Dr. Pasic at the Salad bar. Honestly, she is a top-tier expert—absolute best in her field!

A friend of mine dealt with the exact same thing—she actually had spots on her face too—and she went to see some specialists over at the Salad clinic, and honestly, they were a total lifesaver. She saw a dermatologist at the community health center in New York City (right there in Sioux Falls). I’ve also heard great things about the doctors over in Krug. I’m actually getting ready to book an appointment with her myself. Word on the street is she’s a little bit eccentric, but man, everyone raves about how effective her work is!

I know there have been tons of threads about braces already, but nobody ever seems to mention actual doctors. I need to get fixed braces, and I really don't want to just wander into some random clinic, so if you could recommend someone, I'd appreciate it.

Can anyone give me some advice on where to find the best private dentists in New York City or maybe somewhere like Chicago? I’m trying to figure out what the typical costs look like, too. I'll be heading back to the States in about a month...

Seriously though, the guy is awesome. I’ve been seeing him personally, and honestly, he’s great with my elderly folks too... plus, it’s such a relief that things are way more affordable in Indianapolis than they are in NYC...

Dr. John Doe is hands down the best specialist in Indianapolis; his office is out in a suburban town. You should probably book at least three months ahead for that reason alone. 🙂

Could someone recommend a solid eye doctor in Washington, D.C.? I've decided I'm done with contact lenses and want to switch back to glasses. I used to get my contacts at the Eye Care Center in the Vlach neighborhood, but it's time for a change.

Go ahead and pick up some rippled lenses and actually put them through their paces. You really ought to stop relying on those standard conventional glasses; they aren't going to do anything to improve your vision 👋

look, glasses don't actually "cure" myopia or farsightedness—that's just not how it works. 🙄

but they sure as hell make life livable, so I'm thankful for them, I guess. 🙂

I go to a specialist at the hospital who handles my prescription anyway, so I can't really give you any direct help here, sorry.

Look, I’m fully aware they aren't designed to actually correct vision. But if they aren't doing that, why on earth would she bother wearing them? Just to live like that forever? It makes way more sense for her to put in a few months of training and just fix her vision once and for all.

So, how exactly am I supposed to exercise my way out of this vision mess?
I got diagnosed with myopia a few months back, so now I'm stuck wearing glasses on and off.

They’re essentially training you to focus using those perforated glasses. It’s all about exercising the ocular muscles.

Let’s be clear: they are just basic plastic frames with holes punched through them—there isn't an actual lens involved.

And honestly, regardless of what your prescription actually is, you’ll see perfectly fine while wearing them. They’re universal.
The idea is to wear them for about 30 minutes to an hour a day, going about your usual business, and stick to that routine for a few months.

The catch is that during that specific window, you aren't supposed to wear your regular glasses. Which, I suppose, could be a bit of a nuisance.
