Hey,
so my doctor gave me some advice and basically told me I need to track down a urologist-andrologist.
Is there anyone like that available in ST or maybe even just somewhere in the US? 😁 I mean, I'd honestly be down to drive all the way to Washington, D.C. if we actually have someone like that here.

I’m asking on behalf of my sister, who is seeing a neurologist in America who actually specializes in severe Myasthenia Gravis—that's her diagnosis—because the neurologists here in Tampa openly admitted
that they don't know much about this specific condition, even though she’s traveled to Washington, D.C. a few times to receive plasma exchanges and once received immunoglobulin at ZD, but honestly, nothing seems to be working, and she also underwent
thymus surgery.

Her therapy is always the same routine of Mestinon and Decortin, but she’s essentially immobile; she can only manage to walk a few short meters before needing help, so we usually end up carrying her or using a wheelchair.

Hi there,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a gastroenterologist in Washington, D.C.? Ideally, someone who practices both privately and at a hospital. It’s becoming quite urgent, so I’d like to book a private appointment for my dad, but if any issues arise, it would be much easier to follow up through the hospital system... Thanks.

had surgery to remove her thymus gland.

The treatment plan is always the same: just Mestinon and Decortin. It doesn't change anything. She can't move... well, she can barely walk a few feet before she's done. We usually end up carrying her or using a wheelchair.

From what I've heard—though I'm not sure if they're taking new patients or where they're located—Dr. Sostarko specializes in that exact issue.

Thanks! 😉

Hey everyone,
Does anyone happen to know where Dr. Tonći Stipić is practicing these days? He used to be at the Pablo clinic in the Solin area, but I just called for a follow-up and they told me he’s no longer there... they didn't even have any info on where he moved to. 🤦
If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. He's an outstanding doctor and I honestly can't bring myself to switch to someone else...
Thanks,
Best,

It’s kind of urgent, so I’d book him privately first, but if they find anything serious, it would be way easier to follow up if he's also on staff at a major hospital. Thanks!

Private option: check out Amrusev Polyclinic or just ask them which hospital they're affiliated with.

Hey everyone, does anyone have any recommendations on where I can go for a private gastroscopy? Also, does anyone know what kind of prices we're looking at these days?...

Hi everyone! Does anyone have a recommendation for a great general practitioner or family doctor here in Washington, D.C.? 🙂 We live over in the Knežija area, so finding an office in Trešnjevka, the West Side, or downtown would be perfect. It’s really important to me that both the doctor and the nurse are highly professional, polite, and easy to reach via email or phone when I need to schedule an appointment or request a prescription.

She practices at the ABR Polyclinic located on Bužanov in Washington, D.C. I highly recommend her; she provides an exceptional level of dedicated care to every patient.👍

Hey, does anyone have a solid recommendation for an experienced doctor who specializes in eye exams for seniors? My mom has some allergies and diabetes to manage, so we need someone who really knows their stuff. Thanks a million!

I don't think they're there anymore, but I can't say for sure.

Looking for recommendations for a Neurologist and a Maxillofacial Surgeon via DM. I’m dealing with some TMJ issues along with misaligned C1 and C2 vertebrae. Are there any other specialists you'd suggest looking into for this combo? Thanks. 👍

She was actually there at the end of December, and she scheduled her follow-up appointment for three months out. Unless something has changed in the interim, she should still be set.🤔

Go with a Neurosurgeon. Instability in the TMJ often originates from issues within the cervical spine.

Following some consultations with my doctor, I've been advised to seek out a urologist specializing in andrology.
Is there such a specialist available in the ST or perhaps just here in the US? 😁 I am more than willing to make the trip to New York City if we have someone capable locally.

There is an andrology clinic located over at the Vinograd facility in New York City:

Hello,
I'm looking for a recommendation for a neurologist specializing in dementia—someone who is both highly skilled and actually personable.
A friend’s mother had a SPECT scan last week, and we really need an expert to help us make sense of the results.

Feel free to send details via DM.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know how one actually goes about seeing a geneticist as an adult? My primary doctor is insisting that there isn't really such a thing as a geneticist "for adults," claiming they all operate strictly within pediatrics and therefore she can't refer me to them. Has anyone else run into this hurdle before? 🙂

When I search online, everything points toward the Institute of Genetics and Metabolic Diseases at Johns Hopkins Hospital, which seems to be tucked under their pediatric department. 🤷

On another note, I’m looking for recommendations for a solid private immunologist or rheumatologist. I was considering reaching out to Dr. Bosnic, but honestly, I've been reading some pretty discouraging reviews from the last few years...

My search keeps bringing up a genetics and metabolic disease department at Johns Hopkins Hospital, but it's tucked away under their pediatric wing. 🤷

Also, I really need a recommendation for a solid private immunologist or rheumatologist. I was thinking about seeing Dr. Bosnic, but honestly, the reviews from the last couple of years look pretty terrible...

I think they have someone at Johns Hopkins. For an immunologist, try Dr. Burek-Miski—she's over at Imunomed.

I guess I'm just wondering about the process—maybe there's a specific way to navigate this through the medical system here in the States. So, my partner is insisting that there’s no such thing as a geneticist "for adults"—claiming they only operate within pediatrics and that I can't exactly be referred to one of them. I guess she thinks they just don't exist once you've grown up? Has anyone actually dealt with this before? 🙂

The search engine is pulling up the Institute for Genetics and Metabolic Diseases over at Johns Hopkins Hospital—specifically within the pediatrics department. 🤷

Also, I think I might need... Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a private immunologist or rheumatologist? I’m looking for someone reliable—ideally a specialist in private practice. I feel like navigating the mainstream options can be such a headache sometimes, so if you know a pro who actually listens and doesn't just rush through the appointment, please let me know. Any leads would be appreciated....I'm thinking about heading over to see Dr. Bosnic, but then I start reading through all these terrible reviews from the last few years...

It really depends on what kind of genetic testing you’re actually looking for—it's not one-size-fits-all. I guess a lot of those panel tests can be handled through other clinics anyway.
As for Dr. Bosnic—he’s retired now. I'm honestly not sure if he's still seeing patients at all, or if he even has a private practice anymore.
