Has anyone gone through the process of getting eyelid surgery covered by Medicare at any of the hospitals here in New York City?
I’m looking for some advice—I already have the referral, but I’m feeling a bit lost on which hospital or surgeon would be the best choice.
Thanks in advance!

I’ve got my referral, but I’m totally lost on which hospital or doctor I should actually pick.
Thanks in advance!
So, about two years ago, I had work done over in Brooklyn with Dr. Aljinovic in maxillofacial surgery. She actually spoke really highly of one of her colleagues in plastics—I think his last name is Vlajcic.
Also, a former coworker of mine had her procedure done at Holy Spirit, and she had nothing but great things to say about it!

My search results are only showing the Institute of Genetics and Metabolic Diseases at Johns Hopkins Hospital within the pediatric department. 🤷
Also, I could use a recommendation for a good private immunologist or rheumatologist. I'm thinking about seeing Dr. Bosnic, but I've been reading some pretty bad reviews from the last few years...
Dr. Bosnic works at the Josip Konj Clinic. She was okay for me, though she seemed a bit rushed since I was her last patient, but maybe she's more relaxed if you aren't the last one on the schedule.

Hey everyone, I could probably use a recommendation for a private endocrinologist in New York City, maybe someone other than the Lacic Clinic. It’s regarding a thyroid issue.

Miami—I'm looking for some recommendations for an endocrinologist or perhaps someone specializing in nuclear medicine. I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's.

Bates Clinic, Villa Clinic, Butterfly Clinic, Saint Roch Clinic, Saint Catherine Hospital in New York City, or Phoenix Clinic.

Hey everyone, does anyone have recommendations for a family medicine doctor in New York City, and maybe an endocrinologist too?
I also need some advice—I really need to vent, and I hope it’s okay to post this here... Basically, I want to switch my primary care physician, someone I've been seeing for 15-20 years. I've wanted to make the move for a long time, but I never felt a massive urge to leave since I usually only go once a year, if that. Plus, every time I looked into switching based on recommendations, there was never an opening. Now, I'm just sitting here furious at myself for staying all these years because of that "what if the next one is worse?" mentality. Honestly, I'm feeling the urge to file a formal complaint. It started when I first requested a referral for a thyroid ultrasound; they suggested I just pay for it privately, so I did. Foolish, I know. Now, I'm back asking for another ultrasound referral (I actually had two or three ultrasounds during routine checkups between those visits), and the response was ridiculous. First, they told me I could get an appointment as early as tomorrow, but then said they wouldn't give me that slot because I wouldn't have time to get my antibody and hormone results back by then. Fine. I get that part. I wasn't demanding an immediate appointment or rushing any specific timeline. I simply stated I wanted a follow-up because it's been over a year since my last exam and I was feeling unwell last week—specifically a "pressure" sensation in my neck. I've also dealt with that "lump in the throat" feeling off and on for a few years now. To that, the response was basically: "That doesn't even have to be your thyroid, so why don't you just go private?" :O I told them I wasn't going private, so she just scribbled out the referral and practically kicked me out the door. If it isn't an emergency, and if an appointment can be scheduled for tomorrow, why are they pushing private care? Why am I paying my taxes and Medicare premiums every single month? This kind of behavior infuriates me—not even because of my own situation, but because they'll treat someone with much more serious issues the exact same way. Am I wrong for thinking this kind of conduct deserves a complaint? :/ Sorry for the long rant, but I really want to hear what you guys think...

I need some advice, and honestly, I just need to vent. I hope it’s okay to post this here... Basically, I want to switch my primary care doctor, someone I've been seeing for basically forever—like 15 to 20 years. I’ve wanted to make the jump for a long time, but I never felt a massive rush to leave since I usually only go once a year, if that. Plus, every time I looked into switching based on recommendations, there was never an opening. Now, I'm just sitting here absolutely fuming at myself because I wasted all these years staying put just thinking, "well, what if the next one is even worse?" And now, I really feel like filing a formal complaint about my current doctor. So, get this: the first time I went in asking for a referral for a neck ultrasound, they suggested I just go privately. So, being a total idiot, I did. Fast forward to now, I'm back asking for another ultrasound referral (between those two visits, I actually had two or three ultrasounds done during routine checkups). At first, they told me I could get an appointment as early as tomorrow, but then they pulled a complete 180 and said they wouldn't give me that slot because I wouldn't have time to get my antibody and hormone bloodwork results back by then. Okay, fine. I get that part. It's not even a big deal—I wasn't demanding an immediate appointment or trying to rush anything. I just explained that I needed a follow-up because it’s been over a year since my last exam and I was feeling pretty rough last week. I had this weird "pressure" in my neck, and for a few years now, I've had that sensation of a lump in my throat every once in a while. The response I got? They told me that doesn't necessarily have to be thyroid-related and suggested I just go see someone privately :O. I told them no, I'm not going private, so she just scribbled out the referral and practically kicked me out the door... If it's not an emergency, and if an appointment can be scheduled for tomorrow, why are they constantly pushing private care? Why am I paying into Medicare and supplemental insurance every single month if this is how it works? It makes me so angry—not even just because of my own situation, but because this kind of attitude is going to brush off someone who actually has serious issues. Am I wrong for thinking this kind of behavior deserves a complaint? :/ Sorry for the wall of text, I just really need to hear what you guys think...
Yeah, you definitely should complain about that kind of behavior.

Hey everyone!
Has anyone here dealt with getting keloid or hypertrophic scars treated using non-ablative fractional lasers paired with steroid injections? And specifically in the US? I’m strictly looking for non-ablative options—no open wounds allowed!
From what I’ve dug up so far, it seems like nobody really combines these two methods; most places just stick to ablative lasers. Plus, I can't find much info on treating large areas where you actually need to restore functionality to your upper limbs. Most clinics seem focused on nothing but acne scarring.
Maybe I’m just looking in all the wrong places online? So, yeah, figured I'd ask.

I’m looking for a recommendation for an ENT—preferably in a private practice setting. I’ve been dealing with some persistent tinnitus and some subsequent hearing loss here in New York City.

Hey there!
I was wondering if anyone knows a good endocrinologist in New York City who won't just brush off subclinical hypothyroidism? I'm looking for someone actually willing to test the waters with a low dose of Euthyrox to see how my body handles it. Any leads?

Hi everyone!
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a dermatologist in New York City through Medicare. I'm dealing with some adult acne, I guess.
Thanks.
