion, but they gave me an appointment date in 2022. 😁

I asked if that was perhaps a typo—if they meant 2021, for instance—to which they replied:

"It isn't a mistake; general exams are handled at the community health center, while the specialists
are over at the hospital. We only have one general clinic and the waitlist is massive."

So, I suppose I'll need a referral for a decent ophthalmologist at a local health center here in Washington, D.C.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a private immunologist or rheumatologist in the Washington, D.C. area?

Mislav Cerovec works at Rib, specializing specifically in immunology and rheumatology... though I'm not sure if he takes private patients, since I only ever saw him through the hospital system.
Porin Perić is an excellent rheumatologist—keep in mind he's actually a physiatrist rather than a pure immuno-rheum specialist, but from what I hear, he does private practice.

Greetings, everyone.
I am looking for a recommendation for a reliable urologist in the Washington, D.C. area. Someone close to me recently visited an emergency urology clinic, but the hematuria has actually worsened, along with increased pain, so we really need to address this promptly...
Thank you in advance.

I am dealing with dry eyes, and after visiting the Bilic clinic, they told me that wearing lenses isn't an option for me right now. I would really appreciate hearing a second opinion.

When you have dry eyes, contact lenses just don't work—I know this from my own experience.
However, there are several specialists who deal with this frequently, such as Dr. Ksenija Ćuruvija Opačić or Dr. Željko Karaman-Martinović at the Opto Center. I have personally consulted with them before.

Greetings,

I find myself in need of some expert guidance regarding medical recommendations. Does anyone happen to know of a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon, neurologist, or perhaps a specialist surgeon who focuses specifically on upper extremity conditions—you know, things involving the hands, wrists, or elbows? I am particularly looking for someone with extensive experience managing repetitive strain injuries, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, cubital tunnel syndrome, and those other similar ailments that seem to plague us all. Ideally, the specialist would be practicing within Washington, D.C., or perhaps the surrounding metropolitan areas.

Thank you all so much in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanks in advance.

Are you thinking private practice or through something like Medicare?

Well, honestly, it could be either one depending on how you look at it.

Dr. Iva Krolo, St. Mary's Hospital

She’s highly skilled and will walk you through everything; in my opinion, she's the best in the US when it comes to contact lenses.

From what I understand, the wait isn't too bad at the general eye clinic over on Vinogradska. Maybe try scheduling something there.

Hey everyone! I really need some advice. Does anyone know a top-tier, super experienced radiologist who could take a look at my MRI CD? I’ve got surgery coming up to remove a benign tumor/cyst. They told me it’s sitting right in that tricky spot between the liver, kidney, and large intestine—it started out at about 5 cm, but it's grown to roughly 8 cm now. Also, back when I was a kid, they diagnosed me with a double urethra, but looking at two different MRIs now as an adult, there’s absolutely nothing visible. That feels pretty weird to me, so I’m dying to get a second opinion from a real expert privately before I head into surgery. Any leads would be amazing!

Hey,
I've been dealing with zero libido for like 5 years now and it's driving me crazy.
I saw some private endo guy in ST, but after they took my
blood, all he did was tell me to take a multivitamin🤦.
I really need a recommendation for a solid endocrinologist or urologist in ST
who actually cares about fixing how I feel instead of just looking at lab numbers😵.
Is there anyone decent in ST, or am I gonna have to make the trek up to Washington, D.C.?🙂
I've tried basically every diet, multivitamin, and test booster out there, but nothing changes.
I just need someone who’ll actually take this seriously and not just brush me off with
some cheap vitamins. I don't mind paying for a private specialist if I have to.
